Here for a book signing today!
    Maria T.

This Barnes & Noble was so busy on this Saturday afternoon! I came to meet a group of fellow poets for a book signing for our anthology and it was a fun event! Like most B&Ns, the bookstore was well stocked and neat. The magazine department has a wide selection! We stopped on the café to grab a scone and tea which was soothing and delicious! Good service there! Our event was pretty successful with all the foot traffic and a couple of people bought the book for their grads. (Side note: There was another event there near ours and I think it would have been better to just have one at a time because they seem to conflict/clash.) Anyway, What a thoughtful gift. We all signed them and we enjoyed talking with fellow poets and poetry lovers alike! It's so thrilling to see so many folks supporting local writers and keeping the written word alive! The book signing was from 2-4, but when we arrived the table and chairs weren't set up and the employees had to scramble to arrange our spot. Nevertheless, the camaraderie amongst all of the writers was amazing and we had a great time!

Barnes and Noble is a great place for those seeking to gain information the old fashioned way - through a book. Don't let that preconception fool you though, Barnes and Noble is growing with the times and expanding their offerings to things such trendy tablets, music, and a wider selection of toys. Personally, I've always gone to Barnes and Noble for their selection of latest magazines (I'm still into that), seasonal toys, and whatever book catches my eye for the day. It's hard to be bored here, there's so much choices to read and learn from, that you can get lost in this place for hours. Not too mention, most if not all, locations will have a Starbucks conveniently located within or nearby, so it can fulfill that book plus coffee stereotype even more (not that it's a bad combination). I view Barnes and Noble as one of the last great stores from the older times. When reading was done on a paper page, not digital screen. They're still carrying the torch, keeping the tradition alive, and I love that. I hope this place influences the younger generation to take their eyes off their screens for a few seconds, to explore the joys of reading a good book. Though they better have money, because some things here aren't exactly cheap. I recommend this store to all people.

I am a remote worker and thought it would be a great place to work and have a cup of coffee. I found the location in the Chesterfield Towne Center to be really dirty unfortunately. The bathroom was gross and hadn't been cleaned in a long time.

When it come to books, I am an old school reader. Audio and ebooks are ok but there is nothing like opening a book and to touching those pages. It makes me feel connected and more intimate with the story I am reading. Well I was in end need of some good reads and dropped by this particular Barnes and Noble. It is quite large and even has a Starbucks inside. There was quite a few people reading and working in the cafe area. I was having a hard time finding 2 books I was looking for. They have a customer service smack dab in the center of store and the man working there was awesome. He helped me find the books I was looking for and more. He made some great suggestions as well. I was looking for some inspirational books to help my mom and he ushered me to the right selections. If you sign up to be a Barnes and Noble member you get free shipping, 10% off all purchases including the first one and access to exclusive discounts and coupons. It is a flate fee of $25 but worth it if you are a bookworm and shop there or on their online store often. I saved $11 on my purchase and also received some coupons. I will back to load up on more books when I finish my books I just purchased. Happy Reading!

I thought this was a quite nice Barnes & Noble. It is built into the Chesterfield Towne Center mall and has a direct open gateway into the food court. It also has an outside entrance from the parking lot. I thought it was quite large for a Barnes & Noble and very spacious, clean, and with lots of nice seats all around. The cafe was also quite large and had multiple parts to it which I think makes a real difference as the quality of the B&N cafe can make it a good place or not to relax/read/chat. Overall a good place!

As an avid reader and lover of literature, book stores are kind of my jam. I visited on a Sunday afternoon. The store was pretty empty as there was only one other customer there at the time. The cool thing about The Book Bar is that they sell books and wine! They also have a bar where they do wine tastings. Although I didn't indulge in a wine tasting during my visit, the wine tastings are free! Although they sell books here, this isn't what you'd expect from the typical book store. I think of it as more of a community space where you can buy and/or read books, sip wine, and enjoy good conversation. They also host events here, including author visits. In addition to books and wine, they sell products from other local businesses. I picked up some banana pudding cookies from here made by The Sweetest Thing RVA. Finally, I can't end my review without acknowledging the excellent customer service I received while there. I was immediately greeted by the staff upon entering the store even though she was helping someone else. Then, the employee proceeded to assist me when she had the chance. She asked me what I was currently reading and if I had a favorite genre. I told her that I like historical fiction and she recommended a book for me. The cool thing is she recommended a book that had references to the city of Richmond, which made the book a nice personal souvenir to remind me of my visit. I can't wait to return! Please check them out!

When you walk in, you'll find a beautiful, welcoming space. I may have visited too soon after grand opening, as the owner Krystle just restocked her shelves. I went looking for a specific book, which she didn't have at the moment (but could order if I wanted!) and bought another that caught my eye. There is also a whole section for treats, self care items, and goodies. I plan to be back and get some work done with some wine from their selection.

They even have a decent number of CDs although they are priced higher than many Goodwills. Staff seems to be all volunteer. The staffer I encountered really knew his books like nothing else and he really understood vintage vs newer and how many different categories were integrated with each other. He also understood how some other volunteers might improperly categorize things and where to optimally try to look. He could tell that I had a sense of the different array of things in the store too. I was a bit surprised when he told me that he was here only part time. He was trying to see if he could give me a discount as he could tell I a bit surprised about the CD price. Even told me if I got one more CD or DVD that it would be $1 more. However, it was near closing and I just kept the purchase I had decided on. Two of the three CDs I got turned out not to be a win for me. Lol that is how it goes. He told me he worked here part time. He may've assumed I would come back here regularly. That person can feel free to reach out via private message if he was looking to build something more outside of the store. He was staying professional- and I was starting to get tired from a long trip and didn't want to hold him up from near closing time. He noticed my unique choose your own adventure shirt (with quality choices on the back) stuck out to him as did several other people in public.

This is my go to of the ones in Richmond. It's closest to me too. Like most B&Ns, it's located in a strip mall so there is a bunch of free and easy parking out front. This B&N is just one level. And everytime I come to this one, I am always able to find the book I am looking for. I've noticed that B&N has a lot of gifts nowadays. You can find everything from puzzles to legos to notebooks. I know they've always had this, but it feels even bigger (maybe something to do with their Paper Source partnership). So if you're looking for a book and some cute gifts to go with it, this is the perfect place to do that. It's organized pretty well too. I typically don't need to ask for help when searching for a book. I've gotten everything from fiction to cookbooks to travel guides from this location. It's never too busy (unless it's a holiday like Christmas). They also have the Starbucks corner like most B&Ns do. I'd recommend coming to this location.
