Love the staff for being so helpful and informative. Also, enjoyed the fact that everything had a description and intentions description

This store is closing and is only open until January 18th. Everything is 50% off. Even the fixtures are for sale.

Impressive selection of gems. They have a nice selection of books. One is on Ayurvedic cooking and I really wanted to look at it, but it was on top of the bookshelf out of reach. The staff is knowledgable and helpful. In terms of value, it's on par with most stores. Herbs, oils, gemstones - all of these things are going to cost a bit. read more

Found this shop on Yelp while visiting Richmond. The staff greet us as we entered the unique shop. Filled with incense, candles, crystals, and other interesting items. I am new to crystals & such and the staff was incredibly helpful. They answered a lot of my questions, their energy was extremely positive and helpful. I actually learned so many new things and I thoroughly enjoyed the shopping experience. I purchased a couple of crystals, many candles, some healing bath salts, incense and more. I absolutely recommend visiting this unique shop and they have a second location close by all in Carytown, Virginia. read more

This has always been and will be the most amazing metaphysical bookstore in the US. Everyone is very knowledgable about the products. I stop by every time I'm in Richmond. read more

The store had amazing products, everywhere which was awesome. The staff...seemed stuffy and uppity. When asking about a product they answered in a way that made me feel stupid about what I was doing. I wont be back, read more

Amazing variety of crystals and apothecary items! There's a whole wall dedicated to raw and tumbled stones that are all affordable and included some I haven't seen anywhere else! Staff is friendly as well(: read more

Love both shop locations. They have a large selection of beautiful crystals. The staff is very helpful too.

I absolutely LOVE this store! They have so much more than some local shops I've been to. They have everything from sage, incense, crystals (necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings), charging bowls, candles, you name it! .. the list goes on. They offer readings as well. If you're into anything spiritual, whether it be crystals or readings - allow yourself some time here. You won't regret it. read more

Awesome items. Got Amethyst necklace, scarf, books, and sage spray. Price wasn't terrible. The young man working was very polite and knowledgeable. read more

This review is going to delve a little more personal than my typical posts, but it's for an experience I'd like to share publicly. I grew up in a conservative household, so visiting a psychic was always considered dangerous and off limits. While this wasn't my first visit to one, it was the most scarily accurate. So let's go back in time a bit. One sunny Saturday morning in May, I was feeling desperately alone and in horrible pain. I was sitting in a hospital parking lot having just undergone yet another medical procedure to find out what was causing the issue. I didn't have weekend plans and hated the idea of going home to an empty apartment. I searched psychics on Yelp and Aquarian popped up. I gave them a ring and asked if there was any immediate availability. I was able to schedule a reading with Kristin for half an hour later. She was in a reading when I arrived so I waited a few minutes. I scheduled 45 minutes for $60. Her title is Tarot Intuitive, Empath and Pendulum Reader, which aligned with my goals for the session. I'm giving you an idea of the timeline so it's not questioned if she Googled me ahead of time to gain some idea about my life. Not to mention, she made comments during the session that she couldn't have found online or otherwise known without special abilities. Among those: - I asked if I'd start to date someone any time soon. She replied by telling me I'd need my gallbladder removed and gave other specific insights into what I'd need to work on interally prior to opening myself up to someone else. The test I had that day was inconclusive, but two weeks later I had another test that diagnosed the problem, was referred to a surgeon, and my gallbladder was removed in mid-June. I'm no longer in daily pain and my quality of life is eons better now. - I told her how alone I felt due to not having a connected friend group anymore. I was isolated away from a few formerly close friends in another city. I still don't know all the details as to why, but I was heartbroken for a long time as I thought they were friendships that would last forever. Kristin told me that with summer's arrival, I'd open myself up to new connections. Nowadays, if I don't have plans on the weekend, it's because I chose to stay home. I've met so many incredibly lovely people in the Richmond area over the course of the last year, and several of those friendships deepened over the summer. I'm so grateful for where my social life is now, and I finally feel like Richmond is my home and I belong here. - I learned about numerology. Kristin told me the past year or so had been a #9 year for me, and I was moving into a #10, which means a new chapter in life. They flow every 7 years, which makes total sense. She also mentioned the return of Saturn between ages 27 1/2 and 30. I was about to turn 28 at the time, so that insight was also applicable. Having more of an idea of how outside forces and energy can impact my life was just really cool to hear. Kristin also knew I'd adopt a pet (my kitten is the best living being I know). She knew I'd switch jobs by the end of the year (mhm). She knew I'd start studying for something (yep yep). And she told me I needed to continue writing, because it grounds me (sounds about right). So far all but one prediction have come true, but I know why that one hasn't yet, and it's because I'm still busy working on myself. I'm not concerned about it anymore. I'm happy with where my life is now. And I really appreciate the reading I had in May. We all have our different opinions on psychics, but if you're looking for an insightful session, I'd recommend this location wholeheartedly. I can't speak for the rest of the store, as I only otherwise briefly browsed. As a final note, I'd suggest transcribing the reading, as it's a helpful memory tool. read more

Looking for some esoteric fun...? The Aquarian Bookshop is hands down one of my FAVORITE places in rva. You can find crystals, tarot, plethora incense (all the high quality ones) sage and other cleansing materials and yes, books. Mainly related to the afore mentioned. A wonderful thing is that they have events! I have been to multiple including a healing sound bath and if this interests you-- check it out! The atmosphere is (9/10) amzzzzzzinng and zen. I say 9/10 bc occasionally you'll get sketchy vibe ppl just coming in to poke fun or be silly and that's not wonderful but honestly in 14+ years that's only happened twice. It is my happy place. The staff are amazing always looking to help with questions and very Knowledgeable without being condescending. Anything and everything I have purchased over the years from here is high quality and I have no complaints what so ever. Stop in but please be respectful to those of us who find peace and happiness in this place. Highly recommended read more

staff is incredible! amazing at answering questions and just being informative overall. i absolutely love the crystal area where theyve got the little baskets with all sorts of different crystals. there's such a great variety. the price definitely depends, a lot of the items are definitely costy but 100% worth it. read more

I really loved this shop! It's a lot different than the one crystal shop in the town I live it. It was super busy inside. They had people doing readings of all sorts, and just called a person's name through the store when it was their turn. The crystal selection was awesome. There were so many!!! I think I bought seven, and that was me holding back. There was a variety of smudge bundles, sage, white sage, lavender, e.t.c. tons of books, large crystals, items for chakra work... anything your metaphysical heart could desire! The only thing that was negative, is that it was so busy the employees were all at the registers, so I couldn't get any answers for my questions. I have a lot of questions about everything in life. I would definitely go back next time I'm in the Richmond area, which isn't too often, but I know I'll be there in May! read more

bought a really cute necklace from this place, such a silly little guy. everything there is really cool and there's a lot to choose from if spiritual items, gems, incense, etc are your thing. i stopped by because i was going out with a few friends and it was really interesting. the people working there are very polite and hospitable! read more

Pretty cool spot. Filled with great scents, energy, crystals, jewelry, incents, trinkets and more. Three visits in two days, and we kept finding something new. Nick was great, he was very helpful with education, inspiration and suggestions. I love the alluring scent of the store. My mother tried the median reader, pure entertainment. Go for the crystals! Today they had a complimentary reiki reader, which is a great touch. read more

What a fabulous shop. The employees were helpful and knowledgeable. A definite must visit if you're in Richmond.

Best new age spot in RVA... and they've been around forever, though they may have changed physical locations a time or two. Tarot cards, crystals, sage, cauldrons, jewelry, clothing... Nice staff who are always willing to answer questions. And they always have everything I am looking for. They may be a tad expensive, but if ordered online with shipping, it'd cost the same, so may as well get it immediately in person. read more

My mom and I came in to get readings done in July and were blown away! We made appointments by phone the day before, which was smart as they booked up. We went in at the same time for our readings to 2 separate women. It was eerie because my mom asked about me in her reading and her lady said the same things about me that mine did! 6 months later, I can tell you that the major things my reader said would happen have happened. The people here are very talented and professional. I highly recommend booking a reading! It was the highlight of our vacation. read more

A really great shop with so many amazing items to choose from! I walked out buying way more than I intended to, but loved every bit of it'

I love all of the staff here at the Aquarian. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful, and they make me at ease when shopping at the store. Their selection is HUGE when it comes to crystals and apothecary items, making it my favorite metaphysical shop to go to. The store is closed because of Covid but they're offering shipping and curbside pickup still, which is wonderful! Overall, I would recommend this shop to any and everyone, for not only quantity, but quality. read more

I've been to their old and new location. (Pre-coronavirus) Nice little shop with a variety of things, tarot cards, books, incense, bath salts tapestries, etc.- I was there for the crystals/rocks. I spoke with someone about balancing my chakras and they recommended a batt salt mixture and a few crystals but they seemed rushed like they'd rather help more regular customers. It could have been my energy as well but who knows. read more

This has to be one of my favorite spiritual supply stores in the area. The staff is always willing to help you find the right items to solve your spiritual issues. They always have a variety of items in stock Mama, Brandon, and Anthony are all very patient and helpful with helping you get things in order. Since Mama wasn't in when I went in today, Anthony walked me through all I needed to handle my affairs with a very personalized touch. Crystals, notions, candles, baths, and books are a plenty in the store too. FYI- the veil is thin... go get your supplies read more

The workers are super nice but I notice they switch very often. I think the problem is the manager, their rude attitude really brings down the relaxing vibes a metaphysical store is suppose to have, I think this is what the other reviews are talking about. I've read it makes people "paranoid" inside the shop and that's because of the managers bad aura. It's really easy to treat people with basic respect and I hope to see change in this store soon. read more

Very fun and beautiful selection of crystals, would recommend going here I plan on going back

Got a nice but overpriced necklace when I stumbled across this establishment the other day. The energy in the store was slightly weird, kind of stagnant/distant/phoney. The physical layout is obviously gorgeous, very reminiscent of the eclectic 1960s-1970s new age movement. However, like another comment said, it comes with bizarre cultural appropriation. Really strange to be of Indian descent and see everyday things selling for almost triple the cost in this shop under the guise of spirituality. read more

Very nice shop. I stopped in here after a weekend in Richmond on my way back home. The store was very nice and the attendants were very helpful. First of all, this store SMELLS GREAT! ;-) Lots of wonderful and interesting classes. Very, very nice, deep and wide selection of gemstones, reasonably priced. Jewelry, books, incense, gongs, singing bowls....It's a metaphysical wonderland. Only downside is parking. There's plenty and it's free, but it's street parking so if you're a horrible parallel parker like me, it's a bit of a struggle, but not awful. Give yourself a few extra minutes if you have an appointment for a reading. Lots of good restaurants all over the place right near The Aquarian. read more

I went in for a reading and to not taint anyone else's experience I won't say who it was with. I'm partial to this kind of stuff anyways and was recommended by a friend to go. There were something that were spot on but so many that were off, half way through the reading I definately felt the person reading me get a bit nervous. Maybe I was reacting how they thought I would or they were having a hard time picking up my vibes but it was a bad reading. Otherwise the store has some super cute and quaint things in there; tons of crystal, gem stones, meditation tools, etc. I would recommend for their goods but not services. read more

If you are a person of color, stay far away. Was followed around the store and staff was very rude and unwelcoming to me.

A Richmond staple for many years. Excellent tarot readings. Fun to look around the shop, but too expensive for my taste, and the staff last time I was in were very conceited and rude! Not the typical vibe in a crystal shop.....makes me uncomfortable so I don't go in often. read more

Despite the usually long line you have to wait in, Aquarian is well worth the wait. Whether you're just there for pretty gems or spiritual reasons, it is an amazing store. You don't feel pressured to talk to anyone, everyone there is super friendly and will answer your questions. They have a large variety of things to look at gems, books, incense, offering bowls, statutes, candles, etc. You'll end up leaving with something! You should definitely come here read more

I'm not from Richmond. I was visiting my parents a couple of weeks ago and found this place online. I was very curious to see what this place was like compared to the metaphysical bookstores in LA. I was not disappointed! This is a cute little shop with a nice nook of books and decent selection of books. There are also a bunch of other little things to look at and buy. All in all a great experience! The staff is friendly and there was even a cute little dog making his was around to say hi. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area!!! read more

Aquarian is a wonderful little shop, full of new agey goodness. There is a nice selection of essential oils, lots of statues and trinkets, a decent book selection, and an entire wall covered in gemstones. They have some great gemstone jewelry, including some gorgeous little moldavite pieces. The herb selection is nice as well, I found exactly what I was looking for. The woman working the shop also gave me more information on healing heartache using specific oils (Frankincense) crystals (rose quartz) and scents (rose water). So I picked up a few extra goodies to go with my heartache-busting tea, and am happy with the quality and price I paid for each item. This shop does classes, sessions, and meditations as well- check out their website for the schedule, or come in for a copy! read more

While I was in the Aquarian Bookshop on Ellwood Ave today, I was searching for a gemstone to purchase as a gift for a friend. The employee who helped me was Tom. Tom was very knowledgeable and spent almost an hour explaining the background of a number of gemstones and the specific areas of the body that they centered on. Tom was patient and ultimately helped me select a stone that met my objective. He was personable, knowledgeable, and I found him to be the perfect fit for the role he played. Thanks Tom! read more
