But when I visited the small town of Brownsville I was greatly surprised to find a wonderful bookstore called BOOKS AND MORE. And I'll tell you it is MORE. The generous proprietress and her daughter and crew have developed a well thought out, well stocked store. Not just books either- consigned clothing, handbags shoes, gifts, cards, maps,and local information. On the weekends she hosts art workshops, book club and writing groups. She is the hub around which Brownsville rotates and they are so lucky to have her. If you are in the area be sure to stop and buy a book or two and say hello. Ask about local history, you won't be disappointed.

Their web site like the print articles are very repetitive. It seams to be more of a platform to present advertising. A perfect example of why the printed daily press is on the way out.

Sometimes vintage can look costume-y but the owners here have an eye for finding quality fabrics and pieces that you can easily incorporate into a modern wardrobe. Lots of bongo drums! Big ones small ones cheap ones expensive ones. I asked the guy at the counter if the drum-playing ever got on his nerves and he said, "only at Christmas". Yobobo also has an enormous array of fun, simple, wood instruments that anyone can play. They also offer unique and hard to find instruments like a Donkey Call which I purchased. You hear it in Crazy Train and a lot of Cake songs. Yaaah! Truly a great store with very reasonable prices.
