The children's nook is so cute! They have storytime here.

I never expected a book store in a suburban strip center to be so incredibly charming! Looking at their social media, I can see they have a lot of events. The community room in the back is available for rent. Of course, their selection of books is really great.

Book Nerd might be the prettiest bookstore in San Antonio! This amazing local businesses just opened up about two weeks ago and is absolutely amazing. They are located in the Castle Hills area inside a shopping center with plenty of parking. The store itself is pretty big and love the open space feeling. I particularly like that they have a huge variety of fantasy, romance and romantasy books which you don't get to see at other bookstores. They also have a children's section in the back which is super cute and they even have some comfy chairs for you to sit with your kid and explore some of their books. I also noticed they have a back room for private events which I thought was great. Definitely a must place to check out for all bibliophiles out there!

Recommend: Yes. The book club I belong to chose this as their meeting place on weekend. The book store has so many neat areas for you to sit and enjoy a book . They even have some outdoor seating areas! They have a lot of cute knick knacks to look at and plenty of books to choose from! The ambiance of very comfortable and the staff is super friendly! The books I looked at seemed to be comparable to Amazon prices. Def go and check them out!

This eclectic and quaint Castle Hills spot will transport you back to the days of neighborhood bookstores and the charm of mom and pop businesses. Book Nerd offers a well curated selection of books, and an absolutely fantastic kids' section. Bonus: They're dog friendly! Highly recommend... cheers!

The look of this place inside is amazing. While I may have not found the kind of books I look for, they have a great selection of childrens, horror, romance, and scifi. They also have greeting cards and stickers. The prices weren't bad either and the staff greet and say goodbye as you leave which is a win in my book.

Nowhere focuses on local, cultural, LGBTQIA, and overall a very diverse selection of books. They also host big events like speakers. Nowhere is about the size of your average Half Price Books and as someone else said, it's like stepping into a grown-up Scholastic Book Fair. Socks, bookmarks, cards, they sell so many things. Towards the back they also have a coffee shop! I need to go back and order a cortado for my review series. You can tell this shop is well-loved. It was extremely crowded. Staff remained in excellent spirits providing top notch customer service. I fell in love with this shop immediately. I was already a fan based on word of mouth. But experience the shop for yourself - you must do it. I can't wait until my next visit.

And would like an alt milk option that isn't nuts, soy, or oat based (like coconut milk!). Free parking in the back.

It is located in a strip mall off Fredericksburg, and it won't be found unless ones looking for it, which I was. It is not a very big place, but it does have a lot of knickknacks, including an impressive collection of stickers, bookmarks, and vinyl records, to name a few. It actually is a pretty neat place. The books are used and for the most part they're very reasonably priced. They do not have an inventory of the books, so you do have to look through shelves, if looking for a particular title. And their staff is only one person at the cashier. Which is to say that you can browse to your heart's content, and discover some major reads. They also had quite a few boxes of books that were under one dollar or $.50. This is one of those places that I intend to return to, because of pricing and to support small businesses. I truly recommend visiting this place. It makes for a fun visit.

The book I purchased sparked a beautiful conversation with the ladies at the checkout counter. I love listening to how others interpret / respond to an author's perspective. It's one of the richest's parts of discussing books. I took my time browsing this cute indie bookstore. I always take my time in bookstores as I walk each isle waiting to find the book that calls to me. I have so many books on my, to-be-read list and when I spot one of them on a shelf, it's like seeing an old friend. The book I chose to bring home with me was, The Selected Works of Audre Lorde. What a gem for only $16.95. I'm going to really enjoy this one. Her work is raw, powerful, and unapologetic. I also bought a bookmark which is something I always do when buying a new book. They just go hand in hand. You'll find many options at the checkout counter. Make sure to take a look at the beautiful journals if you're also into exploring your thoughts through writing.

The staff members were pleasant and helpful. I picked up a couple of books for my niece's upcoming 5th birthday. I really hope she gravitates towards these books I got her. My girls of summer also picked out some birthday gifts for each other. Because I spent just over $100, they gave me a free tote. According to their website, they got their name inspo from this Alexander Pope quote, "'Tis education forms the common mind; just as the twig is bent the tree's inclined."

The books are all in really great shape, many with covers or in sleeves. This is a store to people who are looking to add to their own collection, as opposed to looking for a cheap stack of books that they will then get rid of (no judgment, both practices have their place). Some negative reviews have claimed poor customer treatment, but my experience was the opposite. I bought a really nice autographed copy of "Baa Baa Blacksheep" and also a memoir by Eisenhower's speechwriter (see "eclectic and niche" above). This copy had no price written in it and had a goodwill sticker on it. I asked the lady at the counter how much the book was, and she looked it over and expressed her horror that the old sticker had not been removed. So she gave me the book at no charge and we had a great conversation about a unique picture of JFK's motorcade in San Antonio on the wall. Just a really nice experience.

We came in after noticing the spot while having coffee around the corner. Outside the shop, before walking in, there are several bargain books displayed that help with a visual cue of where you should be heading to. Organization of all records was pretty decent. Everything is spaced out and no overcrowding of records to be found here. You can browse easily without having any issues. I ended up finding a great early Rihanna LP and my partner found a pretty awesome and good quality of an REM LP here too. We were very happy with our finds and the condition the vinyl was when we brought it home to play. Of course you can find bargain records here but their curated records that are priced $5 and up will be pretty good quality in terms of cover and record quality. I think I remember seeing nice juices, beers, and even some energy drinks here that are offered in a cold case? I also saw plenty of magazines and niche zines here that I regret not taking a chance on. You will find something unique and very interesting here even outside of records. I really loved the book area/nook as there are plenty of genres to choose from. I will definitely come back through to browse their selection in the future.
