    Coffee and chocolate gelato

Chilled silky smooth so creamy so delicious Bonto gelato. New in the Pearl District across from Armory theater and down the street from a bunch of eateries to scoop up a creamy gelato dessert, after lunch or dinner. Many flavors to choose. And great convivial space inside to spread out, kickback, meet up, scoop up and lick up lip smacking creamy gelato whipped up from Bend Oregon dairy. Love the Mayan coconut, spicy chocolate and coffee!

Really excited to see Bonta now in Portland! We had been numerous times out in Bend and finally got the chance to check out their new location. It's actually quite spacious inside and they've done a nice job designing everything. The gelato itself is great and they are generous with the portions which I appreciated. Went with the cookies and cream and strawberry. Will definitely be back more once the warmer months roll around. Our scooper was very nice and offered us numerous samples which is always helpful. Thankful to have another ice cream spot in the area now that Ben and Jerry's is gone.

A new gelato spot from Bend! Space is big and open. They got a few fun flavors to choose from, some were a miss though. But the ones that are not are the Straccaitella, Orange Cream, and Strawberry! Some of the better gelatos I've had around here. Will definitely be back for more.

Phenomenally flavorful gelato! Every bite has an interesting flavor profile. My favorites are the the salted chocolate, salted vanilla and Marionberry Sorbetto. There are 2 different chocolate flavors here with very different flavor profiles. So if you'd like a more rich and classic profile, I'd go with Salted Chocolate. Mayan chocolate has a spicy aftertaste. The atmosphere is modern with clean lines, yet it still feels warm with mural art in the background. There's ample seating space. It's a great place to bring a date, friends or solo. Fantastic counter service.

A newer gelato place that opened up in the Pearl area. They took over the old Cosmic Bliss location. I really enjoyed their flavors and have been there twice now. Some of my favorite flavors are their roasted strawberry, brownie + coffee, and peanut butter +fudge. The gelato is very smooth and easy to enjoy. I was told that they will rotate with some seasonal flavors.

space: spacious, warm & brightly lit, family friendly vibe. located in the pear among many restaurants, breweries and bars, so the introduction of a dessert shop is a nice addition to the neighborhood. staff: super friendly and helpful! i was told about the different flavors available and encouraged to try samples. overall service was informative and amiable, and also smooth & efficient. food: there was a good variety of regular and seasonal options available! there's no novel/distinctive flavors, but still interesting choices beyond the basics, such as "lime cream & raspberry" or "orange blossom & poppy seed", so there's something for everyone! they were able to do a split singles scoop, so i got straciatella and pumpkin pie with cookie crumble. usually i'd get a kids scoop at most ice cream shops because they're too sweet/indulgent, but i didn't have a problem finishing this whole scoop at Bonta because the gelato taste is much lighter and cleaner! some flavors can taste more bland/too light (I've tried the strawberry at my last visit and wasn't wowed, but that could be due to strawberries not being in season?), but if you're looking for not too sweet dessert, definitely consider Bonta Gelato!

This week…read morealone I stopped by twice to get some icecream and both time they have been closed and no sign even let you know when they have open. They should be open according to yelp from noon to 10pm, I was here yesterday at 2pm and today at 3pm. Closed! And that is also stupid since the fifty licks store just a couple blocks down closed for good. Means if they are smart with advertising they could get those customer. Well for that you would need a reliable time frame to be open so that even regular customer not scrapping their nose on your windows. Disappointed so much I'll take two stars off from my regular five star rating for them.

Type of cuisine: Gelato and trimmings. Ambiance: Fun, vibrant, colorful and intriguing. Outside, the small tables and chairs available for patrons enjoying their creamy treats remain available as we enter the brightly decorated space. Spacious, tall ceilings, mid-century modern couches and plenty of open space, the area inside is great for enjoying your gelato while watching kids play. Place orders at the counter, to the right as you enter. Samples are available and I quite recommend it! Flavors are decadent, some are interesting and new (Thai iced tea!), and truly a feast for the eyes. What I ordered: Thai Iced Tea gelato, a bambino scoop in the tiniest, plastic serving dish. My sister got her favorite: vanilla gelato with decaf espresso (affogato) and our friends each selected their favorites - marionberry and a tropical one. What I loved: The Thai Iced Tea gelato was a fun, new spin on classic gelato flavors. I tend to steer towards citrus-based sorbets, and this was certainly a decadent treat. Why I loved it: Neighborhood. Cost: Average to High

If I was a billionaire, I'd invest in this shop to open a second location by me in Maine. Small batch and homemade, these ice creams are luscious and delicious. They are not sickly sweet, and they don't need to be. They really let the flavors shine on their own. The thai iced tea is my favorite flavor, though the fresh banana is up there too. The service has always been amazing throughout the years. Got to meet THE Miss Oz herself one visit too! Scoops or in shake form, it's a must visit when we find ourselves back in PDX!

There was lot of seating inside which was nice and a park right next door. Would come back, but make sure to come when there isn't a line or expect to wait.
