As a "high end" matchmaking service, Bonnie Winston's services are quite expensive (I believe that they start at $35K). During our initial consultation, Bonnie told me that she had many ultra high-net worth and celebrity clients and thus a long wait list for her services. So I would be cutting the line. She also told me how she searches high and low to find her clients the right match, including a Grammy artist once. So I paid for a 6 month search. Almost all of the matches that she presented were people who I found and rejected myself for free on dating apps.
Unfortunately, any descriptions of my dates would be a violation of Yelp's policies. So I will just say that Bonnie's definition of the words "handsome," "intelligent," "sophisticated," "successful," etc. are very different from mine. There were also many matches who had a dealbreaker and did not meet the agreed upon search criteria. But Bonnie said that they were "qualified anyway."
I think that it is more accurate to classify this service as a dating service than a matchmaking service. Bonnie will present matches without any regard for what you are personally seeking and then argue that she satisfied the contract. I know what it is to be frustrated with the dating apps and Bonnie convinces you that she is worth the money because she can actually find you a life partner, soulmate, etc. But all that she does is present the first people that she finds on these very same dating apps, who you can easily find (and reject) yourself. At the end of your contract, you will still be unmatched and right back where you started on the dating apps, only you will be out the mini fortune that you paid for this service.
The best advice that I can give anybody reading this is that unless you personally know someone who was matched by Bonnie do not use this service. While I am not accusing anyone of lying, you do not know where the positive reviews are coming from. I encourage anybody reading this to also look at the reviews in the Not Recommended section, as several negative reviews were removed for violating Yelp's policies, including my initial post (but you need to check from a computer; they are not visible via the Yelp app). read more
