Was in Centralia, Illinois and found this little café that had quite a few cars in front of it so we thought we'd try it out. It ended up being really good food with lots of options such as steaks breakfast, etc.. I got the chicken special and my granddaughter got the crab legs and Steak. They had all you can eat bone in wings and also all you can eat crab legs. Everything was well priced. Waitress was very attentive and took care of us very well!! Last three breakfasts ordered: Last one, they said they dropped my toast; I never got it. Time before that, I didn't get my bacon until after I finished breakfast because they said they burned it. When I did get it, it was burned to near ashes. Time before that, the eggs over easy had whites that were still clear. Done with them. read more

The food is always under seasoned... I call it "white people food" because there's no flavor lol The last time I was there was about a year ago. The eggs were under cooked (te egg white was still clear). read more

I'm a local here but don't come here very often. Maybe once every few years. My mother and I decided to drop in and get some lunch. Specifically a cheeseburger, fries and sweet tea! Our burger came with shredded lettuce on the side, other than that no complaints with the burger. It was an absolutely delicious cheeseburger. The fries looked crispy but they were in fact very very mushy. It was gross. The tea was yummy. Then a second round came out randomly and it was unsweet. The service was nice. Meeting cousins for breakfast. Friendly staff put us where we could get together. Waitress ,made sure as we straggled in, made sure we had drinks. When we ordered she helped us decide what we wanted. Our orders came out quickly and correct. Haven't been there before so didn't know what to expect. Mine came out larger than I expected, see picture. We all said how good the food was and the helpers made sure our drinks were always full and hot. I only got thru the top pancake! We will return. They also do lunch and dinner. read more

Fried chicken is wonderful. Beats a lot of fried chicken places claiming to be the best! Service has an opportunity to be more attentive. Desserts could use a bit of an improvement. Music's not too loud and specials are very affordable considering the inflated economy. read more

Name has changed no big deal. It's Bonnie's Cafe now and to be honest hasn't improved. Went to use the restroom overall clean but their cook took the handicapped stall and isn't handicapped. Now food has severed on cold plates so eggs and steak where cold. Steak was their special so I expected a cheap cut and it was 50% fat and Rhine. Didn't expect it to be that bad. read more

If I could give a zero I would. We were excited to try this place because we were told the food was good and my husband loves the Cardinals. I can't say anything about the food or service or decor. We walked in and no one said anything to us but all we could see was dirty floors and counters and left. read more

This place never let's us down. Staff is friendly, the owners are amazing hard working people. My wife and I have visited all the locations they own, and they are consistently good. The prices cant be beat for the amount of food you get. Home cooked meals, clean restaurants and people that are happy to have you as a guest! Occasionally, I get to Centralia to visit the cousins and we usually end up coming to the Corner Cafe for lunch. Coming from Chicago, I have to warn any Cub fans that they really, really like their St. Louis Cardinals here and it shows in the decorations of the restaurant. But they really have that decor nailed. The food is very good and the servers are patient and helpful. The prices are very fair and it is just a great place to go for lunch with just a few of us or a whole table full of family. We like it since it is easy to get in and out and the service just makes things very pleasant. We always leave full and happy. Life is too short and good food is to be enjoyed. OMG! This place is amazing! First of all, the Cardinals decor everywhere is awesome. The food and prices can't be beat either. We had jalapeño poppers, the pork tenderloin sandwich, the ribeye steak sandwich, a chef's salad, the BLT with sweet potato fries, the chicken liver dinner and the two piece fried chicken dinner all for under $50 with the tip! Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

Centralia's best breakfast stop! It's where the locals go for generous portions of good food at a great price. You'll find attentive waitresses and plenty of soda/coffee refills! My favorite lunch item is the full salad with grilled chicken and honey mustard dressing. When we go for breakfast my step-father always orders his favorite, the MVP breakfast special. My mother loves the 'bunt'! That's a half biscuit and gravy and she orders an egg beater on the side. There is something for everyone on the menu. The owners are Cardinal baseball fans and have appointed the restaurant with some great nostalgic Cardinal memorabilia. Note: they only serve breakfast and lunch. We had lunch here. Bright, clean, and busy. Most of the items on the lunch menu were fried, but there were also chef and grilled chicken salads. Half orders were large with lots of toppings. Prices were super reasonable. We were going to try the pie, but waitress forgot it. We took it as a sign to not indulge. :) read more

A local favorite of mine, my family typically goes here on Sundays after church. The Cardinal decor is a HUGE HIT with my 6yr old nephew! I do have to say one negative that is that they do close kind of early on a Sunday? We went to late service @ church one Sunday & by 1pm that afternoon every place in town was already closed? I figured if anyday of the week would be a great day for a family meal it would be on Sunday after church right??? Especially since knowing every other sit down family style eateries are closed as well! read more

The Corner "Cardinal" Cafe is my favorite place to eat. It's a homely atmosphere with very friendly staff. All of their food whether it's breakfast lunch or dinner are decent sized portions for a very fair price. I love all the Cardinal memorabilia. My favorite meal is "safe on second" with eggs over easy extra crispy bacon and french toast instead of pancakes. read more

I've only been once, but that once was enough to know it's a fine dining establishment. I had their famous Bird's Nest and Chef Salad and it was remarkable. The portions are huge for the buck. I recommend the Corner Cafe to everyone. read more
