First impression upon walking in....oh this place feels like it's going to be more than just coffee! We were greeted with a smile and a big hello and welcome. We told her we hadn't ever been there so she walked us through the menu on the wall, gave us the lunch options and I asked if they were still serving breakfast and she said they had a few eggs left so she could make that for us too even though it was almost 11 am. She was patient as we ordered and helped us with some decisions regarding our order. After we ordered and were told they would find us and bring us our food. We walked around and looked at all the cool sitting nooks within the space. They were each unique and presented a different vibe depending on what feel you were looking for. Some were cozy for a small group while others would accommodate a larger group. Neat furnishing and lots to look at. We ordered on latte special called the Gypsy Queen, an iced chai latte and a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. It was all very delicious. This place is a hidden gem that's as clean as a whistle and has an atmosphere that is eclectic making it a very enjoyable eating experience. I ordered the 'Gettin' Figgy with It' breakfast sandwich, and let me tell you, it was so good I almost considered proposing to it. Seriously, if sandwiches could marry, this one would have my heart! It's a delightful blend of flavors that will have your taste buds dancing like nobody's watching. The staff here were friendly. Not a regular but they treated me like one. Asked my name, and still brought my food to my table with a smile. You can tell the staff enjoys what it does. So, if you're in the mood for a delicious breakfast and a side of charm, Rail Coffee Room is your spot. Just be prepared to fall in love with your food and maybe even the place itself. Love this cute little coffee shop in Centralia. We stopped here on our road trip, and it was the perfect break. My boyfriend and I got the chicken sandwich. You get the sandwich with fries and pickles for a pretty good price. The place also has wifi and clean restrooms! The only reason for the 3.5 star instead of 4 would be the slow service. They seem understaffed and the food took a while to come. But if I'm not in a particular hurry, I'd go back. Secondly, maybe things differ county or state-wise - but there were a few people without masks in the coffee shop. The restaurant does say masks required and there's hand sanitiser, but I don't think they're enforcing it. read more

I am truly SHOCKED that I have not reviewed this place yet! For the past six months, every time I am in town to visit my in laws, I make a point to come here. No visit to Centralia is complete without a visit to my favorite coffee shop in town. The ambience is on point, the design aesthetic is fun and eclectic, the people working here are warm and friendly, and so are the people you encounter when you visit the place. The coffee is delicious, and there are so many options outside of the regular coffee, but man even their regular drip coffee is an EXCELLENT choice! I love their grilled cheese and order it a lot, but can't wait to try the other stuff on their menu! Definitely recommend this place to anyone in Centralia, or just passing through! read more

One of our favorite places we ate on our vacation. We arrived a little late for the breakfast menu and they still served us even though they had started lunch. My iced butterscotch latte was wonderful and "the sticky situation" sandwich was perfect. The whole family really enjoyed their meal, but the best part was the ambience. The whole cafe is set up like an old train station with the best decor!! We stayed over night in Centralia on our way to Kansas City and I honestly wished we had had more time to explore the little town. It was like stepping I to Americana. I would love to visit again if we ever find ourselves in the area. read more

Absolutely the worst coffee shop I have ever been too. The snotty, hipster attitude is definitely palpable here. The service was beyond slow, they had absolutely no one making drinks for a good 15 minutes. I came in just for a latte but it took so long that I asked them to refund my money and I left....very disappointed. read more

Their coffee crafting talent is sub par. I asked for 4 shots straight espresso not thinking ANYONE could mess that up. I know I can be difficult at times but jeeeze! I ask for exactly what I want 4 shots expresso, 3 pumps sugar free vanilla over ice with a SPLASH OF HEAVY CREAM. Yuck! I got half a cup of heavy cream and it was discussing. I get it, you're trying to be a small town hip joint, you got the cute look but NOT the product to dish with it. And to top it off "the new girl" tried to charge me more than what Starbucks charges for the same thing! Not close! Not impressed. Cool place, lacking in talent. read more

RAIL has been a fantastic addition to Centralia's downtown and we (locals) are in awe of the positive vibe it has brought to our community. Chris and Rae Ann (owners) are wonderful folks and their sense of style, quality and service has set a high bar. The ambience is joyful and it's "a happy place" to relax, meet and greet, or even schedule a serious business chat. As a restaurant, the food selection is somewhat limited, but everything we have had in our many times here has been tasty and "just right". If there was one thing that could stand adjustment, at least to me, it would be a wider selection of breakfast pastries. read more
