You can get an enjoyable experience every time, well almost every time…read more Very helpful staff and aim to please but due to staff shortage and high attrition rate, the service experience suffers especially within the pharmacy section. Things are not always bad but also not always great, the importance is in the attempt to make them better.

After moving to the West Island a few years back, I had transferred my file here since it was close…read moreto my house and conveniently open until midnight. It all goes downhill from there. My review is strictly based on my experience at the prescription counter/pharmacy section. The wait to get a prescription filled is oddly long regardless of what time or day you visit, having waited a half hour on more than 1 occasion with barely any customers present. They used to have great staff at the counter who were professional, and kind but now the staff has completely changed and they are rude and very unpleasant to deal with. Every single time I go I witness an unpleasant exchange of words between a staff member and a client, not acceptable. They have also made errors in entering my insurance information making me have to pay upfront and return for a refund after my insurance company confirms that my coverage is active, but staff incorrectly entered my birth date or coverage info, and then of course returning for the refund I got attitude from the staff member and no apology for their error. Tired of dreading going to pick up a prescription I finally switched pharmacies and what a difference. I've even called and left a message for the pharmacist when switching my families file to another pharmacy to speak to him about my concerns and as expected, never got a call back. Funny thing, when I called the nearby Uniprix to switch my file they automatically guessed which pharmacy I was transferring my file from, guess I am not the only one!

We are longtime customers, since the 90's. The sales-team pressure has been increasingly annoying…read moreover the years: They are constantly pushing their spiel and their promotion no matter your objectives and best interest. They insist that you change frames and are persistent... Extra commission for frames? If you ask enough questions you will pull apart their strategy and get on a path that suits you, the customer. I would encourage anyone to do their homework and get estimates elsewhere. It is a convenient place to go but do your homework first and know what you want.

I've been coming to New Look since the 90's and have always been satisfied with their services but…read morethis last visit left a bad taste in my mouth. I made an appointment because I wanted to get new contact lenses. I also wanted to change the lenses in my glasses but keep the frames since they were a little over a year old and still in excellent condition. So I went through the exam and Lisa Hsu was very professional. Because of my medical history, she advised me to delay getting contact lenses at this time and just change the lenses to my updated prescription. Fine, I can respect that. So she passed me off to an older sales lady. I told her I wanted to change my lenses but keep my frames. She asked me why and informed me that they were having a 2 for 1 promotion on glasses. I replied that I didn't need new glasses because I was perfectly happy with my current frames. Then she said my frames weren't trendy and started showing me glasses that weren't my style at all. She talked to me in a condescending manner the whole time. Afterwards, she told me two glasses would cost me over $900 and I should put down a $200 deposit. I told her I didn't have that kind of money and I just wanted to get my lenses changed. She looked at me like I was stupid for not taking advantage of their promotion. Then she asked me how much money I brought with me and said she'll accept whatever I had. I was turned off by her desperation for my money. I didn't want to give her any of my business and got the hell out of there. I decided I was going to shop somewhere else where they'll respect my wishes and give me what I want. Sorry lady, you lost yourself a customer. Word of advice: listen to your customers and don't insult them if you want to make money off of them.
