The crepes were perfect and delicious. They have a variety of options from sweet to savory [I tend to like savory more]. The staff were really friendly and accomodating to our diet restraints. I love the ambiance of the cafe; as someone who has been to Paris it gave the appeal that I was there again. The prices are pretty fair especially compared to some other creperie options in town. Parking however can be a challenge; that part of Selby ave is limited for parking due to so much in that area. It would however be a perfect idea to either walk, bike or even catch uber/lyft and venture to some the neat shops in the area.

The savory crepes are light but filling with some traditional offerings and some less, like L'Italien (pizza crépe). The sweets choices are varied and scrumptious. And one of their most unique offerings is the croffle -- a sweet waffle made with crépe batter. Light texture, subtle flavor, and some straightforward toppings and other combinations that are show-stopping.

The restaurant is spacious and bright. Even though there's tons of seating, spots fill up fast! I came around 9am on a Saturday and was seated right away, but by 10am the entry room was full of people waiting for a table. -- The Northwoods Hashbrowns are absolutely delicious if you're craving a savory breakfast. The portion is huge and can easily be shared. The default hashbrowns are on the softer side, so I like to ask for it extra crispy so you get a better bite. It has the perfect amount of spice from the jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. -- The 49er Flapjacks are like the denser cousin of the crepe. The texture is so velvety and the butter just glides on. Absolutely delicious when it's smothered in butter and syrup. The 49ers are thin but they take up the entire plate, so it's still quite a bit of food. -- The cinnamon roll pancakes are arguably better than a standard cinnamon roll. It's the flavor of a cinnamon roll with the moist fluffy texture of a pancake. They do not skimp out on the cinnamon sugar filling or the maple cream cheese frosting. -- The cold brew is nice if you're looking for an iced coffee option, but it does taste a little watered down. It does not come with any refills. -- The thick sliced bacon is around 1/4 inch thick and is flavorful. You can ask them to cook it to your desired crispiness level.

My cheesy hashbrowns were great. The avocado benedict was also very good. It was the poor service and having to wait 20 minutes for the check that lost a star on the review.

Surprisingly, although not exactly appealing to the eye, the food is not all that bad and you might beat a long line. Freshens, as the name suggests, uses fresh ingredients with which you can create your own rice bowl or a crepe. Sort of like Chipotle, you get to pick what goes in your food or just select one of the existing recipes they suggest, like the Italian Rice Bowl, which was always my favorite. It's simple in flavor but it does make for a nice light lunch. I've never tried any of their crepes but some of my old coworkers have and they seemed to really enjoy them. Plus the crepes are a little bit more food and therefore I imagine more filling. Prices are fair for the mall, not any different from any other fast food spot you could go to. They have couple of tables you could eat at as well, so you don't have to walk all the way to the actual food court. This place is not to be confused with Freshii which actually is in the food court and has a similar concept but I don't think I like their items as much as these rice bowls. Like I said earlier, the biggest thing Freshens has going for it is the location in the mall. It just never gets busy because pretty much no one knows it's there. Another nice feature about this spot in particular is that they have real fruit smoothies which just makes for another healthier option if you're craving a little something while shopping. Small stand but nice selection of items and it doesn't taste all too bad and you have pretty much no wait.

Well thinking I would go to Pho Hua instead, I pulled intonthe Shuang Hur Grocer's parking lot thinking I'd grab a few things before heading north on Eat Street. Then I saw signs on the Shuang Hur building for a (new to me) Vietnamese joint in the same building. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! My Huong is an 8-top hole in the wall across the parking lot from the rear of El Nuevo Mariachi Restaurant. The place is homely, small, but brightly lit and plenty of day light through the picture windows overlooking Eat Street. It's a big contrast to Pho 79 type places that are dim and short on ambience. The clientele shows. Instead of just a bunch of Asians throwing down Pho, it's a mix like you'd see at Quang or Eat Street Crossing. I was seated right away, was greeted by a cheery Vietnamese lady, and ordered Hu Tieu Bo Khu (Beef Stew Noodle Soup.) It was a dish I haven't seen before even though I have been to so many Vietnamese places (see my other reviews and lists.) The dish came very quickly, and I was shocked that they didn't bring it with a veggie plate. Oh well. Well the best way I could describe Hu Tieu Bo Khu, its basically a pot roast over noodles. So the beefy broth like a less spicey version of Bun Bo Hue, with flavors of lemongrass and star anise, nicely garnished already with what would have been on a veggie plate. The broth was delicious, slightly sweet with the carrots, and the beef was fall apart amazingly stewed with deep flavor. There were other menu items like Curry Chicken pho and a Stewed chicken rice dish I'd have to return and try!
