Croissant - Best Croissant in SF!, Chocolate Croissant, lemon scone.
Camille M.

First time coming here after seeing ads or a post about it. Food: the iced mocha is yum and not too sweet. The pastries are yum, the lemon taste of the scone is not too powerful that it overtakes the experience. The croissants are flaky! Service: nice staff! The barista is cool . Ambiance: cozy and relaxed. Planning to return again.

Tucked away in a residential area very close to a Burlingame High School on the opposite end of Downtown Burlingame is Bonjour Bakehouse. It's a fairly large open space with some casual small tables for outdoor dining. Service is very charming, especially if you want to practice your French. I bought a cookie here for $3.75 to bring back as a treat for the office. The price point is a little high for a cookie though. They have some interesting lattes here: Ginger turmeric latte/chai $6.75/$5.75 -- sounds intriguing

Strawberry scone

Stopped by around noon on a Sunday-was hoping to try a croissant but they were out. I'd seen their cookies at the airport before so I decided to try a rainbow cookie and one of their strawberry scones. The scone was amazing! Buttery and soft but with a nicely crisp exterior-it was so delicious I went back to buy two more for later. The rainbow cookie was great too-definitely pretty sweet though so would eat this over two sittings. We were able to easily find street parking. Would definitely stop by again next time we're in the area!

Caramel latte and suisse chocolate pastry

A little neighborhood gem tucked behind 101. Honestly, it was a bit difficult to find parking within the block of the cafe, but definitely could find some parking in the residential areas. The cafe was busy - all the tables outside were filled with customers and so was the inside. The team member was friendly and patient while we scoped out what to order. They had a nice assortment of pastries on display and they look very fresh. I got the suisse chocolate pastry, which was really good. I kind of wished they would offer to heat it up, but it was fine. For a drink, I got a caramel latte. The coffee was nice and strong. I'd come back to try a different pastry. They had interesting flavored scones, even savory ones too.

Great creative selection of pastries and drinks. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Line and service move quickly too despite the crowds. We ordered the chocolate croissant and a London Fog. Prices though are on the high side. The croissant was a winner - delicious and great lamination. Four stars though because the London Fog was pretty disappointing. Quite small for the cost and I probably could have made it better at home...

3.5*** Rando place that's right across from an industrial building and surrounding area so, it feels like you're lost and plus parking isn't great. Despite that, service was great. There's seating inside and outdoors. It looks linked to an actual kitchen - guessing that's why it's called Kitchentown. Taste testing done on site in addition to production? If so, that's efficient! The food looked yummy! Ordered: Egg-tine 7/10 The black sesame seeds were good but then the sunflower seeds adding with the cheese in the center, uhh, it was ok. I took off the center - see pic of actual product with the center in tact. That made it taste better. The croissant was my fave part - crispy yet flaky and oh so soft in the middle. Jamon fromage 10/10 Basically, a ham n cheese croissant. This was delish. Unsure if you've eaten at Croissante; but, their jamon fromage isn't that great compared to this. Theirs has mayo, which completely throws off the taste for me. In any case, this was a success. Latte 3/10 Way too milky and not enough flavor.

Almond Chocolate Croissant

I really loved this Almond Chocolate croissant! came here on a friday morning and there was no line. usually i prefer just Almond croissants because with chocolate it's always too heavy and I can never finish it, but this was just right and so tasty. very cute location but there isn't much seating would return! my one thing is I didn't see too many options left and I got here around 11:30am?

salmon scone

honestly, if I'm in the area, I would want to stop by Bonjour. Any chance that I would get? For a small business bakery, that was on my ones former clients pastel. This is a gem for anything breakfast pastry. Their scones are simply the best I've ever had. I even went for a salmon scone, which I don't normally go for savory, but it hit the Marc. The service was really good and the ambience was a sitdown café with outdoor seating

What a gem! They had a very nice spread of pastries - especially a big variety of scones. The staff were friendly enough and were helpful in giving recommendations. We ended up getting the seasonal apple scone, the always sold out cinnamon roll, a butter croissant, a pancetta scone and a ham and cheese croissant. Everything was really delicious and I really liked the size of their pastries - they were just right. The item that surprised me the most was definitely the pancetta scone, it had so much flavor and the pumpkin seeds were a nice touch. There were plenty of seats and the coffee was good too.

Plum scone
Jason X.

Such a fun find on the edge of the city! The scone was so light and fluffy - I want to try them all. The apple turnover was also quite good: flaky, not too sweet/balanced flavors. It's a fun vibe inside with people excited to start theirs days with some delicious pastries.

Bonjour Bakehouse is a hidden gem located near SFO in a quirky residential area. They offer coffee, teas, both savory and sweet scones, and some unique pastries. The pastry selection is incredibly large so its normal to feel overwhelmed. There is no parking lot, only street parking so expect a little walk. There are a few outdoor tables as well as some inside tables. There are two gender neutral restrooms which both have baby changing stations which I would say is very thoughtful for families. * Lemon scone - very soft and more cakelike in texture. Lemon flavor is strong but not overwhelming. The sugar glaze makes it a bit sticky and counteracts the tart lemon tang. * Cinnamon roll- *only sold on sundays* This was delicious! The cinnamon roll is light with a crisp exterior and delicate notes of cinnamon spread throughout the pastry. The cream cheese frosting is decadent and creamy. Its a good ratio and doesn't feel too heavy to eat by yourself. * Salmon scone- I ordered this because I was craving something savory. It was pretty small so no more than a few bites. The bagel seasoning on top adds texture and grainy salt bits. The salmon is soft and smoky. It was good but compared to the other pastries, it didn't stand out to me. * Caramel latte (hot) - it was lightly sweetened, with balanced coffee flavor and milk. The coffee isn't too acidic and very easy to drink. I like that the drink wasn't too sweet so you could enjoy the pastries together. Bonjour Bakehouse stands out for their wonderful selection of high quality pastries and solid coffee options. If you're looking for overly sweet specialty coffee, I would look elsewhere. They serve authentic coffee using Ikon Coffee beans. Their outdoor patio is great for soaking up some sun with your pup.

I tried Bonjour Bakehouse cause of TGTG and enjoyed the scones. I'm usually not a scone person because they're dry and hard. But not here, liked the softness and taste. Definitely will be back to try other items Street parking is tough.

Delectable croissants, scones & many baked goods at Bonjour Bakehouse located at Kitchen Town, an incubator for food businesses. Located in a mixed residential & commercial industrial area of San Mateo that borders Burlingame, street parking is a bit hard but getting to this bakery is worth the effort. I suggest getting here earlier in the morning as they do sell out. We enjoyed the chocolate croissants (called Chocollini), lemon scones and plain scones which were all very very good, with good texture and flavor. Prices are reasonable. Coffee and other drinks are available too. They also offer sandwiches and savory baked items. Indoor and some outdoor seating. We will be back to support this business.
