Usually I go to the one in Antioch since it is close to my house. But I was in the area and I…read moreneeded to get a few things, so I ended up going to this particular Safeway. I visited this store once a few years ago, so I do not remember much, but I never recalled them installing security gates at that time, so imagine my surprise when I found out they ended up installing security gates. The location in Antioch has them too. The layout is different than the other location too. The Pharmacy is at the front of the store next to the flowers, the Produce section is wide, the Butcher Counter is in the back, and there is even a Wells Fargo bank inside. The other location does not have that. I think my biggest problem is the fact that they don't announce when check stands are closing. I went to one in the Cosmetics section (which was in an enclosed area, similar to what Walmart does) as I needed to get something there. Since I was only getting a few things I decided to pay for them in the Cosmetics section. A customer in front of me told me this register was closing. I responded with "Okay, thanks!". And then I ended up going to Self Checkout. Now why didn't the person at the register told me they were closing? Anywho, I paid for my stuff, and left (after I scanned my receipt at the Checkstand). Nothing as bad as everyone else made it seem like, but it could have been better.

I don't even know where to begin, so I'll say this as nice as possible..... Go some place else! How…read moreit's 1 cashier mid day with extremely long lines is beyond me! I was a big water spill near floral that employees just walked past constantly. I literally had to go find a worker to tell them to put cones out with signs! This store lacks common sense, customer service, good management and cashiers. Then not to mention the armed guards, good grief it's ruff here.

This market is literally 2 minutes away from my house, however I'd rather drive down to Mi Tierra…read moreon Willow pass, Cardenas Market or La Superior both on railroad Ave. This store is cheaper than the ones I mention above but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! Their fruits and vegetable section is FILTHY with rotting fruit and vegetables out for you to "buy" there are fruit flies as well. I've attached two pictures taken on Wednesday Jan 23 2025. Also like other comments mention the cashiers are not very friendly either.

I've been coming to this store since I was a child, and it holds a lot of sentimental value for me…read more I remember the previous owners and how different the experience used to be. it pains me to say this but Unfortunately, under the current ownership the quality has gone way down. The produce is often spoiled or expired, and it's still put out for sale. Prices are also very high, especially for items that aren't fresh. I'm giving two stars purely out of nostalgia--otherwise, this would be a one-star review. This store used to be a dependable neighborhood market, but it's clear that things have changed--and not for the better. The current management either isn't paying attention or simply doesn't prioritize customer experience. One of the biggest issues is the checkout process. The cashiers, mostly younger women, often spend more time gossiping with each other than helping customers efficiently. While it's understandable to chat during slow moments, it becomes a problem when it delays service. Many of them seem distracted, and it shows in how slowly they bag items and how disengaged they are. Multitasking seems to be a challenge for some of them, and the checkout process ends up taking much longer than it should. Only one or two staff members consistently provide quick, professional service. Beyond that, the store seriously needs to improve the freshness and quality of its products. Additionally, the store could benefit from paying closer attention to quality control. With a few improvements in staff training this place could regain its former reputation
