Best food ever and nicest people nice place very friendly great service with a smile love that

Last night (2/15/15) a few of us on motorcycles headed up the hill for a nice ride, and to grab a drink and some food. The food was great! Try the BLT & Avocado! Decently priced. We were having such a good time, we didn't realize it was night by the time we were ready to leave. My girlfriend was cold, and saw they had some cool looking sweaters for sale. But they were a lil pricey at $54.99. But the awesome waitress who had been serving us drinks at the bar straight up gave her sweater off her back so my girlfriend wouldn't be cold. That was cool as hell! My girlfriend was very thankful. I would highly recommend this place!! Awesome spot to ride up to from Sacramento. read more

I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I had requested my Bachelorette party involve Whitewater rafting, so my amazing Maid of Honor booked us a beautiful home in the wine country area near by Placerville. We heard about Bones while wine tasting at TooGood Winery, and learned that Karaoeke would be happening our first night in town. Not expecting to have much to do in the evening, we were thrilled! We showed up (after a lengthy pregame at the house) around 1130PM, and we simply took the place over! There were a few locals still hanging around, and they welcomed us rambunctious and loud bachelorettes as we sang the night away. The bartender was so nice, and actually quite a good singer!!! Such a fun and random night in this 'biker' bar, but they were not the rude biker's I'm used to in San Francisco who are snarky at anyone who isn't like them. I was sooo happy to stop at Bones last weekend, as i was nursing a hangover and knew that good, greasy food was the only remedy! At first I expected it to be a ribs place (bones=ribs?), but they actually have a small menu consisting of burgers, blt sandwiches, and hot dogs. I went for a classic cheeseburger (even went with American cheese, although they had other options). The beer was super cold, and they bring out frosty glasses as well! You end up with a nice little bit of ice slushiness on the top--nice touch :) We ordered some jalapeno poppers as well, which were good but not very spicy, and at $1/popper, not exactly a steal. Back to the burger--it was juicy and delicious! Their "bones sauce" is kind of a creamy dijon, which I liked but a couple of my friends who are not big mustard fans did not (I know, who doesn't like a little dijon?!?) GREAT!!, 4 of us stopped in while doing the El Dorado Passport wine weekend Sunday 4/21.Reccomended by a gal at Holly's Hill wiinery (great wines). A lot of Harley's out front, busy inside. Our server: Rebecca,(think Penny from The Big Bang Theory-in a good way!) very competent, great sense of humor, made the lunch fun & enjoyable. Decided to look for a different place to go with our 'classic car' friends. Bones welcomed us with open arms. We caught them by surprize and they were short staffed but the girls kept up (with a smile) and the orders were filled quickly. You could hear "wow..this burger is great" "look at the size of this hot dog!" "man..this sandwhich is delicious" coming from all around the room. So.....second thursday each month. 4PM till... Burgers are good and juicy. French fries over cooked, onion rings good, Philly cheese steak - not sure what was going on with the cheese tasted like nacho cheese. Meat was good, but not enough of it. My fiancé's family first introduced me to Bones. After that, I was in love! The Bloody Mary with all the garnishes can be a meal itself. The burgers are so delicious. You can never go wrong ordering the cheeseburger with a side of garlic fries!.... until recently. This visit was horrible. It wasn't the burger or the staff (they were GREAT), it was the GARLIC FRIES! The staff informed us on the change of supplier, and it was evident...from the taste and the looks of it. It was so thinly minced that there was no spice or flavor left. :( Even if they didn't so kindly share with us the fact, we would have noticed it immediately! We made it apparent to them of our opinion of disapproval. We will not be coming back until the garlic fries are fixed! So please fix them & I will edit my review to 5 stars! FYI- we tried the garlic fries at Poor Reds. It was amazing! Tasted almost like the old garlic fries here at bones. read more

Very high 3 stars. Great friendly service. Burgers were delicious but the bread was a little too thick for me though the BD liked it that way. The hotdog for my kid was a gigantic size but the bread was a little harsh for his mouth (not the normal hotdog bun). I loved the wings. I really like wings that are breaded and fried. BD is particular about his wings but he thought it was okay and better than most places in placerville. I would order them again. The highly recommended onion rings were cut very thick and when fried it wasn't cooked long enough. The outside breaking was brown and similar to the rings at Denny's (which I love) but the inside coating was still doughy and close to raw. Fries were a thumbs up for BD. Wish there was space for the pool table that used to be there. Great divey biker bar place. read more

I ate at bones today Saturday I've eaten there before and the food has always been good and the service is excellent today I had a hamburger let me tell you that's the best hamburger I've had in years I'll never eat another hamburger anywhere else but bone I will always highly recommend this place to eat read more

This burger is a day ruiner, in the best way possible. Need a greasy spoon, you found it. Was craving ribs, burger sounded good to. Nice funky/riff raffy crowd (older harmless bikers and locals). Had a burger with pepperjack, grilled oninons, hot pastrami, and bacon on marlbe rye with an eye of the hawk. Tasted amazing, but it just about gave me a heart attack. im 28. only complaint was the upsell. i ordered the burer, she said you want bacon, pastrami, avacado? i said yup to the first two. She said grilled or raw onions? i said grilled. dont get me wrong, they awesome and gived the cost i would reorder it, but the bill came and each upgrade was $1.5-$2.5. She never said the words would you like to "add" or "upgrade", they were presented as standard faire. as a customer thats my bad for not reading the menu and her good for flawless added $5 on the burger. read more

This place is great! We went out of our way to go here (a little confused by the map in the area), but we were all so happy that we did! Great food! Great music! Great food, and great service. We got burgers and ate outside with our dogs. Waitress was very attentive and brought water out for them. Fries were crispy and great with garlic. Onion rings were awesome too. Definitely worth it ;) only complaint is that avocado was $2.50 to add, bacon $2.50 to add and garlic was an extra $1.75. Awesome awesome burgers!!! what a great way to wind down a day of winetasting. My personal favorite has to be their avocado burger. Juicy, flavorful, and perfect. Beer is ice cold, as nature intended. Don't let the biker motif fool you. This is one classy joint. Onion rings are PERFECT. I do prefer thin cut crispy fries, but these larger cut fries are terrific too. read more

Every time I am craving a bloody mary, this is where I head to. I'm pretty sure that they have the best bloody mary in town! If you order the "top shelf" bloody mary, you get wonderful additions like pickled green beans, asparagus, celery, salami, cheese and a pepperoncini. Be careful, as this drink might fill you up with all appetizer additions! The food is good here, and fits the traditional "roadhouse" style. One suggestion I might have is to offer a different type of appetizer. They currently offer jalapeno poppers, or spicy mozzarella sticks. Both of the appetizers are too spicy for my liking, so I stay away from them and just order the garlic fries, which are delicious. As for food options, this is a tough one for me. I am a vegetarian, so of course I gravitate towards the black bean burger. I do give them credit, for at least having a vegetarian option on their menu. The restaurant has a homey atmosphere and you can tell that many of the customers that come in are regulars. It is fun that they do karaoke sometimes on the weekends, and there are a lot of people that stop by for the music. It is also a plus that they offer outdoor, and indoor seating. We have also brought a friend to this bar who is confined to a wheelchair and he was able to move about in the seating area quite well. THINKING ABOUT BONES ROADHOUSE MAKES ME HUNGRY!!! Man was that some good food! This review is long overdue, but driving down 50 today brought back memories of them delicious burgers. Let me just preface this review by stating that Bones is a BAR. It is not a huge restaurant like Texas Roadhouse, Logan's Roadhouse, etc. If you do not like hole-in-the-wall divey places with tons of character then save yourself the read. Otherwise, let's review! QUALITY/SELECTION: 5/5 Bones is a real bar with a solid selection of brews. I believe it is over 15 on tap with many more bottles. I got the Moose Drool, which is always a nice beer after a good hike. I did not expect much from the food after walking in the door. Not too many bars actually satiate my food desires. I was not left wanting here. A fat 1/2lb patty with some peppers and a ton of fresh, FRESH grilled onions formed an amazing medley in my mouth. I LOVE onions on everything, and these were perfect. Even the bun(which is normally the worst part of the burger) was delicious. I with that I remembered what is was made from. Additionally, I tossed some sweet potato fries in the mix. Very good choice. Top of the line sweet potato fries. Some may argue that it is hard to mess up sweet potato fries, but until you have had top notch ones then you do not know what you are missing. Also, I hear that the veggie patty is to die for, even if you are not vegetarian. AMBIANCE: 4/5 If it looks like there are some bikers out front then I know that it is going to be a great place(bikers are some of the best people you can meet fyi.) The parking lot is surprisingly large. I came on a weekday so I do not know how crowded it can get on a weekend, but there is lots of parking. Inside has a very large 3/4 wraparound bar that connects to the view-able kitchen. Plenty of tvs and entertainment, along with a large pool table and a few seated tables near it. There is an outside patio with many more seats. What you will notice if you are coming from the freeway is that this place is FAR! Miles of windy country roads with no street lights or signs. Man does that make me want to ride my bike down there. While it is definitely scenic, it takes awhile if you are hungry. My only other gripe is that the pool table is stationed dangerously close to some other inside tables. More than once I had to modify my shots in order to not hit somebody. PRICE: 4/5 Average price for brews, below average for ballin' food. Not crazy cheap but I can't complain. SERVICE: 5/5 Awesome service! Sat down at the bar and was acknowledged immediately. Even if the bartender/server cannot take your order at that moment, I respect the work ethic of someone that say "I will be with you in a moment." Anyways I was able to order extremely fast with a waitress who gave me tons of information. She relayed that information to the chef a few feet behind her and he got to cooking. She went on to serve a few other while having playful banter with other employees and basically every patron. As I basically watched my food get cooked in front of me, I can say that my service from kitchen to table was extremely fast. Beer service was quick as well. Had to ask for the check, but I should have expected that sitting at the bar. OVERALL IMPRESSION: I was sad that I could not make it out to Bones today. It is not too often that I have a burger that blows my mind. This review is making me rather hungry, so forgive me as a leave and attempt to create a burger on par with theirs. We love to come up this way to go wine tasting on a pretty regular basis and last time we were up we were told about Bones. Yesterday we made a trip up and decided to try it out. We were more than pleasantly surprised. Burgers were huge and to die for and the onion rings were PERFECT!!! We will definitely be coming back. read more

Love this place! If you are out in Pleasant Valley - this place is not in Placerville - you can't go wrong! Great bar, lots of seating, good selection of beer on tap and the food - at least what I had - is awesome. I'm vacationing in the Placerville area and found myself looking for lunch. This place is sort of a bikers place as the name implies but the food was good and staff was friendly. The hamburgers are so greasy, I cleaned out the napkin holder from all the grease that came with every bite. I love hamburgers,however the cook needs to let the meat rest just a bit so the juices go back in the hamburger. He puts them on the bun right away and then the bun is soggy. read more

This place just isn't the same. Burgers are still good but the staff has changed and the "cheers" vibe of the place just isn't there. Now its just a local biker bar. Nothing to make you want to go there. If you just happen to be passing the place and want a burger then you should stop in but I wouldn't tell you to go out of your way to go there anymore. Bones Roadhouse has a family-friendly atmosphere, great food, and affordable prices. The cheeseburgers and sandwiches they serve are huge and for some people can be split into two portions. Instead of napkins, you're given a roll of paper towels - That's how juicy everything is! There's a bar which serves drinks at reasonable prices (at least an ounce and a half per well drink), and flat screens for sports fans placed all over. A great place for a family dinner out, hanging out to watch the game, or listen to karaoke on Friday nights. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Highly recommended, especially if you like burgers. The pastrami sandwiches are to die for! read more

Was going through Placerville to take a look at a house in the area, saw this place on the way up and our realtor said we should stop for a cocktail on the way out.. glad we did, ordered a burger, BLT, and the garlic fries. Definitely did not disappoint, the BLT was stacked with bacon and had a massive amount of avocado, decent portion size, the garlic fries were really tasty with minced garlic and roasted garlic cloves! The beers were ice cold and the house vodka was one I've not heard of but it was pretty good too! read more
