Two seperate business trips both time we stopped in for dinner. First visit wr had Hanna where she was great but they didn't have Apple Crown or Vanilla Vodka. Food was great on this visit. We stopped in again this past Monday and our server Brittany wasn't all that great. And for some reason the food was different. Poor presentation, lack seasoning compared to last time. And again they don't carry the new popular flavored alcohols. The floors are greasy, the host this past Monday ignored us so we sat ourselves, we watched as employees were texting on their cell phones, and there waitresses stood in the entrance hugging on boyfriends while our drinks were dry. this will be the last time. there may be the pandemic to deal with, but I expect more from an establishment like this. a 45-minute wait for food. replenished bread that was offered twice and never brought. when the food arrived none of it was cooked correctly. steaks overdone and fish had dried out. one entree wasn't even completed, had to be sent back. the manager made a pitiful gesture of taking $20 off of a $140 bill. that's not just pitiful it's insulting. standards have plummeted off the cliff and they won't see me again. read more

Normally like this restaurant chain but this location is a hit or miss !! Mostly miss !! Food is always good but the service can be disappointing especially when eating on the bar. My daughter and I dined at this location last night. We made reservations via the website and arrived a few minutes before our confirmed time. Upon arrival we were told they couldn't find our reservation. I showed the host our confirmation and he replied "that he has turned others away tonight due to being backed up" He located our reservation, but instead of the 7:00 time I had selected (and had confirmed in an email) it was under 7:30. We decided to wait despite the fact that others around, who were walk-ins and reserved guests both, had been waiting for extended periods of time. We figured it was a Friday night and we would not have luck walking in somewhere else. After an hour we were seated. A family beside us had been waiting for 2 hours. I heard the host tell pretty much every guest who checked in for a status update that "they were next". I think this is what led to so much frustration. Clearly everyone was not "next" and when they would see customers leaving and others being seated before them, they'd become angry. The host was not handling the situation well and was very flustered. Once we were seated the server was wonderful and the food good. The server was helpful when I was selecting a wine and offered a few recommendations and tastings. Our filets were perfectly cooked. Came here twice this past week for the 1st two times ever. Tried a couple years back and the lines were too long to wait. Had a pleasant 1st experience the 1st time with my wife and special relative from Vienna, Austria. We enjoyed the food and service. We came early to avoid the rush. Last night was very different, disappointing, frustrating, embarrassing, and unaccommodating. Our retired cousin was spending her last evening in the states with us and wanted to go back to Bonefish. We made reservations so that we would have no line and be seated when we got there. We invited and added my sister and 83 year old Mother who both traveled over an hour to get here for our special dinner. Our reservations and nicely dressed clothes we wore got us a seat at booth in a bar with the NFL draft on TV and the noise level of a bar. When our server sat us I immediately asked her to move us to the dining room due to the evening we expected and reservations being made. She asked the hostess, who told our server, who came back and told us we would have to go on the waiting list and wait outside for 30-40 minutes with the rest of the customers who did not have reservations. I told her that wasn't going to work so we stayed in a booth in a bar. This is a mall location restaurant and many people are dressed very casual to say the least. We were dressed in business attire(no jeans, no t-shirts, I was in an open collar and sport coat, dress slacks....you get the picture). 30 minutes into our meal the owner came and asked about our food and service. The food is very good here and I asked to speak to him away from the table about our situation. I told him about the special night planned with my cousin, my 83 yr old mother, my sister, my wife and I and that we were seated in a booth in a bar and nothing was done to fix it. I politely told him what happened, he was unaware we were not happy with our location in the bar. Hostess and/or waitress should have made him aware when it happened and they were aware of our dissatisfaction. He asked if he could do something special for my foreign cousin. If I wanted hats and songs and a big hubbub we would have gone to any Mexican or chain restaurant that does that kind of thing. We wanted a very nice dining experience was all. We got a booth in a bar. He added some free deserts onto our $150 meal. Nice but not acceptable. From now on we will go to Downtown Grill, or Angelia's, or Carraba's or ANY other restaurant for special,occasions. In a booth in the bar is where i expect to sit if i show up, put my name on a waiting list and I'll take 1st available seating. A booth in the bar is not a reservation quality location for any restaurant customer who made a reservation. If I want to hang out with my buddies and watch sports on TV and sit with people in shorts and t-shirts and have a couple hundred $ to blow then Bonefish in a booth in the bar will suffice. My husband and I went To Bonefish for our anniversary and we had the best experience! The food was amazing and we had the best drinks! Our server was great and the manager Kelly even stopped by to check on us & to chat about how they made their smokey old fashioned. I accidentally left my purse on the chair and Kelly found me on social media to tell me AND went above and beyond the next day to meet me at Bonefish to pick it up. Thanks again!!! read more

Although this is a restaurant chain not all locations are the same primarily due to service and professionalism. This location in Macon is a delight to go to as everyone is courteous, attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. Maybe some of the other locations should have their staff trained here so that they understand that customer service makes all the difference. This location gets 5 stars on service! I gave the three stars based on the fact that it is a chain and that limits the food creativity and selection that is offered. read more

I don't typically like chain restaurants but I do enjoy the food at bonefish. It's mostly older people and families in here so it's usually pretty quiet but always packed. I think it's completely overpriced but they have some really nice options and it feels a bit more upscale than the other restaurants at the mall. Happy hour is really good here and the service is exceptional. I love their salads but if you add chicken to a simple,house salad expect to pay over $20 after tip. Star off for that...The interior is not as nice as other bonefish grills and the floors are dangerously slippery! Had a great meal, good service, and the price was reasonable. The meal started with a heaping pile of Bang Bang Shrimp. My first time, YUM. I had the London Broil with Crab Cakes and asparagus. The steak was done perfectly and the crab cakes were remarkably moist but still solid enough to lightly cut with a fork. The asparagus was very tender, but not mushy. The meal was expertly prepared. We thought this fancy restaurant would be a great place to enjoy a Father's Day eve celebration. Not so much. Had flies landing on the table throughout meal. Manager happened by, I mentioned the fly problem, he explained they come in the front door which closes slowly and he had no way of controlling them. While I am not in the restaurant business, I found a few suggestions from google which were appropriate for dining rooms and chemical-free fly lights. He could try a few. Also, my daughter's ahi tuna bowl cake with brown avocado on the side and the tuna was filled with stringy fat. BoneFish is one of my favorite restaurants. I've never been to this location. Every seat in the house was taken. Our waitress was super sweet and none of our kitchen issues was her fault. We ordered the special for the night that came with one appetizer, two salads, three signature sides and four meats. Our food took a really long time. We watched our appetizer go to three different tables before we received it. Not worried because the house was full and luckily the appetizer wasn't sat down at these three different tables. When our entree came it didn't look appetizing and it was cold. The tuna was overcooked and a brownish grayish color(it's supposed to be pink in the center, seared on the outside). The steak was raw and bloody (it's supposed to be medium according to the waitress). The salmon was overcooked and the shrimp were just right. The waitress didn't tell us we would be charged for upgrading sides, her words were (you can get anything for your sides) when the bill came we were up charged. She should have let us know instead of saying "you can get anything". The manager came over to address the issue with the food, mainly the tuna. He says I think it's supposed to be that way but I'm not sure. He said he'd take off our appetizer (the appetizer was a part of the promotion so he took $7 off) and gave us one $25 gift certificate to use next visit. That was really kind, but I most likely won't be back to this location because the food wasn't good and now I understand why this place has 3 stars. We have dined there several times. Inconsistent is the word I'd use. Some meals have been fantastic while others have been sorely lacking. We dined there on a Monday night. There was hardly anyone in the place, we were there early, yet we were immediately informed they were out of fillet steaks, ribeyes, trout and sushi. I ordered fish which was fantastic. My hubby ordered a crab cake and sirloin. I swear, the crab cake looked like it had been cut in half and he was only given half of it. He said everything tasted ok, but nothing to rave about. Had 2 margaritas and they were good. We also had the bang-bang shrimp and it is consistently good. We've been before and he ordered the pad-tai and it was lukewarm with rubbery noodles. I normally get the Longfin Imperial, but they are currently not serving it. I was quite disappointed as it is consistently good. read more

Bonefish Grill is one of our go-to places in Macon for consistently good food and cocktails in a casual environment. Reservations are recommended as it is often busy, especially during peak hours. Parking is convenient in a lot shared by other businesses within the Shoppes at River Crossing. Service is generally friendly and as a bonus you will often find the manager walking around making sure you're pleased! They offer a seasonal menu and cocktails in addition to their regular menu. Our favorite from the regular menu is the Chilean Sea Bass with Pan-Asian and Lemon Butter Sauce. The blueberry lemon drop is a must try if you enjoy sweeter cocktails! Sign up for emails and enjoy special events such as wine pairings with specialty menu. Definitely recommend for a nice evening out. read more

01/21/2022 - One of the best service experiences I've ever had at a restaurant! The waitress, Jennifer, was the best and quickest ever. My boyfriend and I had went out for his birthday, so it was just the two of us. He had been wanting Bonefish Grill for a while now. When we got out of the car, I said to him "watch this be the worst service ever," namely because of the time of day - 2pm. I couldn't have been more wrong. All of our food, from drinks to appetizers to entrees, came out quickly. The shrimp and mahi mahi were a 4 out of 5; only because they were a tad bit over cooked. Other than that, everything else was perfect. Bonefish Grill, if you see this, I would suggest you hire an entire team of 'Jennifers' if you can. We will definitely be back soon. read more

We have been coming to this Bonefish Grill at the holiday season for years and it has definitely gone downhill. The service was fine, they were busy but our server was attentive and nice. The food was really lacking. We ordered a $15 cheeseburger and they didn't include a bun! No joke. My daughter had to wait while they prepared one with just the meat, cheese, & toppings on her plate. I got the $20 shrimp and scallops meal and there were three rubbery scallops and five flavorless shrimps. The chowder was inedible, not even the teen boys would touch that. The calamari were so overly breaded that it was hard to tell if they were really in there. The only good parts besides the service was the standard fish and chips. We've already decided that our family dinner out next year will be at Carabras or Jim Shaw's. We are done with Bonefish Grill. read more

Great place for a delicious appetizer and martini. I normally come on Monday to enjoy Martini Monday. All martinis are only $5! Wow...who doesn't love a discounted martini. They have also recently started a happy hour with discounted drafts, wines, and select mixed drinks from 4-6:30pm. TIP: Make sure you tell your waiter you want the $5 martini on Monday otherwise they'll charge you full price. Sneaky sneaky. My favorite dish is the spicy tuna bowl. read more

The portions of food are getting smaller and smaller. One of the worse things is their lack of cleanliness. We sat at a table where the vent was above us. The vent was filthy with dust coated on the grill. We called the waitress and showed them the dirty vent. She was very appologetic and said she would mention it to the Manager. We stopped in here for a drink and an appetizer before going to a family celebration dinner next door at another restaurant. Therefore, I can only offer a review of said appetizers since I haven't had dinner at this location. I have had dinner at other locations though and for a chain, the food is fabulous. Usually, when we visit Bonefish, we try out whatever the chef's recommendation or specialty available that evening but I have also had the Chilean Sea Bass and the sea scallops and shrimp. The sea bass is a bit pricey for the portion but it is cooked to perfection and worth the extra cash. As for sauces, I love the lime tomato garlic and the Mango salsa. In my opinion, both compliment any fish well. I you like a zesty, tangy, bolder taste, the tomato garlic is awesome, but if you prefer a more mild accompaniment, then the mango salsa does the trick So... on to our experience Saturday... We arrived early enough to get seats at the bar and it wasn't terribly crowded. The bartender(s) were pleasant and had our drinks out fast. I almost feel like a sheep admitting that we ordered Bang Bang Shrimp. I know... I know... everyone gets that... where is my sense of adventure?? Lol. I have to admit, it is so good. Every time! Never overcooked, soggy or over seasoned. Also tried out the Cold Snap fresh ceviche. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly suprised! I've never had ceviche with scallops in it but they added a nice texture to compliment the entire appetizer. I do wish that, for the price, the portion was a bit larger. I hate to give this place one star, but they've earned it. The past couple of times, the meals were really bad. Our most recent meal (Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos) were absolutely awful! The shrimp were overcooked, the lettuces was old and brown, the sauce was off. They previous meal was steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. The seasoning was off, the steak was dry, and cold. This is my first visit to the Bonefish Grill in Macon. I was not as pleased as I was when I visited the Bonefish Grill in Illinois. The atmosphere just wasn't there for me. The music was too loud, people are hanging right outside the revolving door "MOOOOVE".... The Bang Bang Shrimp was okay and I had the Lobster Thermidor it was just okay. I've lived in coastal cities my whole life, and have always therefore had the fortune (by choice) of being able to have fresh seafood (virtually) whenever I craved it, without having to resort to Red Lobsters or Bonefish Grills to sate my desires. Bonefish Grill seems to be the more upscale of the two, so I had high hopes for it, bit the food just did not match my standards. Not even close. Because, see, I have standards, and I'm not going to give money to a mediocre establishment simply because they are the only option around. I'd rather just forgo what I'm missing and then eat the real thing when I visit the places that have the real thing. The "Bang Bang Shrimp" is the only decent thing worth eating on the menu, and even then one must acknowledge that you're eating something that is A) deep fried, and B) smothered in sauce, thereby negating any sense of food integrity that the item may or may not have once had. Their cocktails (that they like to pretend they are "famous" for) on paper sound like decent cocktails that you'd get at a nicer bar in a real city. But of course, the reality is that they TGIMcFunskter them up by adding way too much sugar to appeal to the Sex And The City set of clientele. read more

This was my first time going visiting Bonefish Grill (period) and I was pleasantly surprised. I'd seen the mixed Yelp reviews so wasn't quite sure what to expect. Our waitress was awesome, giving her taste on some of the dishes. Our bread was nice and warm. We ordered calamari as our app, I got the Atlantic salmon with pan Asian sauce (which was bangin'!) and the Mr ordered the lobster tails. I'm a picky eater but did try the lobster. Yummy. For dessert I got the macadamia nut brownie (which was rich and delicious -but not the cream it was topped with- though I didn't have room to finish) and he got the creme brulee. One of the "nicer" places to go out and eat in Macon- I have to say that it is their cocktails that keep me coming back time and time again! If you go during dinner time almost any night of the week you will probably encounter a wait... even if you have a reservation, which is a little bit annoying. That being said, everyone is super friendly and nice and the food is tasty- maybe a little expensive. I like that they do change up their menus a little bit from time to time offering a few different items seasonally. Nobody I've been with has ever had a bad dish or experience. We always get the calamari when we go and I like that it comes with fried red bell peppers as well, the dipping sauce is a yummy slightly spicy one too. They are known for their bang bang shrimp and have a great Tuesday night special (I think) of $5 bang bang shrimp. read more

If you can combine happy hour drinks with some of the appetizer specials, you have a decent meal / date situation. Great place to eat. The food is always very good to be a big chain restaurant. The prices are very good the servers are very efficient. They always know their menu. The downside of the servers is they rush you too much. You never feel like they want you to chill. Feels rushed. The front door hostesses that we have experienced do not smile and are not kind. Worst bonefish I have ever been too. I love bonefish, and I actually worked at one in Tennessee throughout undergrad. First time I went the waitress disappeared and 30 mins later I asked a different waitress for the check. My waitress never came back. I decided to try it again for a celebration w my friends. Two of my friends food came out and they were done eating when my fiancé and I's food came out. My tuna was burnt and so was his dinner. I could tell it had been sitting under the heat lamp forever. The manager came out paid for our food and gave us gift cards which was great. However, we ordered to go food today and it took forever for anyone to bring the food out to us. I was also on hold for over five mins to even order over the phone. Very disappointed in this bonefish. Sad I won't be eating there. read more

Yes, it's a chain and has a lot of "chain" qualities such as bland decor, etc. but I still love this place. Food is excellent, never any complaints. The bang bang shrimp, fish tacos and BFG cheese dip are all excellent choices. The drinks are creative and change seasonally, so it keeps things fresh. Service is typically outstanding, the servers are polite and attentive and give just the right amount of attention. Highly recommend - unusual for a chain. read more
