This place is very cute, cozy, and tucked away in the upper east side. They serve beer, basic cocktails and solid bar bites. The chicken tenders were meaty and full of flavor but their fries are my favorite. If you're looking for a bar where you can relax, and chat with friends while out, this Is for you. The servers are also really nice and attentive

Bondurants is a nice little bar on the Upper East Side - good spot to meet friends for happy hour. We came here on New Year's Eve and snagged a table by the window and got $10 margaritas before 7PM and $14 at the regular price. We all split the Chicken Tenders ($15) buttermilk brined, house-made fried chicken tenders, served with a biscuit, honey butter and bbq sauce and the Tater Tots ($8) large, hand-rolled shredded seasoned potatoes, fried and served with spicy ranch & ketchup. These were more like big fried hashbrown balls than the traditional tater tots everyone knows and loves, so not sure why they call them that. Service was a little slow here, but overall a good spot to grab drinks in the area.

I'm actually surprised that I haven't reviewed Bondurants before. This is a great spot on the UES. All of my visits have been with my UES running crew as the first few visits were after our Shack Track and Field run. More recently visits have included running related celebrations for our marathoners, and even running friend birthdays. They have a great beer selection and always have sours on the menu which I appreciate. Their food menu is also really good. We tend to get things to share, some favorites have been the quesadilla and the chicken strips (which comes with one of their tasty biscuits). Others have ordered the burger and mac and cheese as well which they have enjoyed. The bartenders are always super nice. If you're not sure if you like a beer on tap, they'll let you taste it. I know if I lived in the neighborhood I would definitely frequent this place a lot but until then, it's a running related hang spot for me.

A MUST on any of our visits to the UES. Amazing atmosphere, we love sitting at the bar but this time we got a cozy little spot on the side. The food is just incredible and the service was quick and friendly as always!

Great spot for drinks and food with a chill atmosphere and the perfect music levels to enjoy a conversation. Pricing is right and portions are big. Southern inspired food and drinks and good service. Will definitely be coming back and would recommend anyone to try it. We came around 7 on a Friday no reservation was needed.

Excellent bar food but it is super loud and crowded in there. The tossed chicken tendies and blue cheese were the star of the show - perfectly crispy! The IPA fries were good too and so was the burger.

I stumbled upon this bar a few months ago and have been back several times since because it is simply that amazing! Their service is always attentive since day one! We originally got a wobbly table and without even having to ask or speak up the waitress was on it to balance the table to ensure we had the best experience. I've also been on a look out for good wings (boneless wings) since moving to the UES and let me tell you, these are it! I always order their tossed tendies because the chicken is great, the flavor is amazing, and their ranch is actually good! I am a big fan of their ever changing drafts menu because it's always a new drink and experience when I go. I highly recommend this place as it's quickly become one of my faves in the city

Very chill and affordable bar/restaurant to visit. My friend raved about this place so I decided to check it out with her. We went on a weekend night and we were seated quickly. It was not packed at all. The waiter was really quick with helping us and everything came out in good time. We only ordered sodas to drink. For my meal I tried the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It was sooo delicious! All of the ingredients came together perfectly and there was a good amount of each. I'm happy it came in a panini instead of regular bread too. I'm also a fan of arugula so this was perfect for me. It's a nice place to hang out and talk. Music wasn't so loud or anything. Overall I had an awesome experience and I'll definitely be coming back to try something else.

Excellent food & drink! We got both flavored wings - sweet and spicy and buffalo plus a refreshing and simple arugula salad. Atmosphere is chill, my husband and I were looking for a place to take a break from all our walking after being at the MET. Perfect casual stop on a Sunday. The service was great too, given how busy it seemed.

Roundabout Brewery type place with a big selection of mildly overpriced drinks. $13 a drink. 3.25/5 stars as a day bar.

    Ask the Community - Bondurants

Your restaurant comes up as Dog friendly on yelp, is that true ? :)

We wish! When the windows are open, it's great for pups to sit outside while their pup-parents can enjoy a drink, but unfortunately only service dogs are allowed inside.

How much are the cocktails? Is there a happy hour?

The cocktails range from a house mixed drink at $8, to a specialty cocktail up to $14. Whiskeys vary greatly. The happy hour is from open to 7pm, M-F and includes $6 house mixed drinks, $6 red or white wine, and $1 off all draft beers.

The biggest question then became, where to go? We needed a place that was relatively easy to get to that would hold close to 100 people. Jungly was a contender for several reasons - it's location, size, vibe, and menu all seemed to check off. It also helped that I had done business with the owner previously at one of his other spots. It seemed like the natural choice, so I went ahead with the booking. Jungly is located in LIC - it's a pretty convenient spot as its close to the LIRR and the subway. Parking can be a challenge, but luckily I found a spot only a block away. The space itself is nicely set up - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with dining areas both to the left and the right. Due to our size, they closed the place to the public and we were able to freely roam the bar area and one of the dining rooms. In addition to standard tables, they have some lounge space and high tops by the bar. The vibe is somewhat modern - a black/grey color scheme paired with neon and golds. It looks like the space could easily be converted to a club-like atmosphere. Since we were here for a private event, the food was set up buffet style - we chose three apps, four mains, and two sides. Ultimately, for apps we chose pita bread with dips, steak tacos, and shrimp tacos. For mains we chose fried chicken sliders, smashed beef sliders, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken. For sides, we got fries and Brussels sprouts. In general, all of the food was tasty; the strongest dishes were the tacos, fries, and the chicken tacos. The tacos were generously filled, the fries were the crispy skin style, and the chicken sliders were nice and crispy. The weakest for me was the cacio e pepe - not much flavor and just not really a standout IMO. My communication with management to set up the event were a little staccato, though in the end everything worked out. For the most part, my communication with them was consistent in the days leading up to the event. Service the night of the event was overall good - they were very accessible but I found that they could have replenished the food a little faster in response to the rate it was being taken from the buffet. The bar, on the other hand, was great - both in service and variety of liquor available. Overall, we had a great event at Jungly. They were professional, fair, and delivered on the goods. I would definitely consider hosting another event there, or dine here on my own.

The bartender, the one person who should be welcoming and engaging, came across as rude and lacked any charisma. On a Friday night, good energy behind the bar makes a huge difference, and that was completely missing. I ordered a margarita, which is one of the simplest and most common cocktails to make. I asked for it really sweet with plenty of salt on the rim. Instead, it came out barely sweet and with almost no salt. For a $17 margarita, I expected much better. I've had to return the drink because I've had better margaritas for $12 at other places. While waiting for my friend, I had to wait with a glass of water because I didn't trust the way they made the drink. The bartender told me I either needed to order another drink or move, which felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. To be fair, the food was good and the space itself is nice. However, the bar service left a very poor impression. There are plenty of more affordable places where the staff are friendly and make guests feel welcome. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place. Give this place a 6.5
