HUSBAND: Let's go to pick up some White Lava. ME: What?…read more Lava isn't white and what are you going to do with it. HUSBAND: No, no... it's that waterproofing coating that we used on our former house's walkway and outdoor deck. I want to apply it to our lanai floor. ME: Ok, so since you're talking about it, I take it that YOU've already looked for a White Lava supplier? HUSBAND: Of course....I found All Weather Surfaces - HI through Yelp. My husband sought out All Weather Surfaces - HI as he's been wanting to waterproof and create a non-slip surface on our current condominium's lanai deck. After calling to confirm product (White Lava) availability and retail sales to the public (since they're listed as building supplies and deal mainly with commercial accounts), we jumped into our car and drove off to Halawa Valley. This company is located on Iwaena Street in O'ahu's Halawa Valley. They were easy to find and have several assigned parking stall for customers fronting their business. Entering into their sales area, we found well-organized displays of multiple protective coating brands (White Lava, Neogard, carboline, Sika, Pratt & Lambert and COOLWALL), applicators (paint rollers, brushes, etc), reinforcement mesh and various other tools needed for painting. Admittedly, I was mesmerized with all of the different products and their specific uses. But, we were there for the White Lava products. We were pleased to have met with Gavin Abe, as he was the one who spoke with my husband earlier. Gavin was honest and forthright as he provided us with more information about White Lava and the best ways to apply the product to our current lanai. He also determined the quantity of product needed based upon the dimensions that we provided. This product is excellent on prepared plywood or concrete surfaces where there is high foot traffic. The smallest container of the White Lava was 1 gallon. We were surprised to learn that this product can custom tinted, too. Our interaction was pleasant and educational. It was very nice of their inventory or warehouseman to carry our purchases to our parked vehicle. Thanks to All Weather Surfaces - HI, your White Lave product has made our condo's lanai is easy to clean as its new painted surface minimizes dust attraction while protecting it from Hawai'i's sunshine, salt air and rain.

With over ten years of dried sunbaked dirt accumulation on my solar panels, I was skeptical it…read morecould ever be cleaned. But when Kale offered to do the job at a very reasonable price, I went for it. Boy was I surprised at the results. The panels looked as if they were just installed on the roof, so shiny and clean. I also had them clean out my gutters, in preparation for the rainy season. I had no idea I actually had a garden growing in my gutters. They serviced all of the gutters clearing them of all debris, washing them clean. I wholeheartedly recommend KB Ohana as the one to call for solar and gutter cleaning. Very nice people and reasonable price.

I hired KB Ohana on September 30, 2025 and paid $2,000 for three things:…read more 1. Cleaning my solar panels, 2. Removing pigeons nesting under the panels, and 3. Installing bird proofing to prevent them from coming back. Despite this, the pigeons were still on my roof afterward. Because my home is two-story and my spouse and I are both over 60, we are not physically capable of climbing onto the roof to check whether the work was done properly. We relied entirely on the company's honesty and professionalism. On October 29, 2025, I texted the owner, Kale, to let him know the pigeons were still present and asked if he could come by to check the bird proofing. I even offered to pay for the visit. On November 4, 2025, Kale came out, went up on the roof, and checked his work. He told me he found one area that was not secured and said he had made the necessary repairs. Afterward, he sent me an invoice for $150 covering: inspection & labor bird spikes additional bird proofing wire a minimum travel fee I refused to pay for the inspection & labor, bird spikes, and additional proofing wire because I strongly believe those materials and proper installation should have been included in the original $2,000 job. I only paid him $50 for his travel. Unfortunately, the pigeons are still there. On June 5, 2026, I hired a different company to inspect the bird proofing because the problem continued. They recorded videos of KB Ohana's bird proofing and found two unsecured gaps that were still allowing pigeons to nest under my panels. I shared those videos with Kale at his request. When presented with the video and given a chance to respond, the owner stopped communicating altogether. On June 10, 2026, I followed up with Kale asking for a response to my concerns and my request. I have not received any reply from Kale or anyone at KB Ohana since then. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend KB Ohana. I feel I paid a premium price for work that was not done thoroughly and for follow-up service and communication that were completely inadequate.

You don't have to worry about their standards and honor when it comes to providing the service agreed upon. They even go above what most will do!! 7 years ago they did a wonderful job refacing my 1950s kitchen cabinets with glossy white laminate (still love them!!). After constant use with 2 rough growing boys a few of hinges were a little off. I called them and they stand by their work even though honestly it's our fault for yanking the cabinets open and close. They repaired the hinges and left some for future replacements. Who does that anymore? Stand by their work and quality products! On a Saturday morning too! Furthermore I asked them to replace some shelving and they helped me reinstall the sliding baskets which I planned to do but so thankful they did it for me! Their level of quality, service, and friendliness is sadly hard to find these days. They lay down blankets and clean up every spec of debris (plus some, as they helped wiped down my cabinets while they were working on the hinges!!). They are worth more than their quotes price. Trust me. I trust them 100%. 7 years later and they still do not cut any corners and have very reasonable prices for their quality services. Highly recommended!!!
