Additionally their exam rooms are very comfortable with couches and dog beds rather than exam tables and hard chairs. We love the staff and the clinic!

In retrospect the policy of being assigned any vet who is available means that no one vet has a working relationship with your dog or his/her human. At our last visit, the exam room, although comfortable, was much too small for a large dog, two owners, the Vet and her assistant. It would be impossible to check out the dog's gait in such a small space had the vet thought to do that and the atmosphere was chaotic. . Less than one and a half months later our 9 year old Golden was diagnosed at Angell with incurable cancer with a very large tumor on her left back flank and it had spread.. Of course we knew Goldens, even English Cream Goldens, do have high rates of cancer but we did not know that there were numerous ways to try to prevent and/or discover the cancer early. Although not always successful owners should at least be informed of these methods. Giving the minimum and only very necessary inoculations .was one. Our dog was given a Lyme disease injection with no discussion whether she needed it or how effective it was (both debated in the vet. literature). Our dog's cancer primary tumor was at the place of this injection. Maybe the injection did not cause her cancer but maybe it did. In addition I learned from the VEG emergency vet, owners of senior large dogs often elect to have exams twice a year starting at age seven and with imaging to catch any suspicious growths in or outside of the dog. The vet did find two small growths and pronounced them non-cancerous. It would have been better given the dog's age and breed to aspirate them and look under a microscope. I informed Heal Vet of the death of our dog but have yet to hear back from them. I finally called today and was told I would receive a card but it would take several more weeks. These sweet animals are only treated by vets who treat "exotic animals," (i.e., not a cat or dog) and there aren't many of these vets. I needed to make an appointment for one of them to be seen. The immediate situation was not considered an emergency, but could turn fatal. Making an appointment for my pet was not an easy task. I was finally able to get an appointment yesterday, for today (approx 24 hours ago). As life goes, life happened. I was not going to be able to make the scheduled appointment, I found out 1.5 hrs before. I called to apologize and wanted to reschedule, my pet still REQUIRED care. I was informed that because I am a new client and need to "cancel" my appointment (I asked immediately to reschedule), that Dr. Binder has recently stopped allowing this. There is the 24 hour cancellation policy(yesterday, when they called me to make the appointment), also my appointment slot could not be "filled in time". Time for what? To recoup that lost 'new patient' fee? I asked if they would please double check with the doctor. I called back (1 hr later) to find out the answer. As the receptionist had explained earlier, the doctor said "no." I stated "this is important." The response given was "THERE ARE OTHER DOCTORS!" (rudely) It was difficult enough trying to find a vet that could treat exotic animals, let alone trying to schedule an appointment! It is obvious that they are NOT concerned with the welfare of every pet. "Compassionate care for your fur family" Straight from their webpage OBVIOUSLY that quote is questionable, if not just FALSE. From the very first phone call, when we spoke with Brenda and explained our story, we were met with nothing but kindness, compassion, and understanding. It meant more to us than she probably realizes. Dr. Rosenblatt examined both of our newly adopted fur babies and helped us get Wall-E scheduled for his neutering at just the right time. Sam and everyone else on the staff made us feel so welcome. You can tell they genuinely love animals, and that love carries over to the people who walk through their doors, too. They provide a free brief exam and medical advice. No emergency care is provided. If you have been seen there before for vaccinations, keep the documents they give you. You will need them for your next visit. They keep a record of your pet's visits, which consists of an index card with pet information and services provided. There is a limit of twenty-five pets seen per day. If you get there after 8:00 AM, there are already twenty-five people there, and you will not be seen. There is always a line and it starts at the side stairs, not at the front door of the building. I made the mistake of using the front door entrance and was sent to the back of the line, which was on the side of the building that I did not know existed. Cats have to be in carriers and dogs have to be on leashes. They ask for a donation.

Usually after a vet visit, he'll sulk, hide and hold a grudge for at least six hours, but after visiting Dr. Singh, he was totally chill. My husband went on the actual appointment, but he said that Dr. Singh was reassuring our cat that he is loved, and that his calm demeanor really seemed to soothe everyone. We're relieved that our favorite friend is in excellent hands now, and would recommend Akaal to any pet owner, but especially to those who have cats who are a bit difficult.

I was triaged right away and felt the team there did a good job letting me know my wait time, diagnosis and results came in and options for treatment and payment (and payment plans if needed). While waiting, you're in the back where they're doing the treatment for your pet and others. Everything looked clean, clean and organized, and I immediately felt I had brought Buddy to the right place for his care. Buddy ended up needing to spend the night for monitoring and I felt informed and assured he was in the best care. When he was discharged the vet and Vet techs made sure I had Buddy's necessary medications and answered all my questions before I left. I felt I went home with all my questions answered and clear instructions on what to do next each time I've called with questions. I've gotten answers fairly quick no matter what time of day it was. I hope I don't need to go back to the emergency room, but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate to come back here.

Dr. Estes explained everything clearly--what was happening, the prognosis, and what we should do next. The techs / nurses--Kim Nguyen, Kendra Baker, and Jennifer Ducharme--were also wonderful: professional, patient, and very caring. They were attentive throughout the entire process while our Pomeranian was undergoing sedation, and you could tell they genuinely cared. I'm sure they see situations like this every day, but they still treated our dog with the attention and care he needed. Small things like that matter. These are clearly very capable people who could work in many different fields--including human medicine--but they choose to care for pets, and it shows. I would absolutely recommend this clinic and would return again if needed. My one tip: call ahead so they can prepare for your arrival.

Spent over $1,300 for a consult and spay just for them to be closed for 2 days in a row with less than a 24 hour notice. Waited over 30 minutes at the initial consult appointment. Day of the spay appointment, I drop my cat off at 8:00 AM and was not even given a phone call with an update. Tried to call them for an update at 1:45: PHONES OFF!!!!! Called at 2:00 PM to find out the my cat has BEEN SITTING IN A KENNEL AND STILL MOT SPAYED! She was not spayed until 3:00 in the afternoon with the excuse that "it's busy" but they'll put her under and give her something to come back up. AN 8lb CAT?! She's not a science project. She was in a kennel for more time than she was in recovery which was a little less THAN 2 HOURS! Arrived at 5:30 for the pick up and Waited over 15 minutes in an empty lobby until someone decided to step out from the back. Brought my cat home with oral gabapentin and she could not tolerate it. Was advised by a TECH to continue giving oral gabapentin when my cat was clearly adversed to it and told me to call back if she was still having problems. Tried to call back and they were closed from 12:00 on Friday until that Monday. Not even ONE doctor on staff? Closure announcement made LESS THAN 24 hours in advanced AND made through their GOOGLE ACCOUNT? Not even an email or automated phone call to inform patients? Sketchy business, sketchy service and I will NEVER go back. I will be letting everyone I know to steer clear of this vet unless they want to spend a grand for lousy service.
