This was my first time ever trying Bonchon, and honestly, it lived up to the hype for my taste buds. We ordered the tteokbokki and the Seoul Sampler, which came with four wings, Korean street corn, and pork potstickers. The wings were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside exactly how Korean fried chicken should be. The pork potstickers were flavorful, and the Korean street corn was a nice, savory side. Now the tteokbokki definitely not for the faint of heart. It was spicy as hell, but if you love heat, you'll enjoy it. everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. On top of the food, the customer service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Overall, a solid first visit, and I'd definitely come back to try more items on the menu. read more

We came here for lunch with a party of 6 and ordered the k meal to go (but we had it to stay hehe). It came with 6 drum sticks and (I think it was 12) wings and two sides. For the sides, we got the seasoned fries and fried rice. They were family size portions! The fries were good but the rice was a little hard so I wouldn't recommend that one. The drum sticks were HUGE and perfectly crispy. The soy garlic was really good. We also got japchae and the marinated chicken tacos. I loved them both but wished there were more noodles in the Japchae instead of it being overwhelmed with onions, peppers and scallions. It is a small place but we got seats. The service was amazing. Food was quick to serve and everyone was so friendly. I'd definitely come back for lunch again. read more

Soy garlic wings are really good and the drum sticks are gigantic. The spicy kbbq one was way too spicy for me though ! We also ordered japchae, the bulgogi fries, and "pork" dumplings that were veggie dumplings instead but oh well ‍... I wasn't going to stand there and take a bite to see if it had pork in it. As for the customer service- I could've taken off a star for that but it wasn't a serious matter. When I got up to the counter to order, I was interrupted by the cashier who looked past me to the guy behind me and then asked if we were together. I said no, I'm here with my mom, who was next to me. Then the cashier continued to ask the guy if he was here first. The guy had responded both times to say no. Finally the cashier looked at me and asked what I would like to order. No apology or explanation for those questions. It's a rather small store and it was a relatively short line. There was a couple in front of me who had ordered and moved to the side. I didn't even have to take more than two steps to get to the counter. It wasn't even a race issue because the guy behind me wasn't of the same ethnicity which I've encountered often enough because folks just think we are ordering together as a family. While we waited, the cashier ran around and gave a magnet to each waiting customer and apologize for the wait. That lighten up the room and no one complained about having to wait 10 mins. I came here for lunch. The staff were nice. I was asked to do a review on the spot to receive free french fries, so I did. I reviewed them on Google Eats before even trying anything. Here are my real thoughts: The bibimbap was okay but didn't taste like a real bibimbap. The donuts I ordered were too oily, and the free fries I got were cold. The food here is very inconsistent. I have been to all the bon chon locations in the city and New Jersey and this has to be the worst. One, the place is not kept up and cleaned well in the seating areas/bathrooms. The customer service is fine, but the food is not consistent. Some times it tastes great, and crispy, other times it doesn't seem like they even double fried it correctly and it's soggy. Sometimes certain dishes are too salty, other times not. I've tried it multiple times in hope that they'd eventually get it right, but unfortunately they're lacking. read more

Service was really slow. I waited at the cashier for a good 10 minutes before someone took my order and waited an additional 20 minutes for my order (6 boneless, white rice, and coleslaw). The chicken was really good, definitely recommend the soy garlic flavor. Rice was also cooked nicely, wasn't too wet or dry. The coleslaw on the other-hand smelled like it went bad, gave it a try anyways and it indeed was spoiled. Besides that, the workers were very nice and the food was pretty good. I suggest maybe ditching the coleslaw/pickled radish or trying it when it's colder (currently summer) lol. read more

Tried Bonchon last night first time, huge disappointment!! They did not have any Korean wings, only soy garlic or plain and a side of coleslaw. Not only with the wings COLD, but the wings were under seasoned and the plain wings had no taste at all. I was able to buy two very small dipping sauces for the plain wings at $.99 per tiny cup. We ordered the Korean doughnut. I will say the Korean donut was absolutely delicious! Not sure I would give them a second try as it was pricey for mediocre food. read more

A week ago I was brought two chicken legs by a friend who ordered too much food...and although they were the spicy variety (not my taste)...I could tell that the crunch and the freshness of the chicken underneath was perfect for my palate. So,I went to BonChon on Hylan Blvd. Saturday night...the place was empty. I did not pre-order as I wasn't sure what time I'd get there. A pleasant young man took my order which was extremely simple...8 wings,4 legs...$21. Expensive I thought but then I added two Korean crullers...and after tax came to $30. Ok, I'll be happy I spent that when I taste the crunch! But then, as I was inserting my credit card,the young man reached his hand over the counter,pointed to the card reader and said,"That's where you leave the tip!" It read 15%,20%,25% and MORE. You had to hit MORE to find a box that read NO TIP. I won't rant here about how I feel about senseless tipping...but needless to,say,I hit NO TIP...and I think that may have affected my wait time...which was 35 minutes in an empty restaurant. I rationalized it by thinking,"Well at least they will be hot and fresh! Finally I got the call that my order was ready...it smelled delicious and was still hot enough to enjoy after my 15 minute ride home. Well, I was half right...the wings were delicious....but the legs were rubbery and tasted like they were made last Tuesday and just reheated...terrible! I just want to add that the decor,if you wanted to eat there made White Castle, just across the way,look like the Ritz-Carlton...and the floor was filthy! So I have a mixed review. It wasn't a pleasant ordeal to GET the food...but OH,those wings...they're unlike any wing I've ever tasted...absolutely unique! I recommend the Soy-Garlic! Very disappointing. This new store does not make the flat boneless version. What you get is overfried chicken nuggets. In terms of chicken, this place is nothing more than a wing/nugget shop. I will NEVER eat there again. So much over frying it tastes unhealthy. I must say that all of the employees were very nice which made it easier for me not to lose my temper after they got my order wrong twice. And then when I got home, they forgot all sauces and coleslaw. I paid a little over $70.00 for 40 chicken nuggets. It's too bad this place isn't like the Bon Chon in Jersey City, which we loved!
