There was a literal 10 year old at the cash register handling transactions. I'm telling everyone I know(which is a lot of people) to never come here.

It is part of a small Mexican supermarket which had a different name before so not sure how long this new ownership has been here. They cook and have the set up in the front of store under a tent but they do have a kitchen inside the market. You go inside the market by side door and order inside then you take your ticket to the outside tent where they have the menudo pot and condiments and they get you served up. They have a couple of fold up tables under tents for you to eat there but most of the people were taking it to go and so did I. They also have carnitas by the pound, tamales, and a variety of tacos of lengua, cabeza, carnitas and birria. We got two menudos to go and it was perfectly cooked, meat was clean tasting and tender and broth was excellent. This menudo does not have grano or homily but we added some at home and my menudo I ordered with Pata which is the foot part or hoof of cow a glutenous mix of tendon and meat which is traditional in menudo. if you don't know the meat in menudo is tripe. They had the three types of tripe in this menudo honeycomb, book and blanket. The menudo tastes very similar too my menudo so they definitely use Epazote herb. There were 10 to 12 people there and more coming so they serve until the pot runs out. Tacos looked very good so next time will get some while I wait. Service and food a definitely 4.5. The market was small but well stocked and the meat at the carnicería looked fresh and it was very clean so next time I will buy some meat for bbq while I wait for my menudo to go. You can get sodas which they sell inside the store and the tortillas are hand made but I think you have to ask for them as I did not get any with the order. I had some freshly hand made tortillas waiting at home which we paired with refried beans with cheese which you roll up and eat along with the menudo. Great find and can't wait to come back and try the other food. Not sure if this stand is only in the weekends or if it is open all the time. Usually menudo is only sold on weekends so I would assume that but not sure.

Amazing food. Everything was piping hot and fresh. What impressed me was the nacho and salsa bar. Casual sitdown restaurant with colorful and festive decor. Highly recommend.

The front and middle of the store boasts all of the grocery items, including piñatas hanging from the ceiling for purchase. The rear of the store is their fresh meat market and behind the register are hot plate items you can order and take to go. The staff are always very nice and helpful. My experience here is specific to ordering hot food items. I highly recommend their chicken, which has to be some of the best tasting I have had from a business. The business is reasonably priced. I can order 32 ounces of chicken, 16 ounces of rice and beans for about $38. All of that is plenty to feed four people. If you are craving good Mexican food that is reasonably priced, you can't go wrong visiting La Mexicana dr Ripon.

Sure enough, dude was slinging a variety of tamales, after coming in from the Modesto area. I just grabbed a couple to try later, which ended up being around dinner for me. The tamales which I ordered were both wrapped in banana leaves. The Pork tamal ($4.00) is a pretty straightforward pork in red sauce, and it did get a bit spicy for me. The receipt describes it as a mole, and I'd label it as a medium. The Chile Relleno tamal ($7.00) is a massive beast with seeded pepper, a firm cheese filling, and something that resembled egg/omelet to me for some reason. It was not spicy, owing to the lack of salsa, yet it was still satisfying overall. Oaxacan Tamales is a nice, affordable spot for tamales which you should consider trying if you happen to run into them at a farmers' market. I'll be sure to try their other menu items if I can.

Burritos were $9 each. When I picked up burritos I noticed how small they were . Very small so I went up and ordered 2 more tacos 1 chorizo and 1 pastor . I asked if the burritos were super and the guy in the truck, I'm assuming the owner assured me they were. I asked what was in the super and he said protein , rice, beans , & sour cream. That's it . No cheese , no guacamole. So basically you're paying $.50 more to have a sour cream in your burrito. I just added cheese at home. The burritos were great flavor especially the pastor. But the value was not there. I could go somewhere else and pay the same price and get a much bigger burrito that has cheese & guacamole or avocado in it. Next time I will stick with the Tacos .
