He discovered a hidden leak in our three-story house, which had been racking up a substantial amount of water loss over the last few months. The leak was traced to an outside remotely controlled irrigation valve, which, when isolated, stopped the leak. The leak was below the soil surface and was easy to miss. A previous check by our irrigation guy missed this problem, too. Eddie mentioned that he was a Navy vet. and stated that "he was the one they called" when there was a leak. I'm assuming he served on a Navy ship during his tours. Sailors and folks familiar with Navy vessels know that all steam or diesel-powered ships are riven with pipes, valves, and joints, which are just looking for an excuse to leak or burst. read more

We're new homeowners and the plumbing world is completely uncharted territory for us. My husband and I are incredibly grateful that our neighbor connected us to Ed from Bonafide Plumbing. When our water wouldn't get warm on the week of Thanksgiving, we got in contact with Ed from Bonafide plumbing. He came the very next day and explained how he intentionally kept his schedule cleared in case people had emergencies. I was having siding on my house repaired and the work caused my earthquake emergency shutoff to turn off my gas. I call a popular plumbing company in Alameda, and they sent a plumber who said the work would cost a minimum of $1,200.00 and they might have to replace the water heater. Something didn't add up and I called my friend who is a contractor. He recommended Ed, the owner of Bonafide plumbing. Ed immediately asked about the make and model of my water heater and ordered the part. When he arrived he learned that a new part wasn't needed, and that after the earthquake shutoff had been reset, that my pilot light needed to be turned on. He charged only for his time and promised to come back out again if the work on the house caused this to happen again. The work again shutoff the gas and another plumber, contacted through my contractor, came out and said the same thing about the replacement of the water heater and a part. Again, another plumbing company was trying to take advantage of me. I called Ed and he came out again the next day, as promised, and turned my pilot light on again. Two different plumbing companies tried to charge me thousands for work that did not need to be done. Ed is honest, reliable, and has integrity.
