    R. P. McLaughlin Company - 2023 Water Heater @ 69 Essex St Unit# 1, Salem

He installed an incredibly great system, which replaced not only our old furnace, but our hot water heater as well. The system is the Triangle Tube Prestige system (likely updated since then). Not only is it was of the best and most efficient heating and hot water systems, but his price and service were equally great. Once installed, our gas bill dropped by 50%, and we NEVER run out of hot water. The system can handle the shower, washing machine, and at least one sink all at the same time. Great recommendaton Bob! His crew was very meticulous in their work, and Bob (the owner) is honest, trustworthy and gives fair assessments of whatever work you need. Quality work is their marquee! He was so good we had him back a couple years later when we needed some other work done. One of the supports for the pipe that feeds our two bedrooms came loose, where it runs through the lower level through the under house garage. We also needed a water outlet in our kitchen sink to run our water filter. They were prompt in returning our call and setting up the appointment, showed up on time, and did great work. I've had to call him with some questions, and once a minor issue, which he told me how to fix over the phone. His service after the fact is outstanding and he's always get back to you if you call with a question. I recommend this company for it integrity, quality work, and outstanding ethics. The price is comparable with most plumbers, and better than a lot of others we checked out.

Once the guy came with an apprentice from the local vocational high school and I really really liked that. Prices are higher than the local guy, but they will always answer the phone and always be able to fit me in, and worth it. Good value and service for the cost.

My husband tried snaking it and thought he had broken up the clog. Alas, when I turned the washer back on, Mount Vesuvius again erupted. I knew I needed a professional. At 8:10am Monday, my husband phoned Dash Drains and told them we needed the main line unclogged. We were told someone would be there between 10 and 12. At 10:10, Sam arrived. Within the hour, he had disposed of the tree roots that were blocking the drain, cleaned up the basement, and was ready to roll. The cost for the service call was more than reasonable. Not only am I back to doing laundry, we can shower without fear of the toilet bubbling over, run the dishwasher and not worry about flooding the kitchen. Thank you, Sam and Dash Drains. You did a spectacular job.

He suggested I call a plumber He was onsite a fairly short time and charged $125 instead of the usual $350. It was a Saturday evening, about 4:00 PM and we were about to leave for 2 week vacation overseas,…read morewhen we went into our storage room to grab something and found a puddle of water from our hot water heater. I immediately googled who could replace this in a short turnaround and called one of the "big companies" that does this kind of work. I was told they could come on Monday to evaluate and then depending on the evaluation, they would then schedule what would need to be done, which was a couple days after that. Each step with them cost money too. I couldnt wait that long and looked up more options when I came across Daniel Wright Plumbing & Heating. There were other reviews that were reminiscent of what I was going through. I called and left a message. I received a call back in less than an hour. He asked a few questions about the unit I had, I texted a few pictures and he was at our house the next morning to look at the situation. He gave me a quote when he left and he was at our house the next morning (Monday) when he said he would be, installed the new hot water heater and cleaned up after himself. He did quality work, was reliable, communicated transparently, was polite and professional. He followed-up after to ensure all was working properly. Highly recommend and he will definitely be our first call when in a situation like this again.

All previous owners went down to the basement to do laundry. I tried 5 different plumbers and Daniel Wright was the only one who agreed to plumb in a ventless dual unit for a reasonable price. He did an outstanding job very efficiently. I have used him for so many other things, including installing a new water heater, and a range of other major and minor fixes. He is always responsive, prompt, cheerful, extremely knowledgable and his prices are very fair. I've owned many homes in my life, in many places, and have worked with other plumbers in this area. I know I found my North Shore plumber and am very happy to recommend Danny unreservedly.

I must have called eight different plumbers or companies. Three would not provide free quotes or estimates, and they would have charged outrageous service call fees that one has to pay regardless of whether one accepts their quotes. Three companies offered free estimates and quotes. One quote was so ridiculously high, and when I questioned the price they described that the price included "Isolating water supply to unit by means of water main; relieving the pressure...." and the list went on and on, including a ridiculous list of normal steps for any plumbing job, including checking for proper functioning and leaks, as if these were the reason for the high costs listed on their estimates. It was a bit insulting. Petros was the last person I called, and he was refreshing. He asked for pictures of the valves in question, and before he gave me any quotes over the phone, he explained the options for repair and recommendations. He described the cost of the different types of valves (spoiler alert---they are not that expensive)--and explained his fee. No, he was not cheap, but I so appreciated the no-nonsense explanations and upfront pricing. I knew what the job was going to cost me, and exactly how much of the cost was going to materials vs. labor. Old fashion-business model and transparency that I appreciate. When he came to the house, he was friendly, efficient and professional; he explained and showed me what he did and what was wrong with the valves that were broken; and left the premises clean when he was done. He is a two-man company/team, so I cannot attest to how it would work calling him for larger jobs or emergency jobs, but I will definitely use his services again in the future.

Communication was clear, scheduling was straightforward, and the team arrived on time. It is most helpful that Mr. Floros uses text messaging to communicate. It makes the process so much easier. He explained the work in detail, including the equipment being installed and what to expect during and after the process. The installation itself was efficient and clean. They took care to protect the surrounding area, removed the old unit without issue, and ensured everything was properly connected and functioning before leaving. It was evident that they were experienced and followed proper installation practices. Overall, this was a well-managed, professional job. I would use them again and would recommend them to others looking for reliable plumbing work.

Please keep this in mind and consider a second opinion if they give you a large quote. This is my story: My elderly mother contacted me in a panic after she had a technician named Ryder come to her house to check/clean her heating system. Somewhere in the process, he told her that her entire heating system needed to be replaced and would roughly cost her $15,000...AND he gave her a DEADLINE of 3pm that day to get back to him or that price would change. Please note that her heating system works and is not broken. I decided to contact Cranney's on my own and ask one simple question: "Do your technicians get a commission on their sales?" I was placed on hold so the operator could consult the manager. When she returned, I was told the manager was at lunch and would call me back. I then asked for an assistant manager or someone else that might have the answer. She then asked "What is this in regards to?" (I am not sure why she asked that again, as I only asked that one question). Sensing the defensiveness in her voice, I decided to tell her that I wanted my technician to receive a commission because "he did a wonderful job". She sounded relieved and more willing to seek out an answer. She put me on hold again. When she returned she told me that she could "not disclose that information"...this was enough for me. If a technician charges 15K for a job and gets 5% commission, that's a $750 addition to his paycheck. Please keep in mind I never got an official answer, however if the answer was "no" then it would've been simple. Offering commission on services like this without guardrails, is a corrupt incentive for technicians with no integrity and an easy way to con old women into spending money they don't have on something they don't need. Not to mention the coercion technique used causing unnecessary panic by telling her that a decision needs to be made TODAY...or else. Also, you should know that the manager never called me back. I have no interest in telling them how to operate, I can only offer my experience with the hope that the consumer is better informed. Please consider a second opinion when using their services.
