Before i continue, I'd like to stress the word AFFORDABLE bc it's really a word that stood out when planning this outing with my family. Unfortunately affordable in this case meant the very bottom of the barrel. The boat itself is very outdated and is in serious need of some TLC. The food was awful. I had a little hope seeing Hispanics on the staff but i guess they have zero input on the food bc the food had no flavor at all and even my kids who will basically eat anything wouldn't eat it. The safest thing there was the fresh fruit and the bread rolls. The rum punch included with the package was pre made and not good at all. We settled for warm wine and the Pepsi was nice and crispy so at least there's that. Of course we get what we pay for but dang this was bad. I thought with fancy pants Starlite being in the family this would be a slightly better experience but lesson learned. From the inviting atmosphere to the delectable food and the impeccable service provided by Simone, every aspect of the evening was truly outstanding. The moment I stepped into Bon Appetit, I was greeted by an ambiance that exuded elegance and warmth. The restaurant's attention to detail in creating a pleasant dining atmosphere was evident, making it the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The culinary delights offered at Bon Appetit were simply exceptional. Each dish was a work of art, from the appetizers to the main course and desserts, every bite was a culinary delight. The menu featured a diverse range of options, catering to different palates and dietary preferences, and the quality of the ingredients used was evident in each dish. However, what truly made the dining experience extraordinary was the impeccable service provided by Simone. From the moment he greeted our table with a warm smile, his professionalism and passion for his work shone through. Simone's extensive knowledge of the menu allowed him to guide us through the options, providing insightful recommendations and answering our questions with confidence. Simone's attention to detail and his ability to anticipate our needs were remarkable. He ensured that our dining experience was seamless, attending to our requests promptly and ensuring that our glasses were always filled. His genuine warmth and engaging demeanor created a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere throughout the evening. Furthermore, Simone's efficiency and grace in managing his tables were exemplary. Despite a busy restaurant, he never missed a beat, effortlessly juggling multiple tasks while still providing personalized attention to each guest. In conclusion, Bon Appetit offers not only a delightful dining environment but also a culinary journey that will leave you craving for more. I visited Bon Appétit on a Wednesday evening with two of my girlfriends. The ambiance was lovely--we couldn't sit outside, but we were lucky to get a window seat with a beautiful view of the sunset. The hostess was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, which set a nice tone for the evening. However, one issue we ran into was the sunset photo frenzy. As the sun began to set, several guests came over to our table--uninvited--to snap pictures through the window. It really disrupted the flow of our dinner and felt a bit intrusive. I would love to see the restaurant put some boundaries in place to prevent this, especially since it's a more upscale setting. As for the drinks, they were hit or miss. I had the mango margarita, which tasted quite artificial, and the Ocean Breeze, which was underwhelming and lacked flavor. On the other hand, my friends enjoyed their drinks--the lavender lemonade mocktail and white sangria both got good reviews. The biggest disappointment of the night was how the food was timed. We ordered three sides--the Brussels sprouts, gnocchi, and mushroom risotto--to accompany our entrées, but they were brought to our table a full 20 minutes before the main dishes. Even more concerning, the plates were sitting behind us for about 15 minutes before our server finally acknowledged and brought them to the table. They may have been intended as appetizers, but that wasn't communicated, and by the time our meals arrived, the sides were cold. The risotto was not true risotto--it had the consistency of plain rice and lacked the creaminess you'd expect. The Brussels sprouts could have been crispier, and the gnocchi was just okay. Thankfully, the entrées themselves were the highlight. I had the grouper, which was fresh and flavorful. My friends had the chicken and filet mignon and were both happy with their meals. All in all, Bon Appétit has potential--it's a beautiful setting with great entrée options--but I think there's some room for improvement in execution and service. For the price point, I expected a more cohesive dining experience. Not sure I'd return, but I hope they take feedback like this to continue improving. read more

I had the pleasure of dining at Bon Appétit in Dunedin today on a double date, and it was a delightful experience. From the moment we arrived, the ambience was lovely, with a beautiful ocean view even from our table indoors (the patio was full, but we were graciously seated at the best table inside). The staff were impeccably dressed, professional, and welcoming, and the bathrooms were spotless--a small detail that says a lot about the establishment. Our server, Ryan, was truly exceptional. Friendly, helpful, and accommodating, he made our dining experience seamless and enjoyable. We started with drinks: I ordered the Ocean Breeze cocktail, which was perfectly balanced. My husband enjoyed a Negroni, our friend had a Chardonnay, and her husband had an Old Fashioned. A small critique for the Old Fashioned--it came with multiple ice cubes instead of the traditional single cube, which wasn't to his preference, but the drink itself was fine. For food, we shared the house salad, the octopus appetizer, and the bouillabaisse as my main dish. Our friends opted for the avocado and lobster stack and the grouper sandwich. My girlfriend has dairy and gluten intolerances, and Ryan went above and beyond to ensure her dietary needs were met. Overall, the food was very good, with just a couple of notes: the octopus dish, while flavorful, has changed over the years. It arrived with a buttery sauce and lots of vegetables but not much octopus. When I requested a simplified version without the buttery sauce, Ryan quickly replaced it--still tasty, but again, light on the octopus. On the other hand, the bouillabaisse was phenomenal, and my friends had no complaints about their dishes--they thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Bon Appétit impressed me with its beautiful atmosphere, attentive service, and delicious food. While there were minor tweaks to preferences, the overall experience was excellent. I would absolutely return! read more

My mom and I took a quick trip to Dunedin, FL and stumbled upon Bon Appétit, and what an incredible find it was. From the moment we arrived, everything about the experience stood out: the ambiance, the beautiful waterfront view, the service, and of course, the unforgettable food. The soft piano music filling the room added such a warm, uplifting energy that made the atmosphere even more special. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, pear pasta (absolutely to die for), white wine mussels, and the mushroom risotto. Every dish was perfectly prepared and truly melt-in-your-mouth delicious. My mom loved her meal so much she wouldn't even share a bite with me! The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and everything felt just right. The drinks were also spot on and complemented the meal perfectly. What really made the experience special, though, was the staff. Our server was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Lina, the manager, even came by our table to check in on us. She greeted us with such warmth and made us feel like part of the Bon Appétit family. She was an absolute treasure. This was more than just a meal. It was a memory we'll truly cherish. I worked in the Kitchen of this restaurant and learned a wealth of good on how to utilize, perform and accommodate appropriately foods that once before hadn't known about or heard of.Chef Stephen Farquhar was the Executive Chef at the time I was employed and is now retired.Chef Karl Riedl co-owner was also very affluent and endowed with fine dining wisdom.I am certain that the food is served with the up-most quality and speed as a human is able.I learned so much from the two of them that I am currently a Sous Chef as a direct result and am not pleased with the many restaurants I have worked for as they are not as good nor knowledgeable of food and the many things about food that many do not know.I miss this place and the things I learned in the 8 years I was employed there.Chef Karl should be recognized on television as he is as good as Chef Gordon Ramsey. Please recognize that owning a business of this kind is a "win big or lose big" operation and that respect for Mr.K should be provided by all who dine there as well as work there. In short, Bon Appetit is the greatest and best restaurant and job I have ever had in the 44 years of life that I have been given, Thank you Chef Steve and Chef Karl.Michael Devine.....:) read more

Unfortunately, this place didn't live up to my expectations. From the moment we walked in, there was an odd smell in the restaurant that was hard to describe but definitely unpleasant. The space itself felt dated compared to other spots in the Dunedin area. I ordered a cucumber cocktail, but what I received seemed more like a mocktail. The cucumber was cut into large, unappealing chunks and thrown in, which took away from the drink's potential. The Caesar salad was overly creamy, and while I know anchovies are part of the dressing, the flavor was overpowering. The lettuce also tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for too long, making it less than fresh. The shrimp cocktail was decent--the shrimp were large, but they lacked any real flavor. On the positive side, the service was quick, even on a busy Friday evening. Our server was kind and accommodating, even providing us with a voucher for a free bottle of champagne after we couldn't use a gift card we had. That gesture was much appreciated. Overall, I'm not sure I'd return, though I've heard good things about their brunch. Maybe it's worth a try, but my experience here didn't leave me impressed. read more

I will first say that we came for my sons birthday. The food was amazing so i would give the chef 5 stars The hostess shes also wonderful. We thought we might get dessert, but we had no room. We were full! This was a comfortable place to eat and catch up. My friend & I had not seen each other in ten years. We stayed a little longer than it took to eat our meal, but we did not feel rushed. We're looking forward to meeting here for lunch again - soon!

It was absolutely amazing. But what really got me was everything they did from beginning to end. We arrived to flowers on our table and a card signed by the entire staff wishing us a happy anniversary. The service was incredible, but even more than that, everyone was just so genuinely friendly, kind, and welcoming. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has such a special atmosphere. I'm sure my husband had a lot to do with planning the surprises , but the staff completely entertained his mission to make me feel special and they absolutely succeeded. After 26 years of marriage, having a place go out of their way to make our anniversary feel this special meant so much to me. The food, the staff, the little touches...everything was wonderful. Thank you, Parlor House Bistro, for helping make 26 years worth celebrating even more memorable.
