Bombshells was a great place to watch the Spurs playoff game. The limited menu was a little disappointing, but it made sense given the circumstances. The restaurant is under new ownership, and while there seem to be a few growing pains, it looks like they're working through them. Considering nearby sports bars like Hooters and Twin Peaks were packed for the playoffs, we were pleasantly surprised to find seating available. I ordered the chicken wings, which were excellent, while a friend tried the nachos and thought they were just okay. The drinks were on the pricey side, but they were well-made and tasted great. Mid meal I saw some friends and went to go talk to them, I told the waitress not to throw my food away. But apparently the buster wasn't told. He was throwing my food away while I told him to stop. He literally looked in my eyes while throwing a full drink. The manager came rectified it. Then some more friends joined the table and ordered beers. We waited for 10 minutes and when nothing happened I had to get the bartender to fulfill the order. Only to walk past the waitress sitting down. My waitress then gave me the check and when I tried to explain to her that I was being charged for beers that others at the table had. Instead of offering to split the check correctly, she had an attitude and rips the receipt out of my hand and went to get the manager like I'm supposed pay for other people's stuff. A+ for the poor manager fixing everything. This place is a biggest waste of potential! read more

Loved the decor very military. Did have issues with the music being so loud that our group of 8 couldn't hear each other talking unless you yelled in their ear. My husband said the porkchops were good but very dry. Grandson ordered wings and onion rings, which were tasty. The blackened chicken was dry but had good flavor. My daughter ordered the chicken fried steak, it was tough and flavorless so was the pasta Alfredo. The salmon was really tasty and cooked perfectly. I have to say that the coleslaw was the best I've had since moving to San Antonio. We plan on trying a week day in hopes that music is quieter and gonna get the wings. read more

I attended the Old School event last Sunday and wanted to share some constructive feedback. First, I want to say that I always support Black-owned businesses and genuinely want to see this establishment succeed. Unfortunately, the experience started off on a disappointing note. When we arrived, the hostess did not greet guests or explain that there was a waiting list. Many people were standing around confused, unsure of what to do. My group waited at the hostess stand for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged by any staff member. We eventually found seating on the patio, but only because someone I knew informed us that space was available, not because a staff member assisted us. Once seated, I went to the outdoor bar, which appeared to be understocked. When I asked whether the limited drink selection was intentional, I did not receive a response. Another guest suggested that service might be faster if I sat at a table and ordered through a server. Unfortunately, that was not the case. It took approximately 45 minutes to receive an Old Fashioned, and the drink itself was not very good. There were also operational challenges throughout the event. Tables were not being cleared regularly, and I never saw any bussing staff. Several guests around us commented that the situation felt disorganized and overwhelming. On a positive note, the DJs were excellent and did a great job creating an enjoyable atmosphere. My recommendation to the new owners is to focus on building a strong foundation with friendly, professional staff and adequate staffing levels, especially bartenders and front-of-house personnel. A welcoming hostess and efficient service can make a tremendous difference in the overall customer experience. Organization and clear communication are essential to running a successful business. Many of us want to support your establishment and see it thrive. My suggestion would be to keep things simple and perfect the sports bar and grill experience before expanding into additional concepts or offerings. This visit was my first time going to any Bombshells Restaurant, and I will say that I was pleasantly surprised. I went with a couple of work friends early sunday morning around 11 am. To my surprise, the restaurant already had groups of people watching a football game or waiting for a game to start. So the ambience was already lively pretty early in the day. I read a comment here that Bombshells can get loud, and I can attest that once the game started, the volume of all the TVs increased significantly. We started with a sampler and decided on wings for our entrées. The chicken cutlet (or tender) included in the sampler was absolutely delicious, especially when paired with the plain buffalo sauce. It was so good that it made me change my mind about ordering a burger--I opted for wings instead. I went with the boneless wings and decided to try something spicier since I had already sampled the regular buffalo sauce. I can't recall if I chose the Nuclear or Atomic flavor, but unfortunately, they were just okay. While they were definitely spicy, they lacked the flavor I was hoping for -- a bit disappointing compared to how great the regular buffalo sauce tender was. As far as our service went, our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was ok throughout our visit. She checked to make sure the food was ok and periodically checked to see if we needed any refills on our drinks. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, with one of the only downsides being the wings - which could use a little more flavor to match the spice. read more

Always looking for somewhere that's open after midnight for my work friends and me. Bombshells is only open late the last couple of days of the week, so I went with a friend. The food we agreed was okay. Not as good as (fill in the blank), but not bad. But everything seems so expensive! We like the interior of the place. We're not into loud restaurants, and this one is loud, but behind the bar area, there's a nice area that's a little less loud and there's a nice outdoor dining area. While traveling for work, I stopped at Bombshells Restaurant & Bar for lunch on a Saturday around 1:00 PM. The place wasn't too busy when I arrived. The vibe is very similar to places like Hooters or Twin Peaks, with waitresses in short skirts and tight tops. That type of atmosphere isn't my personal preference, but it was close to my hotel, and I hadn't read any reviews beforehand. The menu is extensive, with lots of options. I went with something simple and ordered the Recruit Burger--just lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mayo, and a pickle spear on the side, served with French fries. Unfortunately, the burger was a letdown: the patty was very thin and lacked any real flavor. I was hungry, so I finished it, but it was definitely disappointing. The fries were greasy and came in a smaller portion than I would expect from a place like this. The unsweetened iced tea was the highlight of the meal--cold and refreshing, thanks to Lipton. The service, at least, was solid. My waitress was attentive and didn't push me to order quickly, giving me plenty of time to review the menu. The atmosphere is military-themed with lots of TVs for watching games, but the music choice was more suited to a dance club than a restaurant and bar. The loud music added to the overall noise, as groups had to raise their voices to talk over it. One positive is that they do offer a military discount for our brave men and women who serve or have served, which is a nice touch. Overall, the meal didn't meet my expectations, and I can't recommend Bombshells. It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review, but this one was disappointing from start to finish. read more

We didn't know about this chain when we tried it, so we didn't know it would be similar to a Hooters when we took my 87 yr old mother in there. But, we are fun loving people willing to try places out. We arrived at about 6:45...the only people there were at the bar, should have just turned around right then....but, we didn't. Instead, we sat and ordered. Shouldn't have. Looking past all the butt cheeks hanging out, we ordered a top shelf margarita, a signature drink, a club sandwich w fries, salad, and a burger w fries. Initially our drinks showed up quickly...but the margarita had no salt on the glass (waitress didn't even ask if it was wanted or not, so it seems the bartender just didn't do it), it tasted ok. The signature drink was watery. Then the salad came out about 7 minutes later....a few minutes later, the club sandwich is brought out, the kitchen didn't even cut it. When we had been sitting there for 30 minutes the burger and fries STILL hadn't arrived. I finally got our servers attention (who truly was completely emotionless and looked like she could care less about us) to complain. I got excuses. What excuse is suitable for a dead restaurant that can't get three simple items out at the same time? She went and spoke to the Manager, who came over and proceeded to say "she's supposed to have previous experience" and "I don't know what's up with the kitchen" (Isn't that your job to know?) While she was standing there the server brought the burger out....just the burger, no fries. And said they had lost that order. Ummm, the kitchen lost just the burger off of the ticket that had the other two items?? Really?? We ended up having our food comped but wow...how is this place in business? Nice little pit stop on our way to a missions game. The beer is always nice and cold. It was also a nice day to sit on the patio. We tried this awesome combo appetizer. Chicken, hot Cheeto crusted cheese sticks and sweet egg rolls. The eggrolls were ok. Could have been more crunchy. The chicken was really good. Juicy, lightly fried. I loved it. Really disappointed here. Food overall was decent but took forever, service was absolutely trash! Took 22 minutes to get someone to the table, after we asked them to serve us. Had to get our own alcoholic drinks from the bar also a bad server, had the RBF hard and the accompanying personality. Wait times were actually crazy, they kept saying they were super busy but there was 12 tables, 6 waitresses, and 3 hosts. The bus boy had to clean off all 20 tables that left in the 2 hours I was there without help. The manager was running around like a chicken with his head cut off, as the hosts were snap chatting tick ticking and riding a scooter thru the halls?! Overall ambiance was $hit! Felt like a poor man's version of hooters without the hooters. If I didn't work the industry myself she wouldn't have even gotten a tip but I can not bring myself to that level. read more

Recommend if you like to drink beer and enjoy their nice big patio for sports games. Girls are definitely wearing skimpy, tight outfits. Definitely cater to the male crowd though. Wings were decent, got Cajun rub but blue cheese was meh. Ranch tasted like out of a bottle and wings just need blue cheese in my opinion. Celery was limp and lifeless even after being carried out by the scantily clad waitress. Fried Okra was tasty though. They don't have a great beer selection and it's not icy cold like the competitor across the highway. No ginger beer either, waitress wasn't even familiar with what that is. Just an update to my previous review. The owners stated that the "mixed drink tax" is a state regulation. However, I've been in Texas for 6 years, and I've never seen a "mixed drink tax" or any additional fees or increased taxes added to my bill. So either I've been lucky or none of the other establishments that I've frequented in Texas are following said "regulation"....as I previous stated, it's still an ok place to watch games and other things. read more

So to be honest, I want to give a 2 star but the food made up the gap. Ill start there... The food was very good.. The WMD appetizer was different and very tasty, the wings were seasoned evenly and cooked very good, no rubber skin which was nice and the burger I had (Cant recall the name) was cooked pretty amazing and had a great flavor profile. Now where things went downhill. The service, Our server was very nice, and friendly but not very attentive and really disappointing. Got to us quick, got our beer orders in and delivered quick, so that was good, but had a little attitude when coming back to our table and sort of demanding when asking what we wanted but that's not a big deal, they were kinda busy and maybe another table was being rude so ill give her a pass. We ordered our food, a burger for my buddy, myself a burger and a side of wings as another appetizer. Those wings eventually came out with my burger not on the side, which was a bummer, but the real issue was the wait time and the amount she checked on us. 55 full minutes went by before our food came out, wings take maybe 12 mins and burgers both medium rare don't take long. It was roughly 30 mins between seeing our server. Now I get people have to go on breaks, or use the restroom etc, but if she DID go on break, letting us know and checking on us would have been nice. it wasn't until another girl, who was in training, came by to see if we needed anything and we told her we were at almost an hour, she walked away and MAGICALLY here comes our food, like someone, IDK FORGOT about us... So we eat, things are good and the manager comes by, super friendly, very nice lady and I explain to her what went down, and she let us know that they bring food out as it comes, its a system, in place to make sure waits are cut down, which is fine, IF it worked, but no apology for the delay, no "ill let her know, your concerns so she can do better" etc etc. Just a well.. Have a good night and nothing more. So Yea, the food was good, the theme and environment is pretty awesome, but I dont know that Ill be back based on service alone. read more

Bartender didn't ask my name for tab or say her name, neither bartender introduced by name, did my tab by asking for credit card and never said or verified my name 2. Drink served without coaster or napkin under drinks so puddles of moisture ..... bartenders are poorly trained and understaffed....need at least three to keep up with bar and waitress orders 3. Food was pricey but nice side portions and was good 4. Poor employee moral.....bartenders and waitresses openly talked about quitting soon and how many times they no called, no showed in previous week 5. Apparently management issues, waitress And bartender talked about not being paid timely and not getting their tip outs from restaurant 6. A recent barback that quit previous week talked about not being paid for over 5 weeks and wasnt getting his weekly tip out 7. Obvious poorly trained staff and weak management based on issues I observed which affects customer experience....another example stalls in mens room out of toilet paper 8. Barback and bartender talked about how they run out of ice every day....another manager shortfall 9. I liked the food, I liked the layout, but not the service I don't normally write such detailed reviews but I have high hopes for this place. Nothing special about this place. For the most part it is a well ran establishment. You have your typical bar foods and staff uniforms like cheerleaders. Looked clean and some friendly smiles. The reason fir the 2 stars was the lack of customer service at the bar. They had 4 girls working but one stood talking to two guys the entire time I was there. One was making all the other service drinks. So that left 2 to tend to the rest of the bar. Now I you think ok they were busy. Yes but busy enough to ask the person beside you if everything was ok and then ignore you. I would just button down the CS and you should be get more stars.. just not from me. I came here the first week they opened and expected to wait. (was a 30 min wait that ended up being about an hour) New spot, cool environment, maybe the food is worth the wait? Unfortunately, I do not intend on returning. They had sticky floors and the multiple hostesses/waitresses seemed off their game. It wasn't until a hostess approached us and when I said that we were taken care of, she told me to move out her way (I was not in anyones way nor was I blocking the front desk) I was shocked with her rude tone but didn't not want to ruin my family's moment. Turns out that I didn't need to say or do anything. Wings were good but fries didn't have seasoning. BettyBoop wrap was not to my liking and the sweet potato fries were bland. What got me, was the queso... the menu said "QUESO CHEESE BLENDED WITH TOMATOES, ONION, PEPPERS, AND CILANTRO. SERVED WITH TORTILLA CHIPS" if you look in my photos, you will see garlic chunks all in there (chopped up garlic). Not sure if this was on accident as the server wasn't familiar why there was garlic, but nothing was compensated or addressed with upper management. Our server was friendly, and because the environment, she was more focused on a table full of men and did the bare minimum with us.
