Every employee I spoke to was kind (Paul, Kellie, Kam, Jon), the actual technician (Kam) was friendly. However, they failed the initial inspection and had to redo weather proofing. I've since had to hire another electrician to finish labeling the panel after GLIC did a service upgrade. The panel doesn't actually fit all of the breakers and covers them slightly. New electrician said without a new box there is no way to make them fit, so it will always look odd. We found out more that indicated poor work, but this review is long enough without getting into those details. To put it short and sweet: the communication between employees at GLIC is extremely poor and caused a variety of issues with scheduling, parts, etc. I started this process working with Jon on scheduling and Paul on the estimate. I sent a list of the work requested by email, explained it over the phone, and went over it in person with Paul. We ended up condensing it down and ultimately approved: 1. $675 Dual sensor, photo-ion smoke detectors for each level of the home 2. $3,150 200-amp service upgrade 3. $462.50 220 volt stove plug installation In total from 11/15 to 1/24 we communicated through 22 phone calls, 44 text messages, and 9 emails for this single job. Here are some examples of why we had to communicate so frequently: - We wanted to confirm that they were going to pull permits and send electricians who are licensed in the State of Michigan. - We needed a new invoice sent over and waited 2 weeks but it hadn't been sent. - On what would have been day 1 of work, GLIC cancelled on us 2 minutes before scheduled start time. - Actual day 1 of work ended because of an emergency call. We were told they'd possibly come back the next day, or Monday of the next week. I called and texted without any response until Monday morning when they scheduled us for later that week. - They brought the wrong smoke detectors to the house on day 2 of work. I can assure you that this review can't fully encapsulate the fuming frustration that experiencing all of this was. The sad part is that GLIC has all of the opportunity to get it together and be better, but I happened to be on the receiving end of their sloppy practices. I paid thousands of dollars to be able to tell you to listen to the other negative reviews. Don't be like me and give the benefit of a doubt, you'll regret it just like I do.

What Naz Did for Us: Naz installed our in-suite whirlpool tub, which involved bringing plumbing from the master bath into the main bedroom suite, doing electrical work at the breaker panel, carpentry to build the frame for the drop-in tub and tiling over the whole enclosure and the floor. How Naz Conducts Business: He was professional from start to finish. Responsive phone calls to our initial inquiry, booties over his shoes when coming out to quote and a line item quote told me from the beginning that Naz is a contractor holding himself to a professional standard. Naz spent 3wks in our home and was SUPER great the whole time. There were a couple unplanned changes as the project progressed, but Naz was very agreeable and reasonable about everything--he even suggested a few to make the finished result better than we planned and we're so glad he did! Naz's Work: Naz is more than an installer--he's a craftsman that takes PRIDE in his work. He made a couple recommendations beyond the original scope of the project at his own expense because he believed it would look or function better. That's how much he CARES. My mother had seriously searched for years to find someone to renovate her bathroom. He is a master of his craft! Every person she called was either dishonest or greedy. I happened to find Naz through Google and all of his reviews were spot on. He is professional, kind, caring, timely, considerate, honest, and a perfectionist. I could literally go on and on about him. He went above and beyond his initial estimate. He is also very considerate of the customer and their future needs and will make suggestions when planning. After gutting the bathroom, he found that the electrical and plumbing was nowhere near up to code. I figured this, as the bathroom lighting stopped working years ago and the cold water from sink would not work. He re-did all of that without charging extra! He also fixed some things around the house that we noticed after he left that had not been working for at least a decade (I kid you not). He painted the bathroom twice to ensure the color was perfect. He also added in some extras in the bathroom that were a total surprise! The quality in the materials used is A1 and well within budget. We could not thank Naz enough for all of the work he has done in the home. When unveiling the bathroom, we both cried. It was emotional because of the time spent waiting for this day and the shock of the before and after. My mom is so proud of her bathroom and now is the talk of the neighborhood. They now refer to her bathroom as the HGTV bathroom. The pictures don't do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful! He made the process so easy. My mom told him a color and he put everything together himself! My mom is excited to work with him for future projects in the home. Called Goodall. They had a quote for me to fix the floor within the hour, and a guy to come out almost next day. They did amazing work. Pulled out all the rotting wood, replaced the floor, installed a new flange even. Also was able to unclog my grandma's tub. We were looking for a company and person to complete two jobs around our house. The other job was to enclose a front porch (with walls, windows, and a door. Now we are very picky when it comes to hiring a contractor. We tend to have multiple contractors come through to give quotes on a job. And I can say without a shred of exaggeration or doubt that Wagner Builders is the absolute best company I have ever hired to do a job at any of the properties I have owned or lived at. From the beginning Kevin (the owner) was unbelievably accommodating. He was willing to come over pretty the same day that I called him. When he came over he was attentive in listening to our needs and such a engaging person. He didn't talk over our heads or seemed rushed. He genuinely wanted to know what we wanted in our home. As he listened he would give suggestions as to ways we might complete the project and offered ideas without pushing an idea on us. One thing that was very helpful is he explained not only what he would do, but why he was recommending that. For example, many contractors had suggested ways to close off the bottom of my elevated porch. However, the ideas were mainly to completely shut it off in some way. Kevin explained that he wouldn't recommend closing it off as it would block off a vent to the crawl space and that could cause major issues long term under the house. Moreover, he even called about a permit and the requirements for a build right on the spot to make sure we all understood what the possibilities were on our front porch. No one had done that before. To me it showed he really cared about his craftsmanship. He sent us a quote that night (which was much faster than some who came and never even sent us a quote). He wanted to know what our budget was so he could tailor a quote to maximize what we could get for our money and budget. His quote was clear, itemized, and was well within our budget. He called to discuss the terms and answered all of our questions. Honestly, this is a factor that I really want to highlight. Mr. Wagner is extremely available if there are questions or thoughts. He answered our e-mails, returned calls, and even called us frequently throughout the process to give us updates, progress reports, to ask what we like, what we might not like, etc. I talked to Mr. Wagner on the phone more than any contractor ever. And this is such a great little touch to the level of customer service they provide. We asked to have some alterations made to the contract and he accommodated that request immediately and sent a new contract over via e-mail immediately. He then came the next day to have the contract signed. As soon as we had the contract signed he began working on ordering the materials. One really thing we really liked was he didn't just go get the basic material you could find anywhere. He went around our house on the outside to look at what was already there and wanted to match the style of the project to match our already existing home. He didn't ask for more money for this. He didn't say it would be harder. He just did it because he felt that was what should be done. Unlike other contractors we have had who simply wanted to give us stock options he worked a customized 4x4 Anderson window into our project that would be matched to the windows we already had. We were so impressed by his attention to detail. As we waited for the project to start, Mr. Wagner made several calls to us to check in with us to let us know what was going on. Again, I cannot say enough about how nice it was to have all the information. Once the work began our satisfaction definitely didn't diminish. The team showed up promptly around 7 a.m. each day and worked quite fast and diligently. There was not a single time we had to ask where they might be, or when they were coming back. Honestly, they were often there before we even went to work. Our back porch was done in essentially one day and the work was extremely well done. There was no mess and honestly they went way further than I thought when it came to items like the lattice. They dug down to make sure the lattice was deep enough to keep all critters out. They also installed extra posts to make sure the lattice was secured. They did this without raising the price or saying "surprise". They did this to make sure it was done right. The front porch was no different. They worked quickly and the quality was astonishing. The siding was perfectly matched to our outside siding. Every step of the process he would call once or twice a day to update us and let us know what was going to be happening next or to ask what we might have questions on. You will not be disappointed with this company. Their professionalism, quality of work, and attention to detail are unparalleled.
