I should have cancelled the project when they came out FIVE times to measure for windows by several different people. I thought they were being thorough but it actually meant they had NO IDEA how to measure. Well now we've spent months arguing with them about the windows not being the appropriate size because after they installed them, my siding DID NOT fit. They are literally off by 1-2 inches. The project manager's explanation was that "sometimes that happens" which was utter BS because I'm quite confident he knew he messed up royally and didn't want to have to deal with it. He said they would not replace all the windows. We had another contractor come out and pull the window apart and basically said it was wrong and he measured them all wrong. I even questioned him during the installation when two of the windows were grossly undersized and they didn't nail one side of the windows to the house, so he used spray foam to fill in the gap and drilled screws through the side of the frame and said that's how you fix it. They also did a horrific job of installing an exterior door which they came back and fixed. Well they came and replaced those two windows. Josh had them to agree to fix 13 more but we are over it & i dont need mis-matched windows all over. So we decided we would just have to reside the entire house because it's hurricane season and I've got siding loose around every window. We consulted an attorney who we can't afford, with 3k retainer and 300 an hour (and an unknown amount of hours it would take) and their home office is in Ohio so we'd have to probably get another attorney in Ohio for that with no guarantee we'd ever see any money from them for their epic failure. To top it off it's a Veteran Owned Company who totally screwed over two veterans. So lesson learned and do NOT recommend Freedom Roofing Windows and Siding out of New Bern NC for any jobs!

He put a sign in our yard after the job was completed and the sign reads, Efficient and Affordable. I couldn't agree more. We called several people to come and do an estimate before we decided on if we could afford a new roof. Some of the contractors did not return our call, or did not show up when they said they would. We had another estimate that was $20,000 more than the Pedersen estimate. Unbelievably outrageous! That person spent three hours here trying to convince us we why should pay that much. Shawn had a great warranty. He was very straightforward. He came here and simply gave an estimate; he was not pushy at all. He was great to deal with, his workers were very polite, and generally cleaned up. Shawn came here personally at the end and he made sure all the screws from our original roof were cleaned around the yard with a magnet. We had an issue with our previous roof leaking in an area and we've had one rain since it was completed and no leaks! I would definitely recommend considering him if you were looking at getting some estimates because he shows up when he says he will. And then, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up choosing him after (if) you hear from everyone else.

I had a great experience with Salgau Roofing!…read more I received three estimates on my roof, and Salgau was the middle estimate. The largest estimate was $4,000 more than Salgau. And when they came out the man was very condescending and spoke down to me and my adult daughter, who was visiting from Texas (she's an RN). He admonished me and told me my roof should have been replaced 5 years ago. ---I already knew my roof was bad......THAT'S WHY HE WAS THERE! When he left, my daughter and I felt like scolded children, so I decided I did not want to give them my money. The lower estimate was $1,500 lower. I received the estimate 3 days later than they said I would. (Three days isn't unreasonable, but a quick message saying it would take longer would have been appreciated). The estimate wasn't an itemized proposal, but one paragraph with a price. When I asked questions it took awhile for them to respond, and I felt like they were hard to get a hold of. I looked up their address which was a bit deceiving, because their Suite # is actually a PO box number, and I felt if I needed to get a hold of them after the job was done that it may be difficult. I asked about a warranty and he said there was a one year warranty on labor. (Salgau has a 10 year warranty on labor, and a limited lifetime warranty from Owens Corning on the shingles) When Corey (from Salgau) came out he was kind and professional. He sent an itemized estimate that same day. Salgau's estimate was the only one that included pictures of my roof. I went back and forth asking questions and Corey always replied promptly. I apologized for asking some dumb questions, and he made sure to tell me none of my questions were dumb and to 'ask away' making sure I understood everything and was comfortable with the whole process. I had a full tear down and replacement, and I can't believe it was done in one day (very hard workers)! -Except the copper flashing on my chimney, which was done the next morning. That same day I received the receipt, the labor warranty, and the info for the Owens Corning warranty---which Corey also helped me with. When they were done they cleaned up. My yard, driveway, and walkway looked better than it did before they started! My neighbors have complimented my new roof. And, for the first time ever, I looked forward to the rain that was forecasted yesterday....my leaky roof no longer leaks! :) I am so happy with my new roof, and very comfortable with my decision to choose Salgau. I highly recommend Salgau Roofing. And thank you especially to Corey. He was part of the whole process from start to finish. I also observed on the camera his crew using the ditch behind my house as their personal toilet, and his crew dumping their waste in the construction site next to my house. I paid One Source for the time and materials used that was observed on camera. FOUR YEARS later, Josh filed small claims court and presented no evidence.
