If you have a sweet tooth or like sweets, this is the spot for you! There are SO MANY OPTIONS for you to choose from. Personally, I enjoyed the gummy gourmet and buffet! It was delightful and wonderful to look at and choose from. The servers were brisk but maybe because they had so many people in the room. And the space was, in general, so enjoyable and comfortable. Willy Wonka would enjoy this spot!

There are actually two Bomboy buildings. The candy store is across the street from the ice cream shop, and didn't look open. Maybe it was but I didn't see anyone near that shop the entire time we were across the street. The ice cream shop is weird inside. There are two main areas, separated by a narrow hallway. The section where you buy the ice cream is small and cramped with people. The dining area looks like they just moved in, but it's looked like that for at least ten years. There aren't enough tables, and one whole corner is taken up by bales of bubble wrap - like to the ceiling. It's not very welcoming, but it was too chilly to eat ice cream on the porch. There are many delicious ice cream flavors to choose from, and a variety of cones. We got a cup of caramel flavored ice cream with a caramel swirl and cashews. It was amazing. I also had a Raspberry truffle milkshake that was tasty, but could have been a tad bit thicker. Jeremy had a cotton candy milkshake, too, because he can't resist. It was a great little pre-dinner treat. Haaa I'm an adult and can have my dessert first if I want!!

This place was a nice little stop after being on the water tonight. Their ice cream with chocolate pieces are made with the candy from the store across the street. I highly recommend the Peanut Butter Crunch. It doesn't have too many toffee pieces and the peanut butter chunks are pretty big. I think if you order a single, but want hot fudge on it they change it to a double, so keep that in mind. Their hot fudge wasn't worth the extra ice cream in my opinion. They have seating outside at cute little tables. It can get pretty busy inside (even 30 minutes before closing), but they do a good job of keeping the line moving. Also...their spoons change color in the ice cream!!!

I. Love. Ice cream. And this place did not disappoint! Their array of flavors was spectacular. They were all "normal" pairings but not necessarily common. For example I got the Oreo cheesecake. It was like cookies and cream with a cheesecake base. Wow. Why isn't this a thing?? The staff all patiently let us try flavors as we tried to decide what to get. Right across the street is their candy shop with everything from pickle cotton candy to dog treats (and of course your usual array of chocolates and fudge). This was a fun stop and will definitely go back if I'm the area again.

[Coronavirus review] They're keeping a limited and socially distanced enterprise running for now, so I decided to try the pride of Havre de Grace. I must say the people working there weren't wearing masks or gloves, which is getting to be a standard during these quarantined times; though if one is following normal and appropriate hygiene practices, it shouldn't make a huge difference. Still, putting on some of that hard-to-find PPE is a good thing. As to the ice cream, I tried a flavor called something like "chocolate overload" I think, which really lived up to the name. There were fine flakes of chocolate and a rich flavor throughout. I ate it slowly. The mint chip I was less impressed with; the mint flavor wasn't nearly as strong and the chips not that numerous. The waffle cone I added was nothing special. I didn't see anything about dairy-free or sorbets; pretty much straight ice cream here. The price was high, and for the better flavor I got totally worth it; overall a mixed bag experience.

So many yummy choices! The gretzels were sooooo good. Very flavorful Graham cracker flavor. Reminds me of a cookie. We also had the sea salt chocolate filled with caramel, milk chocolate, chocolate and hazelnut. All of them were so delicious!!! Will be coming back for sure!

I recently participated in Georgie Lou's Retro Candy's 6th Annual Sweetheart Stroll, and while this…read moremay have been their sixth time hosting it, it was my first time even hearing about it. I immediately corrected that mistake by buying a ticket the moment I saw the event posted--and then started counting down the days. The concept alone sold me: a ticketed, adults-focused stroll through downtown Carlisle, with participating small businesses offering tastings, experiences, treats, and deals. Sweethearts of all kinds were welcome--couples, besties, gal pals--and dressing in red and pink for Valentine's vibes was strongly encouraged. Say less. Ticketing was super easy, and Georgie Lou's did a fantastic job with pre-event communication, especially via social media. One post in particular deserves a shout-out: a reminder to bring a bag to carry your treats. This is something I absolutely would not have thought about until I was awkwardly shoving sweet treats into my coat pockets. I came prepared with a small reusable shopping bag (pink, obviously), and by the end of the stroll it was completely full of sweets, trinkets, and purchases. Meanwhile, others were struggling with overflowing pockets alongside gloves, hats, maps, and life regrets. Lesson learned. Excellent advice! I found parking around 1pm and headed to Georgie Lou's to check in and grab my materials. The staff were incredibly friendly, checked my name off the list, and sent me on my way with a Map of Hearts, a button identifying me as an official 2026 Sweetheart Stroller, and a small sweet treat to kick things off. I also took some time to explore the shop itself--my first visit--and wow! They have managed to pack an impressive amount of nostalgic goodness into a small space. Total blasts from the past, plus candies I'd never seen before. Super fun shop! From there, the stroll itself was a delight. Georgie Lou's clearly put a lot of care into coordinating participating businesses, and it showed. Most spots offered sweet treats, discounts, or special offerings, but every single business was warm, welcoming, and happy to have folks stopping in. Even though I've done a few downtown Carlisle walk-style events before, I still discovered shops I'd never been in--and every purchase I made that day was from a place I was visiting for the first time. That alone feels like a win. Overall, this was a fantastic way to spend a few hours on a very chilly January Saturday. It got me out of the house, walking downtown, supporting local businesses, and discovering gems I usually zoom past while driving from Point A to Point B. I had such a great time that I jokingly asked if I could pre-register for next year... apparently that's "not a thing yet." Fine. I'll wait. :) This has officially been added to my annual tradition list. Great event, great execution, great vibes. Well done, Georgie Lou's!
