The park covers about 470 acres and can be divided into 4 sections Tennis playground with pavallion softball field 6 athletic fields for rent There is a walking trail that I didn't realize that was there until one day I saw someone walking there... Looks like Cherokee County's parks are starting to rival some of the bigger towns around like Roswell and even Atlanta...watch out guys...here we come....

Rather, it is a wooded area with multiple mapped out trails, and some that are not mapped. You can spend a couple of hours here or all day and hike up to the Cherokee County line if you wanted to. There are multiple abandoned structures which were cool. The kids enjoyed playing in and around them and are there plenty of "off the beaten path" places to explore. People also bring their horses and bikes here, as it can get pretty muddy after a rain. I have also seen people doing photoshoots in this picturesque park.

This is an amazing park with hiking trails that literally go over the river (stream) and through the woods. Lots of different trails of varying degrees of difficulty. Great for a stroll, or actual exercise, if that's your thing. There's a wide open field with a cute barn, great for photos, that's about a 5 min walk from the parking place. There's also a little creek that runs down the middle of mountains, one steep, the other more gradual. This park has so many different types of trees, flowers, and mushrooms, and insects, with little plaques that let you know about the local greenery and wildlife. Also. YOU CAN BRING HORSES TO TRAIL RIDE! Horses!! We love going bc the kids almost always get to say hello to a horse or 4. Overall, just a really fun outdoor activity. So obviously touch all things at your own risk. General rule, take nothing but memories, leave nothing but foot prints... but we have picked some things for inspiring the kids in science. There's apps that identify plants, mushrooms, and rocks. I recommend having them. Pros -it's free. 100% free. -any skill level hiking -beautiful and calming -not too busy. -great open field with barn for pictures... or frisbee, running and singing songs about nature. Do you. -perfect picnic place -can hunt for mushrooms -can trail ride on horseback (byoh bring your own horse) Cons -a little hard to find the first time That's it. This places is a winner.

This park is dog friendly but they need to be leashed. There are a couple of baseball fields and a small playground area. I thought it was clean, shady and was in a decent location near the local neighborhoods. My wife and I hung out here for a bit while we were visiting her family. A newer park that is well maintained has a large playground, restrooms, paved walking/jogging path, 2 decks that overlook the river, and an entry point into the river that includes a hookup to lower your kayak or canoe for easy navigation into the water. There is a hydration station with 4 different uses. One for refilling water bottles, a second fountain for children, a third for pets, and a forth one, you could wash your boots off or your dog if they got dirty in the Etowah River! The county really thought of everything when they built this park. Covered pavilions that are free to use anytime but if you want to secure a pavilion for a party, there is a small fee. It's easy to a reserve a pavilion online through the Forsyth park website. Mature trees, benches to stop and rest and best of all history. There are information boards that give history of the local Indian population and how the area developed over the years. Forsyth County truly has some of the best parks in GA!

There are restrooms and a water bottle refill station right before the ADA trail starts. It's beautifully wooded and such a peaceful place to get in a walk and sit by the water. There are benches along the way and plenty of benches at the lake with a long deck. There were people fishing there when we visited. Definitely come take a stroll. It's gorgeous.
