Bolete is our favourite restaurant in St. Catharines - the food, drinks, service and atmosphere are all excellent! The staff are very friendly and genuine. We have never been disappointed dining here and the staff really care about your experience. The menu is high quality and we particularly love their fresh takes on their comfort classics! Their Sunday roast dinner has become a bit of a tradition at our house. It made for a lovely family event at the restaurant, which we now enjoy at home as takeout. During the pandemic, we've been savouring their takeout, cocktail kits, and market goods. I highly recommend the lobster mac 'n cheese and beef brisket as easy weekday dinners that wow the taste buds. They also have an assortment of epicurean market goods which staff are more than happy to give exciting recipe ideas for (rosemary plum ginger cocktail anyone?) at a variety of different price points.

We're here on one of the first Sunday nights (and there is a concert) and the place is hopping! The menu was interesting with seasonal options as well as vegetarian options, and the bar and wine list also reflect the Niagara region! I would definitely come back, especially to try out the oysters!

I'll have to give this restaurant another try. The seating was decent, but the food was not as impressive as I thought it would be given the price and atmosphere. I did like the dessert I had, though unfortunately I did not catch the name for my photo. It was a light chocolate "jelly" and mixing it with the various berry drops was really delightful.

One of the worst experiences ever and this is coming from a person who never complains. Food is mediocre, salmon and beef were overcooked. Portions are quite small... PEI beef bavette dish had 8 small bites of meat. Service was slow... took an hour and 45 minutes from sitting down to entrees to come out. Our table was set over the only floor vent in the middle of the restaurant... vent is about a foot in diameter and was furiously blowing cold air from under the floor right on us. Yes, this vent is huge and services the whole restaurant. We had a reservation... restaurant should have never put a table in that spot, it was absolutely horrendous. I would have preferred the restaurant to not take my reservation if they could not accommodate with a table where a huge vent is not blowing cold air directly on you. My recent McDonald's experience was much more pleasant.

Unimpressive food. It was okay. Charcuterie Board was anemic. Ribs and chicken dry. Waited 48 minutes for main meal. Not worth the price.

As far as vegan food goes, this establishment is just ok. Good, not great as they say. Maybe I'm…read morejust spoiled so it may be phenomenal for the area, but the falafel was bland, the peas in the rice a little odd, and spicy feta not spicy at all and very salty, and the "meat" or chili or something on the nachos (and oddly in the shawarma platter too) was just a strange flavor. I can't put my finger on it but it's just weird and very out of place. The wait staff was lovely, although when a friend asked for honey for her tea she wasn't given any alternatives for sweeteners, even though they had sugar. And the restaurant is very large so lots of seating and not super packed together either. We went in winter so not surprised at the temperature but it was very cold inside. All in all I'd only go again if there were no other options and I'd be satisfied but not blown away by any means.

I'd start by noting that vegan restaurants are a rare commodity, and that this one is good with a…read moreMediterranean menu. Service was great and ambiance was trendy casual. The food was commendable, although if I were at the grill, I would keep things on long enough to crisp up, namely the pita bread and the Greek potatoes. Not sure why -- easy enough to do. That may come down to taste. Bruschetta topping was very good, but the underlying pita absorbed moisture instead of having any crunch. The house made feta was impressive. I enjoyed the Greek platter which featured some very tasty skewers. We also had a falafel plate skipping the rice. Greek potatoes were tasty, but had no browning which goes back to my initial comment. Seasoning on everything was great. Falafels were not bad; well seasoned and flavourful- - I wondered if maybe there was black bean in them. Worth checking out. Not over priced

We…read morewere visiting nearby for a photoshoot, and just needed a place to unwind and grab some food. With its nearly two thousand Google reviews and tasty looking menu, it was a no brainer. Instantly as we stepped in the restaurant we were blown away by the elegant decor and ambiance. You could have a classy dinner date, birthday celebration, or even wedding here if you wanted to! The space is built for all kinds of occasions and has many private rooms and spaces for the same. We, of course, sat on the main floor, with a couple other people eating at 4PM. The service was professional and fast, although I didn't feel too confident on the menu suggestions they gave me. We ended up ordering the Braised Beef Noodle Soup ($18), DongPo Pork ($27) and Xiaolongbao ($7) to share between two people. We did not need the dim sum dish - the other two items had sufficient portion to have us full. The star was definitely the DongPo Pork, which was perfectly braised and super tender. With rice, it was delicious. The noodle soup, while tasty, was a bit overhyped by the waiter who made it sound life changing - not at all mad at it, but I have definitely had better. In St. Catherines, I would assume that 'better' does not exist, so I understand. Overall, great visit. On the pricer side for Chinese food (around $80 all in for two people) but it certainly is upscale dining. I don't live anywhere close to St. Catherines so unlikely to be back, but I will recommend it to my friends if they visit the area.

Many may already know them through the Wind group and their other locations. The atmosphere is one of the standout features -- modern and warm, while still embracing the building's historic architecture, with beautiful wooden rafters and ambient lighting that create a very inviting dining room. We enjoyed several Hong Kong-style dim sum dishes, and everything was tasty. That said, for a place specializing in authentic dim sum, I'd be remiss not to mention the surprising omission of Ha Cheung Fun -- with its silky delicate texture and sweet soy sauce, it's one of the true classics. C'mon guys, it's part of the "Big Three" of dim sum -- Har Gow, Siu Mai, and Ha Cheung Fun! Service was excellent -- our server was wonderful, attentive, and very thorough throughout the meal. A helpful tip many people may not know: there's a large parking lot directly across from the entrance, making parking much easier than it first appears. Overall, a beautiful space with solid dim sum and excellent service -- still one of the better options in the Niagara region. Saluti.

They have a hot pot side and a barbecue side and we chose all you can eat hot pot. They have lots of cuts of meat to choose from, plus fresh vegetable and noodle stations that are self-serve. We went with a dual pot of beef broth with spicy Mongolian seasoning and veg broth with Spicy Tom Yum. Both were great, but I especially liked the spicy Mongolian. We ordered quite a bit of meat (some beef tendon, sliced beef, sliced pork, salmon, and pork and shrimp dumplings) and it was all fresh and delicious. Veg included bok choy, cabbage, enoki mushrooms, and lots more, plus plenty of noodle varieties. They have a great selection here and there's surely something for everyone. We had a great dinner here. Everything was tasty and the service was friendly. We'd definitely visit again the next time we are in the area!
