They're not your typical HVAC guys who do the bare minimum and move on to the next job - they make sure everything is as good as it can possibly be. They completely replaced a 40 year old system in my house (2 floors) and came back to do the air handler in our attic. The situation was so bad in the attic that they actually called their dad off the bench and he came and fabricated ductwork in my driveway while they were fixing everything in my attic. It's really hard to find people like this nowadays. "I recommend them" is an understatement, as far as I'm concerned.

Kurt and Dun-rite were recommended by a trusted friend and they came out within a couple of days and actively worked to fit us into their schedule. They installed a new system for a competitive price (less) than the bigger company. Fast forward to about a month ago. The new system was triggering but not kicking in. With 90s in the forecast I emailed them at 10pm...and had a response the next morning at 7AM. Kurt and his Dad were out that day and had the routine (thankfully) maintenance done in a couple hours for a very reasonable rate. They are awesome, genuine guys. He was very flexible and even though he was going away for the 4th of July long weekend he still made it to my place the next day. He went well above and beyond what I hired him to do. He changed our all the filters and even added a cleaner tablet. He has a passion for HVAC and it shows in his work! Best part he is very reasonably priced! The problem was diagnosed as a bad condenser fan motor. He said they would have to get it from the factory. I was given a September 3 appointment. I asked if that was really how long it would take to get the part and was told it was just a place holder and I would get a better date when they got the part. I called a couple weeks later and asked if they had called the local A/C supply houses. They assured me they had. On September 4 I called again and told them they were fired and wanted my deposit back. I found the motor at an A/C parts house 2 miles from my house, got it in hand the next day and put it in in less than an hour. It took 11 business days to get my money back.

Their appointment window is 4 hours, and they repeatedly failed to show up or communicate in any meaningful way. This company clearly does not value customers' time. Taking time off, rearranging schedules, and waiting through long service windows only to be ignored is unacceptable. If something comes up, a phone call or even a basic courtesy notification would go a long way--but that did not happen here. Reliability and communication are essential for any service company, and unfortunately ARS Heating failed on both. I would not recommend them based on this experience.

We used Green Energy Mechanical to change our house from oil heat to electric heat pumps. We…read morealready had forced air, but they replaced all of the ducts on the first floor and extended them to the third floor. The owner Jonathan was the first person who came to our house. He and his colleague carefully took measurements and temperature readings throughout the house and then showed us their proposal. The whole consultation took a couple hours and was at no cost to us. Green Energy was the fifth and final quote that we got from HVAC companies and it was the one we chose to go with. They seemed to be up to date on modern technologies and talked about going to conferences and learning about new techniques. The plan for the HVAC renovation was elaborate and EXPENSIVE. I don't necessarily think that it was too expensive for what we got. In fact, I genuinely think we got a deal! They gave us less expensive options but we chose to go with the most expensive one. That was our choice. Three guys came to our house 4-5 days a week for about 2-3 weeks. The main guy was named Endrit who was clearly an experienced professional. We loved the ethnic and racial diversity of the crews. They were all sooooo nice and friendly. I felt very comfortable with them. They were also very clean, always putting down tarps on the floor. The only issue was with the electricity. They failed to identify that we didn't have enough electricity coming into the house from the street to support two heat pumps. They were kind of embarrassed but we understand that Jonathan isn't an electrician and didn't know. So, upgrading our electrical box was an unexpected expense that we HAD to do midway through this job. They set it up so that we could have AC in the summer, but we had to upgrade our electrical before using the heat. Communicating with the company went pretty smoothly. We could email office people or text managers and installers. They were pretty responsive. In fact, we came away with the thought that Green Energy is our favorite major contractor that we've ever worked with! I know that we were annoying at times but they never ever let on that they were bothered. They patiently answered our questions again and again! Green Energy did a final check of the HVAC system in the summer (with AC) and in the fall (with heat) to make sure that everything worked properly. They submitted our rebates for us to the state and it was SOOO nice to get a little money back. In the long term, we are eager to continue working with Green Energy. As part of this HVAC renovation, we have a warranty with them. We need to have them come and check on things every year which gives me peace of mind that the people who know our system best will be the folks maintaining it.

On the day the technician was due to arrive, I received a call saying I would need to pay either $680 for the visit or enroll in a $613 annual service plan. I was told there had been an error on their end and that I had been receiving VIP service longer than I should have. That was the first notice I received of this issue, and the technician was expected any minute. I understand that service costs money and administrative mistakes happen. My concern is being presented with these options at the last minute, without time to review my contract, ask questions or compare alternatives. I asked to speak with the CEO because I felt this should have been communicated well before the appointment and never received a call back.
