Not every place has it, and I like to get the tropical smoothie, add cucumber to it to get my son's veggies in for the day since he's a picky eater. Today my sister and I visited the Nektar at the village in Meridian. This is not our first time…read morecoming to the shop and we always had good experiences thus far. Today I ordered 2 juices that's were exactly the same, which contained only orange and pineapple. The cashier asked if we would like agave in the juice to which I said no thank you only the orange and pineapple. I also made it a point to ask if there are any additive such as milk or syrups in the drink, to which she said no only orange and pineapple juice(I asked this because my sister has a medical diagnosis that only allows her to eat and drink certain foods without any additives, preservatives or artificial sweeteners). I paid $31 plus a tip and we sat down to wait for our drinks. Our order was called and we got our drinks placed the straws in them and walked out. On our way to the car my sister tried her juice and says it tasted like orange juice that you get at the store(she can tell the difference due to us having a juice press at home and her making her own juices) I tried mine and sure enough it tasted like bottled orange juice that you would find at a grocery store(which she cannot have due to her medical condition). She turned around and walked back in to ask if they used orange juice out of the can or if it was freshly squeezed like advertised on their building and website. The cashier said that it was poured out of a jug but the pineapple juice was freshly squeezed and they ran out of oranges that is why they had to use orange juice form a jug. My sister then told the girls at the front that she cannot have orange juice out of the jug due to additive and sweeteners and asked if she could return them or get a refund, to which they quickly remade the drinks with freshly squeezed orange and freshly squeezed pineapple... One of the other girls that was working there came up and apologized and told my sister that the girl that made the juice is still learning?? I do appreciate that they did remake the drinks with oranges that they found but my biggest concern is that it is advertised to be fresh and clean juice. That is a serious health concern especially if the costumer is looking for specifically fresh whole produce due to health concerns. I think that the shop should be more honest about what they use in their "clean" and "freshly squeezed" juices/smoothies.

This location is much more open with more seating than their downtown place. The nature of the drink means that they use a lot of plastic...which is a bummer. I'd love to see them work on a solution. While I love these drinks, the price is steep. My 16oz drink was $4.23 and it took about 7 minutes to make. Neither of these things are deal breakers and I will be back!

Beware of the $10 pancake add on!…read more The food here has always been good. This morning I went in with my kiddo. He ordered the $7 kids breakfast, came with a pancake and a slice of bacon. The kid was overzealous and asked for an add on pancake (not necessary - could barely finish one). Maybe I should have asked before, but they literally charged me +$10 to add a single pancake! Which seems ridiculous to me, since the kids meal was only $7. Would have been nice if the waitress would have let me know "adding that pancake costs more than the kids meal." But whatever, I digress. Management did nothing to help and compared the cost to the adults meal. It would have been nice if they at least knocked 50% off of the $10 single pancake price, but nah.
