August and John were very welcoming to all the students and, after a short intro, we got to work. There were women of all ages and fitness levels, and all were really getting into it and learning. August introduced the right amount of stress to the training as we progressed and introduced real-world scenarios, which was extremely helpful. When I told a friend of mine (as I was showing off my new bruises :)) that it was 2.5 hours per class, she questioned "Why so long? They should do like 1-hour instruction & practicum, no?" My response was that I felt part of the training was to put you in stress mode and make you fight when tired. Again, real world. We took short water breaks, but everyone was excited to get back on the mat! I travel alone a lot for work and have had been in some situations I couldn't avoid, so I know the skills I learned (and will continue to practice) will be something I can draw on should I need to. My hubby is the knowledgeable one in the family and really likes this studio. I can see that it is well regarded just by the number of mostly kids who attend the adult evening classes. It's like a club of really great kids who are working their way to better themselves through this sport. The owners are a family who are all well trained martial arts experts. They are the nicest people you could ever do business with and trust to teach your kiddos. All classes are in their giant open studio. They also have a play area for young siblings and a small workout area. They set up an audience area to watch the kids practice. The location and parking lot are a bit hard to find for a first timer. They are way set back by the Christian Preschool. Finally be warned sports are expensive and this is no different. Tuition covers unlimited classes based on what is available on their schedule for your age/level. They test for the next level belt about every 6 weeks and It's recommended to practice at least twice per week to be ready to move up. My kids have been there for 5 months and are up 3 belts. Costs so far include tuition, belt testing, equipment, competition entry fees, and weapons.... We estimate it's cost about 1000 for all of those things per kid so far. As far as value, my couch potatoes are enjoying it and going willingly so as long as they are on the path, it's well worth it.

No martial arts experience . Nothing. They have a way of teaching kids that is superior to anything else Ive seen or heard about. This is not a jungle gym. It's a place to learn the best defensive martial art in the world. It's in a huge, clean studio where parents can watch their kids learn. Not some back room not set up for success. Led by a crew of highly trained upper belts. Team Rhino has been nothing short of a Miracle for our kids. Who should go here: kids who are getting bullied at school, kids who aren't getting bullied but perhaps they're on the smaller side for their age, girls should 100% be attending this. It is the closest thing to a superpower they will ever get. Safety, consistency, and a stellar curriculum round out this place. This place is not like places I learned bjj. These folks are welcoming and nice. They also have a stellar tournament group.
