I had the opportunity to plan and host a meeting at Boise Centre last week. I can't speak highly enough about my experience. From site visit, to contract, to event...the team at BC took great care of me. The venue is very clean, modern and stacked with an entire staff waiting to help with anything you need. This place was immaculately clean! Beautiful spread in terms of layout, rooms, size of rooms, and restrooms. The location is perfectly located in the middle of downtown and within a 2 to 10 minute walking distance from at least 5 hotels. On Saturday, their outdoor market is setup right outside the building, in their courtyard, which was a bonus. The ONLY downside, which is why they are probably so clean, is they do not permit ANY outside food or beverages...not even coffee. Responsive, attentive service, friendly staff, clean facility - I'd definitely book another event here. Pros. - they definitely have a system in place for their meetings and events. I felt confident from the moment I arrived that we would be taken care of. Maybe it was the walkie talkie they gave me, which I ended up using multiple times. - needed a few on the spot changes - extra 8 ft table, chairs , pens and food labels for allergy concerns. All were handled efficiently. This staff (Tessa and Kenzie) were incredibly accommodating! Our guests even complimented on the food labels and felt comfortable enough to enjoy lunch. - I felt like all on site staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. - we always like to validate parking at our events and this venue can't control that. They referred us to the city of Boise and we were able to secure parking validations in 3 surrounding garages. - very clean bathrooms and overall facility Cons: - a tad pricey but conference centers typically run higher. - only the main entrance was open for our meeting. I understand the need to control the flow but I wish the doors that were closest to our conference room were also accessible. (We had some frazzled and late guests due to an accident on the freeway so walking around the building added to the inconvenience. ) read more

I got to attend a convention of sorts held at the Boise Centre-it was an offshoot of Treefort and held the Hackfort-the sessions and expo hall for all things tech. At first, it was a little tricky finding the Boise Centre, since it's not visible from the street. But once you get the lay of the land and realize that it's in the middle of several buildings, it's pretty easy to navigate. There is not a dedicated parking lot, but there are several parking garages not too far away. Beware of the folks on the street trying to strike up a conversation about saving the children. Their organization may or may not be legit, but they are relentless and if you engage in conversation, they won't let you go. Back to the convention center-it's a rather small space, not like some of the others that I've visited where you'll walk a few miles in a day. This is more in line with what you'd expect at a midsize college campus. The staff are friendly and the space is clean. Bathrooms are clean and sized appropriately. I don't think I ever waited in line, but our group was on the smaller side, too. If I was planning an event for under 1,000 people, this would be one that I'd consider. read more

I guess when you live here you don't really get to play at cool places like this. What a dream boat we have in our backyard! This year I have been to the Boise Centre a few times to attend large gatherings that need space. I have been super impressed! One of our gatherings was for well over 1,000 people (all in one ballroom). This is a very clean and organized convention center. The food has been phenomenal and the amenities superb (large bathrooms too!!) Parking can be hard for larger conventions but you will find a spot. I can't wait for my next experience here! read more

If ur not a white, blonde college student, don't work here. They have a very high turnover rate, and the management yells at their workers instead of talking to them like adults and important individuals to the company. read more

The Boise Center is an extremely well organized, clean and functional space for events. We held an event there this last February. All of the staff were super friendly, helpful, and well organized. We were thoroughly trained on what to do in case of an emergency situation beforehand too. The upper floor meeting rooms have amazing views as well. read more

My husband and I take our toddlers here once or twice a week to splash around in the fountain, usually following a trip to Ben and Jerry's. It's a great way to beat the heat and keep the kids entertained for an hour or so for free. It's also great for people watching. read more

I ran an event here a few weeks ago and what a terrible experience. My event was set for 9am. When we got here chairs where still stacked next to tables, out AV did not work. The tables were wrong and linens dirty. The skirt around the stage was terrible. They had me an assigned "supervisor " that was a joke. Could not get anyone on the radio when calling. Ever. I need power for a booth that was discussed months in advance. I was told they could do it. Even paid for the power. Said power was not installed. Some guy named Nic came up to and said he was the director of operations and he could run power fr the ceiling to accommodate our needs. This guy was a very rude individual. He seems almost annoyed or to good to be dealing with me. After Sadi and done. We had a big power cord coming down that looked terrible. Bathrooms were disgusting and I had to keep telling this staff standing around doing nothing about it. I guess my colleagues have been here here before and dealt with this Nic guy before. When you think of event planning and venues, a good model is Vegas. The higher-end places will spare no expense and give you whatever power, amenities and whatever else you want. It's a great model, particularly if you want your guests pampered. This place is a lighter-scale version of that type of facility and literally everyone there gets the plan and takes pains to make it happen. It's very refreshing to find actual service in a service-oriented setting, strange as that may sound, but I know you all know what I mean. You'll get it here. Want to put up a bunch of signs up and down the corridor in the hallway? Done. Food catered? You got it (but don't try to bring it in yourself. They want to serve you, not have you try to provide it yourself). You can leave everything to them, including getting extra room if you want it and it's available. If your inclination is not to ice water, there are also very cool soda and energy drink machines as well. Loading docks? Got those, too. There's free wireless, but it's not secured. I'd anticipate they would get you a secured connection, if you wanted one, however. Parking is a bit of a chore, but just know going in that unless you find a spot on the street, you're paying for it. In the area is also a very cool fountain. Inside, there is very tasteful decoration that's visually appealing but also not obtrusive. In short, you could possibly find a better venue than this, but it would take some doing.
