We also got the corn salsa and the habernaro salsa, which were both delicious. They were at the South Side garage when we found them, so we got some kombucha and an old fashioned that did not disappoint. Cody was manning the truck that day and he was so friendly, helpful and knew all about how to veganize their food and made any necessary adjustments. He even came into the garage to double check on preparation for us. He gave us service that was exceptional. The food was delicious and we need to find CM again stat! Loved the location and the ambiance of the Garage as well. The one downside is that the "location" calendar was a little hard to use since I wasn't familiar with some of the places listed on it and didn't know where those places were since there weren't address on many of the listings. But, I'm sure that's a software issue they have no control over. If you see the truck, stop! It's worth a visit.

First, and most importantly, the lamb meat for the gyro cones from the meat on a spit which constantly spins next to a hear source and the meat is shaved off. This is the true way to do gyro meat. No other place that I know of does it like this. The difference is amazing. I moved here from Chicago and thought I would never have a true gyro again. I am so glad I was wrong. The onions and tomato are fresh and delicious. The tzatziki sauce is the best I have tasted in Asheville. We got to meet the owners, Alex and Ashleigh Baxevanis. They are wonderful people and super friendly. The food truck is in the parking lot of some seafood restaurant, I forgot the name. I wish the owners the best of luck and I know that even if they only served gyros and ditched the rest of the menu, this place will be a hit once word has spread.

The food trailer in some of the pictures has been replaced by a building on the edge of Troyer's parking lot. You order at the window and most times there's going to be a line. It's a takeout business so you are on your own if you want to eat right away. The folks are friendly and efficient and orders are filled quickly once you get to the window. But it was very good. I also got the pretzel which is also ginormous. Next time I'll ask for it without salt because even wiping off all the salt it was still very salty but it was very very good and soft. If you don't have time and your rush then don't bother coming here because it was probably about a half an hour wait in line.

PETEY! PETEY! PETEY!!…read more Last weekend was the first weekend of the Georgia Apple Festival and I knew that this was my best chance to locate a mini-donut vendor. I love those little donuts but they aren't always available in the larger markets so when I see them, I get very excited. My daughter and I reviewed the vendor list ahead of schedule and when we saw this vendor (Petey's Doughnuts), we knew that we would be having donuts for breakfast. Yay!! I also knew that I would have to pack my own powdered sugar because you either get very little or they only offer the cinnamon and sugar combination. I ONLY want a generous amount of powdered sugar on my donuts. Prior to Petey, we had to see the caricaturist because if you aren't first in line, you can have a crazy wait. When we arrived at Petey's, there was no one in line and the donuts were hot off the press. We purchased a dozen that were half the price of the ones found at the Atlanta area festivals. We immediately started dumping them into our bag of powdered sugar and devouring them. It was like heaven, like what I imagine a carnivore experiences after six months in a vegan prison. As my husband approaches us, I lift my head long enough to have him purchase another order. At one point I notice the owner just looking at us as if we were eating an infant. She slowly approaches us and offers napkins which we gladly accept. She backs away only to reappear minutes later to offer us a paper bowl. Too Late! It is over, it is done. I accept the bowl, fold it and place it in my bag, (just in case). Ahhhh, that moment alone was worth getting up before 5 am and making the trip to the festival. It was definitely the high-light of my visit. Petey's Doughnuts are absolutely delicious: fresh, hot and just crazy good. You get to watch every phase of the process from the dough going into the machine to the little donuts popping out and cooking to golden perfection. If watching this does not get you in a mouthwatering mood, something is definitely wrong with you! You will definitely want to be on the look out for this vendor at the up and coming fall festivals. Well done Petey, I will definitely see you next year if not sooner! Prepare to be stalked!

They had a free sample available of their cookie butter, which was absolutely delicious. The guy at the window said he just finished making a batch of caramel and gave a taste of that too and WOW! So good!! I ended up buying a jar of each cuz it was so good. It also inspired me to order a cookie butter milkshake, which was to die for. Customer service was fantastic. Absolutely worth the stop!
