I unfortunately have nothing good to say about my experience here. The environment was not what you expect at a hot yoga class, as it was extremely lit, covered in mirrors, too hot to even breathe comfortably, and not friendly. It is listed as a class suitable for all levels, and as a beginner I was struggling immensely. The instructor spoke quite literally the entire time, which made it feel extremely demanding - there was no moments of silence, as everything was on a count. She also said a few things that made me uncomfortable. She told us the following things in a very judgmental tone: we shouldn't be wiping our sweat (this is a HUGE personal preference as I tend to sweat excessively), we need to lock our knees during every move (many trainers and instructors have explicitly said this is dangerous to do to your body), and threatened to separate me and my friend if we couldn't "keep it down" (after I spoke whispered 5 words to her). She also didn't do any of the workout with us, so as a beginner I was having trouble figuring out what I'm supposed to be doing. The studio also seemed like it could be cleaner and the customer service wasn't anything special at all. Overall, I would not recommend this studio.

Best hot yoga studio in NYC. Tons of class choices. Music classes. Original 90 minute Bikram classes. Shorter 60 and 75 minute classes. Vinyasa. Yin Yoga. And hot HIIT. Amazing teachers. Not all are my favorites but they do have standouts like Bob Harper, Georgia, Lyuba, John Mabry, Jon S., & Kathleen. All fantastic humans and yoga instructors. I'm so grateful for this place and the community that surrounds this studio!

Bodē has great classes and instructors, but it's a little expensive even when you buy multiple classes and they charge 5$ to use a yoga mat.

During our whirlwind of a weekend visiting NYC, my husband and I woke up on a Saturday morning and…read moredecided we could both use a little bit of yoga to start our day... We searched Yelp for a nearby studio with a class that was appealing and we found that this new Midtown East CPY studio had a Core Power Yoga 2 class that morning... we weren't sure we'd make it, and we walked in just a few minutes before the class started, but the ladies at the front desk worked with us to get us registered and into the class and we were so appreciative. Kelsea W was our teacher and she was fabulous... she had some unique sequences that allowed my mind to focus on the present moment and just move / enjoy the class. Needless to say, it was exactly what I needed! The studio itself is spacious, offers lockers, bathrooms, water refills, a bit of a retail store, mats, towels, and more... So yes, CPY is a chain, but it's consistent and if you find the right teacher / class, you'll get just what you need in that moment. Thanks again, Kelsea!

Came here for a Sunday 930am C2 class with Kate and it was great. I really enjoyed the class, I…read moredon't do yoga regularly and I still felt like I could keep up the only part that was a little different or the ab exercises but otherwise it's pretty doable. There's people of all levels and abilities in the room so you don't feel out of place. it's a bummer that they don't really have towel towels available for showering afterwards. I did feel like there was a lot of hair. It was on the shower wall and on the floor in the studio and outside of my studio. Be sure to bring everything you need because towels and mats are additional. If you forget something, they definitely have everything there for purchase the unisex bathrooms have a toilet sink and shower each with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, Q-tips and tampons- no hair ties here. There are also plastic bags to put your wet workout clothes in, but you might miss them because it's on the first floor on a side table with stickers and signage. I would definitely check out their other classes. I did this one through ClassPass but I know they have promo deals all the time and I love hot yoga in the winter.

It's a very spiritual focused studio but they also care deeply about the biomechanics and functional movement. I started going here for the Bikram and loved it every time because every week I would learn something new to improve my form and connect more deeply. Lately I've been more into the Meridian and Vinyasa classes which are not heated and less hot but challenge me in a different way with more inversions, some pressure points, and some new positions. The instructors are amazing and so down to earth. Highly recommend for a grounding and welcoming experience!

Also, and it is just my personal experience, the other practitioners seem to follow the same vibe as the people that work there; friendliness is a top down phenomenon. I've seen people of all body-types, all genders, all ages, and all races at Spiritlab. Everyone is accepted. The 26&2 teachers are top notch. There is not one bad teacher. I've learned helpful things from each and every one of them. I also took the 26&2 fall training last year and if you want to learn how to teach, it's a great experience.
