Body bar is consistently the traditional reformer Pilates studio I am looking for. The instructors are also great about correcting form.

The Pilates Krewe opened in November of 2020 and it is my favorite Pilates studio in the Tampa Bay…read moreArea. This studio has capped its membership to 100 members. This ensures that there are smaller classes with the six reformers utilized in the studio. Instructors have the improved ability in these smaller classes to assist and guide members unlike the other studios with the larger classes. Membership is $199 a month for 16 classes which gives you the ability to get all your workouts in a month. All the instructors have undergone the necessary hours and training to become certified in teaching the many levels of classes offered. The studio adheres strictly to COVID-19 protocols with the following: - Members book their classes via app/online. - Temperature check for all those who enter - Constant cleaning of all equipment both by the members at the conclusion of their session and by the instructors in between classes Last but not least, Sydney and Dan, the owners of the Pilates Krewe are the heart and soul of this studio. They both constantly work to maintain their studio excels members' expectations. Thanks for all that you guys do!

I enrolled in The Pilates Krewe's teacher training with a lot of excitement and genuinely wanted to…read morebuild a strong foundation as a Pilates instructor. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing, and I made the decision to withdraw from the program. My biggest concern was the lack of clarity and support throughout the training. Students were repeatedly instructed to save our questions for meetings or consolidate them into one email. While I understand that instructors cannot respond to an endless number of emails, questions naturally arise as you are learning, practicing, and trying to understand the material. I often felt that instead of receiving clear answers, I was left with even more questions and frustration. There were also significant issues surrounding the required observation and self-practice hours. We were told where we could take mat classes, but there were very few classes available. When we asked where else we could go to complete our required hours, it took multiple conversations to receive clear information. When I finally received information about other options, I learned that completing these hours could require additional money to take classes. What ultimately pushed me to withdraw was receiving a PDF that was supposed to help answer our questions about available instructors and opportunities. Three instructors were listed, but when I went to look for their classes on the actual schedules, I could not find them listed. As a student trying to fulfill required training hours, this was incredibly frustrating and made me question the accuracy and usefulness of the information being provided. I also felt there was very little room for students to openly discuss concerns about the structure and design of the program. The cumulative experience left me feeling that I was spending more time trying to figure out how to navigate the program than actually learning how to become a Pilates instructor. I want to be clear that my issue was not that the training was challenging. I expected it to be challenging. My issue was that I did not feel I was receiving the level of clarity, guidance, communication, and educational support I expected when I enrolled. I ultimately withdrew because I lost confidence in the program and no longer felt that continuing was the right choice for my education. I am sharing this review because I believe prospective students deserve to know what my experience was like before making a significant financial and educational commitment. I sincerely hope TPK takes this feedback seriously and considers making meaningful improvements to the student experience.

Hitting the stairs in hyde park heading to car was such a task. The reformer is operated from both ends, there are multiple gadgets to alter the tension on the pulley. There is also gadgets to help with modifications. There are optional weights. The room is pretty dark with cool neon blue lights, sort of help with focus. I do feel like half way through, the AC could've been pumped up a bit. I'd suggest wearing no socks, unless grippers and long leggings because the leather on the reformer can get slippery from sweat and you know other people's sweat to consider from previous classes - though there are wipes! There's no actual demonstrations, so be sure to listen to the instructions verbally being stated. As a first timer, it took a while to understand some of the names of the pieces of the reformers but Jodi, our instructor, was motivating, energetic, and helped assist when necessary. No idea how she did all at once lol Jodi had a great playlist as well. There is a code emailed to those schedule for the class because the door stays lock for safety. There are lockers for your things - I didn't know how to work it, so I, like many, brought there things in the room and stored it under the reformer and out the way. The bathroom has all the necessities - spray deodorant, tampons, hair supplies, and more.
