The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and my physiotherapist, Vicky, is truly phenomenal. I highly, highly recommend her if you're in need of physio, she is all kinds of amazing! Car accidents suck but your recovery doesn't have to. In our initial assessment, she helped me fill out a ton of paperwork and gave me the ins and outs of physio and auto insurance. She has been treating me weekly for several months for injuries sustained from an MVA and I see a huge improvement already! Aside from the run-of-the-mill physio exercises and various treatments, I had acupuncture here for the first time as well. I ask her a ton of questions and Vicky is great at looping me into the process.

The clinic staff informed me that I could get representation if I wish and they could assist me in that aspect should I run into any problems dealing with the insurer. As I did not have any problems with the insurer I did not need to take it to that level. As a result I saved money because I did not have to pay a penny to anybody to help me. !!! If you have been injured in a car accident I would highly recommend this clinic for treatment.

I came to St George Physio for an ongoing knee injury. The staff were all very friendly, and the…read moreclinic is spacious and clean. They offer student pricing. Full disclosure I came for 3 or so appointments. My physiotherapist came to a similar conclusion about my injury as my family doctor had, which was a positive first sign. From there, I felt like I barely saw my physiotherapist and when I did, she seemed rushed. A half hour appointment would consist of having ultrasound and TENS machines used on my knee (TENS machine is you lying alone in a room with the TENS machine for 15 minutes), so I'd have human contact for literally 5 minutes out of the half hour I was there. It just didn't seem worth the money and most importantly, the time spent. Any physiotherapist can give you exercises to do, but it takes the right one to truly be invested in your care, spend the time with you and ensure you're making progress week after week. All in all I felt like this clinic relied way too much on the use of ultrasound and TENS machines (at least for my particular injury), and the lack of person-to-person care made me take my bum knee elsewhere.

I was lead into a room to do something similar to a test. another guy does the baseline review with me. I went to check out and there was a 95 fee. Baseline reviews are free, so I asked how come. Turns out the first guy didn't tell me what he was doing for me. He goes on to babble about how he needed to assess my physiology for my concussion. That he knew I would fail my baseline anyways. Ironically when I came in he told me that likely the numbers would match and that's just what happens. The other guy told me I was pretty close however I have symptoms. Garbage clinic for ripping off old folks. I had a bit shocked and paid and turned around after I left. Tore them a new hole and didnt pay for a bs fee. Don't ever go there, waste of my morning. Within a few sessions I was feeling so much better. The staff at Synergy cares about what they do and wants to help the patients. My therapist took the time to ask me all kinds of questions about why I was there and what my specific goals were for seeking out physiotherapy. They did hands on manual therapy to ease tension in my back and neck, explained to me why I was having the pain and what I could do about it on my own. I really loved that my physio took the time to send me an email link with a customized home exercise program videos that I could easily follow on my own. All in all the clinic experience has been the best I have experienced. One more great thing is that the clinic is within a 2 minute walk of the Woodbine subway station and is right on Danforth.

I did some research and discovered Synergy Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and liked that it was near the subway and that people in the neighbourhood recommended it so highly. I showed up in a medical boot with laryngitis (which I got the day before, damn it) so I wrote up all the details so my physiotherapist Jesse Awenus could get a good take on my particular situation since I literally could not speak for myself. I will admit that when I showed up that it was not just my ankle and throat that were broken. I hated walking in there so 100% vulnerable but it had been three weeks since I hurt my foot and it was no longer improving at all. As someone with fibromyalgia, any little injury can mean long term problems so I was just heartbroken. Jesse took my situation very seriously and was compassionate but tough in his belief that I can heal. His treatment was excellent and the exercises I went home with for homework were very effective. I went from being scared to do anything to make the situation worse to confidently working through the discomfort to build strength. He is clearly a highly trained healer that took my sorry grumpy pants ass and made me believe I could walk again. The photo with me wearing the black shoes was taken the first day I went for a walk without the boot, just a couple of weeks after treatment. I even felt comfortable enough for him to do manual manipulation which ended up realigning my foot dramatically. If I could afford to keep going every week, I would. Jesse did his best with the time and budget I had to get me walking again which I am! I even went on the subway yesterday for the first time. I have been to a lot of physiotherapist. I have never had a more positive experience. The space is bright, the people are friendly and the treatment is beyond impeccable. My only complaint is having to climb those stairs to get to Jesse's office but because the work he did was so impressive I will not hold that against the clinic. That said, there do seem to be offices on the main floor so please make sure that if you have severe mobility issues to call ahead to make sure the stairs will not be an issue. Thanks to Synergy Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation I can now get back to my foodie reviews! For the first time in a long time I have hope in my ability to heal. After being on an 18-year healing journey since my fibro diagnosis, that is, quite frankly, a miracle. ~ Suzie The Foodie

I visited the clinic in person to book my first appointment. I let them know what I wanted to have looked at, then they promptly scheduled me in with one of their available doctors. They appear to have enough doctors on staff that finding openings isn't the hassle it often is. During my first appointment, I let my doctor know that I was experiencing some knee pain. I further explained that I couldn't quite pinpoint the causal event. After some short conversation about the type of pain, where it was located specifically, a discussion of what activities would aggravate the injury, and direct stimulation of the area, she was able to identify the cause and explain to me in approachable terms what the injury was. But what good is a diagnosis without relief, right? The first treatment started with some massage therapy to the knee and surrounding muscles. She then made use of a "shock therapy" machine, which is a tool used to rapidly impact the injured area, thereby breaking up scar tissue. What I'm told is a "class four" laser was used to stimulate healing. Importantly, she also introduced me to several exercises, meant to strengthen associated muscles so that I could avoid a similar injury in the future. To be honest, after the first appointment, I didn't feel much difference if any, but regardless, I gave it a second go, and thank God I did. We essentially went through the same procedure again, and as if by magic (but actually science) I felt zero pain by the end of the session. Sadly I'm not Wolverine, so this complete relief was temporary, but the progress was undeniable. All in all the experience was very positive. I should say that I've never been to see a chiropractor prior to this experience, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. That being said, I think they do fine work here, and I'd be happy to recommend them.

I sprained my neck on the Go Train (yes on the Go Train, can you believe that?!) prior to my business trip and I felt very uncomfortable. My whole neck, shoulder and upper back were so tight. Thank god I found Dr. Choi and Dorothy Ho! Dr. Choi is a chiropractor at this clinic and she knows her stuff, a few shock here and there with the machine (I don't have a science background!), massage and neck adjustment really eased the tension a lot. She also teaches you a lot of stretch moves to strengthen the impacted area so you feel better quicker and prevent future injuries better. To help speed up the recovery process, she introduced me to the RMT that works at the clinic also, Dorothy Ho. Dorothy Ho is probably one of the best massage therapists i had, the initial visit assessment was very detailed and once you lay on the massage bed just a few push here and there and she already knows which area is tight and require a work on. She did my whole upper back, shoulder and neck so well that I felt a lot better the next day despite the soreness. Overall, MSK clinic is very professional, clean and client oriented! It is a very difficult and lonely road to travel when one lives with constant, never ending pain. Aside from the fact that it is depressing, debilitating and frustrating to try and live a normal life, it is also very degrading and embarrassing to constantly have people treating you, listening to your sad story and at times wiping away your tears. By chance one day I walked into HealthMax Physiotherapy clinic as it was very close to my home and I decided to try one more clinic before giving up altogether. I had the good fortune of meeting with the wonderful doctors, therapists and staff and immediately felt like part of a caring family and I have been receiving treatment ever since. Dr. Mirza not only devoted hours of his valuable time to talk to me, often late into the evening so as to try and determine the correct course of action for my various issues, but he also made a point of following up and looking into many different options to help me in every way possible. He gave me hope which was something I lost a while back. I cannot thank the doctors, therapists and staff at HealthMax enough for all that they have done and continue to do for me. I believe I have finally found the right people to help me on this path of recovery, people who will not let me give up even though at times it is so difficult.
