Following a full knee replacement, I received excellent therapeutic care from Physiotherapists Perin and Michael, and acupuncture from Dr. Kwong. Under their first-rate care, I achieved full range of motion within eight weeks, and was able to perform most everyday tasks without pain or difficulty. The effective exercises, guidance and advice helped me through the recovery process with unexpected haste, and I had regained great mobility in a short period of time. I've been here to treat two separate injuries that I've had over the years. The first time was probably about 10 years ago. I had a great experience then and this time as well. My primary physiotherapist was Joanne. My first visit, she put me through several exercises to assess my injury. The next step was to go over recommended exercises to help with my recovery. She let me know that if I had any reservations about being in the common area with everyone else, they were able to set me up somewhere else. Not every physio facility is able to do that so this was definitely a bonus. Subsequent visits were more treatment oriented like using the TEMS machine and some soft tissue treatment. They had assistants of both genders and I was asked if I was okay being treated hands on by those of the opposite gender. The staff are all very pleasant and courteous. I have suffered from back pain for longer than I can remember and I have tried physiotherapy a number of times. Sometimes it helps for a day or two but the pain always comes back. But then I met Raj, the physiotherapist at this place. His hands on approach was like none I had experienced before. When he was done with his treatment I felt like I had gained back 2 inches in height I had lost over the years. He also recommended that I add acupuncture and massage as part of my treatment plan. And he recommended a brace for every day support. The pain isn't completely gone but I have longer stretches of pain free days and can once again feel productive. I was in such terrible pain for last10 weeks which I was unable to even sit down. The pain was caused by 2 slipped disks which one was pinching a nerve. Made an appointment with Pickering Physiotherapy Institute and was introduced to Joseph who was looking after me. After 3 visit I was still in a lot of pain but was not given up on, in fact Joseph even recommended I go back to my doctor to get more imaging done on my back since he felt he was not helping me. INSTANT TRUST from that point on with him. Last night Joseph tried treatment and stretching then normal, Can't explain the difference I felt this morning, getting out bed was easy, in past was so much pain, today I feel like a different person. Not a good experience dealing with them. The therapist was trying to evaluate my injury. And after 40 minutes of being poked and prodded he indicated that I wasn't giving him appropriate response for my condition. Eventually indicated that I should go and get some x-rays or a CAT scan and rebook appointment with my doctor. The x-rays indicated no bone structure issues. Four days went by in uncomfortable pain before I could get either another appointment booked with these people or through another clinic. When the appointment that was available 4 days after at this clinic they indicated that I would have to go through another evaluation but that the first person who had evaluated had to be present during the second one and that he would not be available until after the weekend. which would've meant six days since this all started. I wasn't happy with the service. I asked for the front line people to get a general manager to call me back to voice how disappointed and unpleased I was about the service. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago the crickets are still Chirping.they don't seem to care about The patient needs just a thoroughly disappointing encounter with the business. read more

Ever since my car accident, my neck has never felt the same. Add to that 10 hours a day siting in front of a computer and some days I felt so tense and uncomfortable, I could barely stand it. The team of physiotherapists and chiropractor at Pickering Physio Institute had me feeling better in no time. They also took the time to show me stretches and exercises to help me maintain myself everyday. The clinic is clean, bright and airy and the staff are great! I've been to much better physio facilities. Pressured to sign up for additional services. Communication wasn't very effective.

I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago and it hasn't been getting better. This clinic got me in same day and I was seen both the physio and chiropractor to ensure that I got the best reco for treatment. After only two visits, I am feeling a lot better. The staff are super friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and seem genuinely interested in getting me better not just masking the symptoms so I keep coming back forever. Spoke with a lady in the waiting room who swears that Dr. Malik is the best chiro she has ever seen! Highly recommend this clinic. I am going to try a massage here next week and will report back on that! read more
