He is so passionate, so knowledgeable, so patient, so persistant, empathetic, considerate and most of all, a miracle worker. He has helped me with my chronic back pain, muscle and nerve damage for years now. I have been seeing him on and off for years now (due to my injury and my line of work I have good years and then I have bad weeks). He has used acupuncture (which I don't tolerate well and he is so patient with me :)) on me, active release technique/therapy, that fancy machine he uses for muscles and nerves and most of all, he has given me the tools to work on my lower back at home as well. Leslie is my physiotherapist. Dr. Ali has introduced her to me and she is currently working on my muscle damage and is doing wonders. They are a dream team as they both work well together to rehabilitate and help. Ali's staff - friendly, persistant (about getting me in if I am not anwering my phone right away), answer their phones right away and respond to e-mails within 30 minutes or less. They work with my crazy schedule and make sure I am happy with the scheduling. Forever grateful for your team Ali. Same with my spouse.

In keeping with my pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, I've recently gotten into Olympic weightlifting…read more Sadly, along with this new hobby has come an injury or two, so in comes MSK Clinic. I visited the clinic in person to book my first appointment. I let them know what I wanted to have looked at, then they promptly scheduled me in with one of their available doctors. They appear to have enough doctors on staff that finding openings isn't the hassle it often is. During my first appointment, I let my doctor know that I was experiencing some knee pain. I further explained that I couldn't quite pinpoint the causal event. After some short conversation about the type of pain, where it was located specifically, a discussion of what activities would aggravate the injury, and direct stimulation of the area, she was able to identify the cause and explain to me in approachable terms what the injury was. But what good is a diagnosis without relief, right? The first treatment started with some massage therapy to the knee and surrounding muscles. She then made use of a "shock therapy" machine, which is a tool used to rapidly impact the injured area, thereby breaking up scar tissue. What I'm told is a "class four" laser was used to stimulate healing. Importantly, she also introduced me to several exercises, meant to strengthen associated muscles so that I could avoid a similar injury in the future. To be honest, after the first appointment, I didn't feel much difference if any, but regardless, I gave it a second go, and thank God I did. We essentially went through the same procedure again, and as if by magic (but actually science) I felt zero pain by the end of the session. Sadly I'm not Wolverine, so this complete relief was temporary, but the progress was undeniable. All in all the experience was very positive. I should say that I've never been to see a chiropractor prior to this experience, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. That being said, I think they do fine work here, and I'd be happy to recommend them.

I sprained my neck on the Go Train (yes on the Go Train, can you believe that?!) prior to my business trip and I felt very uncomfortable. My whole neck, shoulder and upper back were so tight. Thank god I found Dr. Choi and Dorothy Ho! Dr. Choi is a chiropractor at this clinic and she knows her stuff, a few shock here and there with the machine (I don't have a science background!), massage and neck adjustment really eased the tension a lot. She also teaches you a lot of stretch moves to strengthen the impacted area so you feel better quicker and prevent future injuries better. To help speed up the recovery process, she introduced me to the RMT that works at the clinic also, Dorothy Ho. Dorothy Ho is probably one of the best massage therapists i had, the initial visit assessment was very detailed and once you lay on the massage bed just a few push here and there and she already knows which area is tight and require a work on. She did my whole upper back, shoulder and neck so well that I felt a lot better the next day despite the soreness. Overall, MSK clinic is very professional, clean and client oriented! This will now my go to place to get my massage and chiro treatments! Make sure you call to make an appointment in advance!

I also liked learning more about traditional Chinese medicine and how treatments are tailored to each individual. My experience was just okay overall. I understand that acupuncture often requires multiple sessions to achieve the best results, so one visit wasn't enough for me to evaluate its effectiveness. While it wasn't quite the experience I was hoping for, I can see why others who are committed to a full treatment plan may find it beneficial. I'd recommend going in with realistic expectations and discussing the number of sessions that may be appropriate for your goals. This wording is fair, explains why you're giving 3 stars, and doesn't criticize the clinic unfairly or make claims about the treatment's effectiveness. It also aligns well with the balanced tone you've used in your content.

Summary: excellent, knowledgeable physiotherapy is offset by inconsistent or unsatisfactory…read moreexperience at the desk. But the physiotherapist herself was so good that I am going to be back and hope the office and administrative part of the experience was just a fluke. Be wary of "free" consultation. TL;DR: excellent physio experience, terrible office experience. What I Tried: Physiotherapy What I Liked: Physiotherapist Priyanka conducted a variety of tests to isolate specific issues with specific muscles. She was comprehensive, friendly and knowledgeable. She prescribed exercises that were logical to my issue. Most importantly, she explained my challenges and answered all my questions with in a logical and friendly demeanor. A+ What I Didn't: Punctuality (15 min late). Administrative disorganization (had me fill in same forms twice before realizing). Also, the television mounted on the wall plays a repetitive ad that drove me crazy. Felt a bit ripped off. What I'll Try Next: One more round of physio, maybe two. I'd consider more, but pricing! Also.. Maybe orthopedics. Possibly massage. DETAILS: I have been looking for a physio place in the area and decided to give Absolute a try. They offer a free* consultation for your first visit and I figured I'd see if they could tell me more about my hip pain. I do a lot of reading and research on my own (internet physios what's up... AthleanX and 'Bob & Brad'l!) so I had a rough idea, but specific confirmation and clarification from an in-person meeting is better. My 7 pm appointment started 15 minutes late. I had prefilled all my paperwork in advance, so, as I had told them, I only arrived 6 to 8 minutes early instead of the 15 they recommended... I don't mine 5 to 10 minutes lateness, but 15 was a bit excessive since THEY charge $25 if you miss YOUR appointment time with them. This lateness was exacerbated by the ad playing on the TV mounted on the wall. It's a slideshow video on repeat, and it inspired me to bring earphones next time. My annoyance, however, was nearly instantly dispelled when I spoke with the actual physiotherapist, Priyanka. SHE KNOWS HER STUFF. She had me do a series of actions to isolate and determine the issue, clearly explained each exercise test and it's aims, and was oozing knowledge. She used the model skeleton to explain where necessary, and conjured up clever metaphors to help me understand. She also noted it would only take 2 or 3 sessions for me to recover, and told me what exercises to get started on, and did a demo, and gave me feedback on my form. Excellent! Here's the tricky part. She then asked if I wanted treatment today. Appointments are generally 45 minutes long... I had been taken in 15 minutes late... the consultation had taken about 20 minutes or so. So we are sitting at 7:35 or so, and I thought, 'sure'...? I get some hands-on muscle loosening work for about 10 minutes, then the assistants strap me to some nodes connected to a machine and I was left on my own with the electrotherapy... which really didn't do much for me. The centre closes at 8, so about 15 minutes later, I'm off the machine and get along my way. At the exit, I was informed that last 20 odd minutes would be the full $100 since I had gotten the "electro treatment"... Well, I don't agree BUT to be fair... I 100% think Priyanka's free* consultation was worth the $100. But I figure IF that was free, then the 20 or so minutes at the end was only half the treatment I'd normally get. Who charges $100 for 20 minutes!?! That should have been $50, max. And if that was for the full 45 minutes I was there... then the consultation WASN'T free as advertised. Womp womp. This left a good feeling in my hip but a bad feeling in my mouth. Plus, at the end, they also mistakenly got me to fill out the same insurance forms at the end that I had already filled them earlier (but they realized halfway). Hoping for better experience on my next visit and will update review accordingly! Most health places reply to unsatisfactory reviews by saying they look you up in the system but can't find you. In case this happens... check Wednesday July 31, 7 pm :)
