I had extremely high expectations for my visit. I read through the reviews and waited 2 weeks for my appt. I even booked an extra long appointment because of the great reviews! Well, that was a huge mistake. I am not sure if my massage therapist just had an off day or what but the entire visit was a major let down for me. I really had hoped to find someone who was skilled in cranial sacral work and booked out 30 minutes for that specifically in addition to my 2 hour massage . Well I don't know what her idea of cranial sacral work is but we clearly were not on the same page. In fact, I was ready to leave in the first 30 minutes. The room was cold and she had fans on; no check ins to see if pressure was ok, and no mention of use of the sauna either. I will say , the facility is very nice and welcoming but once the service began things went downhill. Yes, I should have just cut my losses and left but I did not. I also was NOT using Groupon. I was paying full price ! As you can see from my reminder, I was booked for some good stuff. My service was done and I was in my car before 1:30! And that was after the "complimentary foot soak! I don't think I got what I paid for honestly. I know she put some peppermint oil in my hair but not conditioner for sure. It took a few washes to remove whatever it was. I hate giving bad reviews but honestly this was a total waste of my money. The massage was the lightest pressure I have ever had and I asked for medium to heavy. Beautifully Decorated, Spectacularly Comfortable, Exceptional Massage, Reasonably Priced

I want to start off my saying that I'm really bummed to be writing a bad review. Courtney is an angel on earth who has (in my opinion) found her calling as a massage therapist. I've been visiting the body spa for a few years now and have exclusively worked with Courtney though I have no doubt the other massage therapists are talented. She is the sweetest person and is so mindful about making me feel comfortable. From temperature of the room, to music, pressure - no detail is overlooked. That being said, my recent issues have been on the scheduling side of things. Several times now over the course of a year I've had my appt scheduled incorrectly for either duration, day, or time. Things happen, maybe they were using a new scheduling software, life went on. There was even one time my appt was switched with someone who has the same name as me and the appt ended up being canceled without my knowledge until I walked in that day. To their credit, body spa did their best to make right on the matter and gave me a discount and a peppermint scalp massage. I understand that things happen and that it's no good to dwell on mistakes when rectification has been enacted. After my last appt in April, there was no receptionist available so Courtney had to be responsible for booking the next appt. She mentioned I had one booked on May 17th and I said that won't work and to move it to the next week. The 17th wouldn't work because I knew I had guests in town for my birthday and had to work extra hours. This is an important detail for later. She moved it to the 24th and that was that. Whether she canceled the appt on the 17th is somewhat not relevant as there should have been someone there whose job it is to schedule these things. Fast forward to this week, I got a text on Monday saying I had an appt on the 17th. Thinking I had the wrong date in mind I confirmed and thought I would call them to resolve it or see what happened. As mentioned prior, I was driving guests around and had been working longer hours so I wasn't able to call and reschedule while they were open even though I knew I moved the appt a month prior. I had a few minutes to breathe on the 17th and called them asking about it. Brittany answered and confirmed that I had an appt on the 24th and told me not to worry about the 17th. I go back to work where I can't check my phone. I got a call and a voicemail from Veronica an hour later saying that since I confirmed the appt I was still liable for paying for it. I worked late that day so I wasn't able to check my phone until after the appt was over. I got no other call or notice after her voicemail. I obviously missed it and felt awful so I called back and Brittany answered and said she'd let Veronica know so they can work something out and said sorry for the confusion (although it was not Brittany's fault). Today, I finally got to talk to Veronica who then lectured me about making the appt and failing to cancel it then tried to make me feel bad for Courtney not getting paid. Like I said, I'd been coming here for a few years and haven't had issues until recently. I let her finish and acknowledged that yes, from her perspective it looks like I'm in the wrong. I started to explain my side of the story when I got interrupted several times. The phone call ended tersely with me having cancelled my appt on the 24th. I'm sure I'm still seen as the one at fault and it breaks my heart that I've been so disrespected and my relationship with body spa has been compromised so quickly. Courtney, if you're reading this I'm really sorry about all this. I do not think you did anything wrong and will miss you :( I sincerely regret the impact this snafu has made and hope you have no further involvement with this drama. read more

A few weeks ago I had the most amazing facial from Emalee! I've had a couple of facials from her and they are always a treat. The most recent one was soooo relaxing and she incorporated gentle massage into her techniques which (given the week I'd had) was so very appreciated. Honestly, I can feel my muscle relaxing as I type this, just remembering how relaxing it was. I have had facials from numerous aestheticians over the years at Body Spa and they were all lovely. This spa is such a hidden gem! I went today for my birthday and bought the take care of me package. It included a 60 min massage and a 30 min facial. My masseuse was amazing and had the perfect pressure. The room was very clean and calm. After the massage, I was then led to another room where i received my facial. This room was bright and had an area full of face products that the esthetician would be using. My facial was amazing! She cleared out all my blackheads and used several products which moisturized and exfoliated my skin. Afterwards I was led to a little sauna area to relax with some treats and tea. I had an amazing experience at the Body Spa. The location is tucked away in a business complex and shares a space with a salon. The waiting room was warm and welcoming and the receptionist offered me a hot tea. I had booked a 60-minute deep tissue massage (which I had a groupon for) and my masseuse was Lisa. Lisa was wonderful and worked out all of my knots. After the massage, their was a tray of tea and snacks waiting for me in the back lounge area. There was also a small dry sauna, which I could use. It held about 4-5 people comfortably and was such a nice bonus to the spa experience. I can't wait to make another appointment and return. So I have a membership where it is 75$ a month for one massage or one facial a month. Last month my massage got cancelled because the power went out. That's fine because normally they would give me two massages the next month to make up for it because they could not get me in before my membership renewed. I went in for my massage today and asked about getting my second massage and they said I was "out for the count". Basically saying they do not do that anymore. So basically they stole 75$ from me. Just made it to a 3 star! But I would like to go over the pros and cons of my visit that happened few days ago. Pros: - small, cozy place - receptionist was nice in the beginning - products smelled good - bed in the room was cozy Cons: - the facial included extractions, which include blackheads. The facial didn't help with blackheads much - technology-based equipment was too fancy and didn't feel like it helped much - so small and hard to find - MAIN CON: my lady (Emily ) was too rushed. Didn't make a personal connection. Wasn't explaining the products until I asked EVERY single time. The little massage wi the facial wasn't so great. She never smiled or showed any positive vibe. She didn't look suited for the job either. Had unprofessional clothing. The only thing I regretted after the service was tipping her. Must look for another facial service. I didn't want to write this because I didn't want to have trouble booking an appointment. But it's my duty as a loyal Yelper to tell you guys about this place. I've had two services done here- a couples' massage and a European facial. While you're waiting for your service to begin, they give you tea. +100 points Couples' massage: I can't recall the rate but whatever it was for two people to get a massage it was a steal. My husband is quite muscular and I've tried to rub his back before but my hands aren't strong enough. I think to him my massages feel like a fly is hitting him, but I digress. We both loved our massages. They had two rooms separately by a partition, which they opened so we were side by side. It was fun to look over at my husband and see him comfortable and borderline asleep. He's a great guy- he deserves the break. European facial: OMG- best facial ever. It was so thorough- it had at least a billion steps. If you've had extractions elsewhere you'll know that they can be painful and invasive. When Cindy went to work on my face today, she said she would extract. I kept waiting for it to happen, so when the facial was over I asked her when she did it. They have some sort of vibrating machine wand magic that actually performs the extractions without the use of The Loop, The Light and The Q Tips. It was painless and effective and nothing like any other extractions I had had. They use the Hungarian skin care line Eminence which is made from herbs and botanicals that are picked by hand, grown in great/fertile soil in which crops have been rotated appropriately. It's good stuff. Cindy loves working there and had nice things to say about the owner, Sonya. She was also wonderful and had such a lovely personality. After the service, you get a little bowl of nuts, some chocolate and some more tea. I stole my husband's so I got four cups! They give you a robe and invite you to relax in their lounge. There's also a dry sauna and some coloring books. +1020293 points If you get sweaty from the sauna, there's a shower in the bathroom and a waterfall to accompany you. The bathroom is beautiful and private. They will offer you products (after asking you if you're even interested- you ladies know why this is so monumental) and there is literally no obligation to buy them. It's a really small space but they've maximized it nicely. Everyone is nice- from the front desk staff to the aestheticians and therapists. You will leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and important. I went here on my birthday, a gift from the husband... Staff was very nice and helpful...BUT the massage was just OK. I went for a hot stone massage, and it was not what I expected. I was thinking they would be using real hot stones (it was my first one) but they just massaged me with some electric hand attachments that was supposed to mimic hot stones. I could have just gotten a regular swedish massage for a lower price and would have liked it. Totally NOT what I expected from a hot stone massage, DO NOT GO HERE FOR THOSE! So my massage was not up to par, and the facility is just not high end, or anything like that. HOWEVER for it's price point. (when using a GROUPON) it was pretty great if you can't afford a more experienced massage therapist. My massage was pretty good. The time was quick, and there is no hydrotherapy or anything like that. If you are looking for a place for a decent price, I'd recommend coming here. But, If you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience I'd go to The Gated Sanctuary in Snohomish/lake Stevens area. It is the best experience from a Spa I've had in my entire life. read more
