She was friendly, gentle & knowledgeable about the facial I had booked. The spa was very well decorated, furnished, smelled pleasant & had a low volume, relaxing music going. I've been to this spa many times over the years & recently noticed the skin & hair care products. Upon checking in you get a private locker to put your belongings. Then you can go into the bathroom to change into a soft robe with slippers, which were clean & smelled really refreshing. Next, you can sit in the waiting area until your masseuse comes to escort you to the massage room. It was relaxing white noise playing with dim lighting. Megan did a great job on my deep tissue massage. She wasn't too rough & let me chill while asking if I needed anything. I was given a complimentary mimosa afterwards, which I drank in the dry sauna. As a mom of two toddlers, it was the decompression I needed to feel so refreshed for the rest of the week! Definitely recommend as a Valentine's Day gift.

Large clean location! Friendly staff with a good amount of equipment. I haven't been to a gym in…read moreover 20 years so I don't have nothing to compare it to. The only downside is that I haven't been able to book any classes because I was told there is no instructor at this time. The parking lot may seem crowded at times but I've always been able to use whatever equipment I needed and find a space to workout. My daughter joined the free teen summer program and is really enjoying it. I signed up for the Black card and am satisfied with the price and amenities.

Since then another fitness club (Crunch) opened up in the Hammond Aire shopping center, and I needed to rejoin a gym to get my health back in order. Visited both gyms, pricing for both basic and extended services very similar. The new Planet Fitness location was spotlessly clean (especially the bathroom and shower area) & the equipment looked fairly new. I was familiar with most of the machines, but was pleased to see that the massage chairs had been upgraded and now not only massages your back and legs but ALSO your shoulders and lower arms/hands...very nice. They also added a 'Relax Pod' machine which personally I enjoy at the end of each visit. You lay down, similar to the hydro massage bed at a slight incline. There's a huge screen in front of you where you select choice of visual stimuli. I usually choose an aerial (drone?) tour of exotic places like the Scotland Highlands or tropical islands. The pod plays relaxing music during the video, you can heat the platform as well as adding scent to the air. I find it very relaxing. As for Crunch Fitness, I found their facility interesting in that they had a room where they schedule group exercise classes (mostly very early in the morning and in the evening when people are getting off of work), have a dedicated Spin room, and have a dry sauna in the ladies restroom. I LOVE a sauna, but my fitness level right now would not really benefit from group classes since I would not be able to participate fully at the moment. This gym might be one I would switch to at a later date as my physical fitness improves...time will tell. I found that the Crunch Fitness gym was NOT as clean as Planet Fitness and much more crowded with a LOT more young people. I was visiting both on a weekday before people were off of work. So comparing the crowds and attendance seemed very strikingly different. Although there was no spin or group exercise class on-going at Crunch Fitness when I was there, there were a lot of young people working out throughout the gym. Planet Fitness was a more relaxed atmosphere, in part because their attendance on that day when I first visited was on the light side. Both facilities had tanning booths if you're into that, I am not. Planet Fitness however also had the red light machine which I've not tried since rejoining but used previously and enjoyed. I don't believe Crunch Fitness had massage chairs which I also like to utilize at the end of every visit. Overall for my needs at the moment Planet Fitness was a better fit, but I have to say the dry sauna and group classes did lead me to at least consider Crunch Fitness. It's all a matter of what you're looking for I suppose. So far, my visits to Planet Fitness have been very pleasant with the staff being accommodating my needs. Just wish they would do something with the parking lot. Lots of holes and needs repair or new blacktop.

GymFit buying and renovating Foxy's has been the best thing since sliced bread. Seriously. I've…read morebeen a Foxy's member for over 6 years now, and the running joke has been that they've done little if any maintenance to the building in years. Sure enough, GymFit takes over, and immediately improvements begin. Fresh coats of paint on the walls, locker rooms renovated and beautiful now, cleaner pools, and new amenities such as a sand volleyball court. Besides all these amazing improvements, here's what I've always loved about Foxy's/now GymFit. #1 The women's locker room. To me, it's built for a perfect spa day. My favorite trio: sauna, steam room, and hot tub. I love to do all 3 and just soak up the relaxation. There's also showers, lockers, and other standard locker room stuff. The classes! Centergy/Flow has always been my #1 go to favorite class. Taryn is a fabulous instructor, and the music always motivates me and has me singing. GymFit has added so many fun, new classess I can hardly keep up. Salsa, AcroYoga, specialty dance classes, etc. Definitely something for everyone! I typically go at night, and the check-in ladies have always been friendly and helpful. I've used the nursery, and my daughters have always enjoyed it. Overall, gym clientele have always been friendly, so I've made some great connections over the years. Way more I could brag about, but I'll instead encourage you to go check GymFit out yourself.

GymFit is probably the biggest gym in Louisiana! They recently took over what used to be Foxy's…read moreFitness. They made an ordinary, lackluster gym to something extremely extravagant! In the recent months, they re-did a lot of the interior and so many improvements were made. It's now a multi-functional gym that offers many of their original classes + have added the cirque, acrobatics, bootcamp and ninja warrior aspect of it. It's a pretty incredible place. They hosted kids summer camp over the summer (during COVID), while enforcing mask wearing, etc. My family & I have been part of GymFit, since their beginnings at their old location and that was already super fun, so now I am excited about 10x more fun with probably 10x more of the space they now have. The owners are always thinking of awesome ways to make the gym a better experience for all that walk through their doors. Their performance group, Bayou Cirque, puts on electrifying performances in their outdoor area from time to time. Their outdoor area has 2 pools (larger swimming pool and a kids wading pool) + a sand volleyball court. The inside also has large lap pool. It truly is a neat place! If you want to check it out, you must! You'll also see the GymFit team at various outdoor events around the city with their kids ninja warrior course. Thanks for all you've provided to the community, Gymfit!
