I asked if there were any available appointments for this afternoon and the person who answered said yes and I could head down when I was ready. I got there within 15 minutes and was paired with Coco. Coco was kind and helpful and I really enjoyed her style of massage and ended up extending my services and adding a 1 hr Swedish massage. They told me that it's been too long since it was purchased which is BS because nowhere on the certificate does it say it expires and it's actually not even legal for gift certificates to expire. Connie who massaged me was very nice, and she was EXTREMELY good at what she was doing. She was an older short lady, I expected a light pressure massage, but man was I wrong, she had strong fingers! I came in here about a week and a half ago after class because I have a lot of knots in my upper trap area and I have very bad forward head posture from sitting in a desk all day every day... and when I tell you, I was very amazed with my massage therapist, because she had such strong hands the entire session. I came in for a hour massage and I felt amazing after. I even gifted my friend a massage bc this was such a great experience. Some of the pros are they are open very late, she used the entire hour (not 2 or 3 min early literally from placing hands on me till the end) and the facility is extremely clean. Very happy with the business. Thank you!! I wish I got her name but I was just so tired and sleepy I paid tipped and left. Paid $60 for a prenatal massage and got a 60 min light rub instead. I am pregnant - my feet ache, I have pregnancy-related sciatica, my back hurts from carrying the baby, I need actual massage therapy work done. I asked the therapist multiple times to massage harder and she would for 1-2 minutes, then go back to softly massaging. Complained to the front desk at the end of my massage and she explained that it's because it's a prenatal massage, they must go soft. They gave me a $10 voucher for next time.... IF you want the following (come here): -your time wasted -your appointment not to be honored -no one to to let you know your masseus had a schedule change (despite the specific request) -no one at the front desk who can speak English -the sauna to be off and staff struggling to turn it on -staff ignoring you mid-sentence to help someone else -staff lying about contacting you I wish this wasn't true. This all happened Sunday 2/25 afternoon. I had a 2pm Sauna scheduled followed by a massage with my go-to masseuse. This was AFTER my last appointment the previous week had to be cancelled after I arrived because the front desk had double booked the sauna and it would be an hour until my masseuse became available. Judy had assured me that my appointment would be rescheduled correctly( although I had a txt confirmation for my 2pm sauna, they did not have it on their desktop schedule) and not double booked. They offered a discount for the inconvenience to be applied to the following Sunday's appointment. Sunday, 2/25, I called all three numbers for the spa to let them know I was running 5 min late. Guess what? No one picked up and a message couldn't be left. I walk in 2:05pm, no one at the front desk. There was an Asian woman ( no name tag) who looked at me while I waited for someone. This same woman walks in front of me pointing at the price list. "I have a 2pm appointment" I let her know. She mumbles and types into her phone and holds up an English translator app to my face pointing at it to talk. Not good. "I have an appointment" she leads me to a massage room. "No, I have a sauna first" I say, pointing to the sauna room. We walk into the room. The sauna is off. She steps inside with her shoes trying to turn it on. She doesn't know how. I take a seat and wait. She walks out, back in and tries to turn it on. She makes a sit-down gesture and calls out loud to someone, another woman. She receives a response looks at me then walks out. At this point, I'm waiting for the other woman to come in. Then, I hear two English speaking women talking in the front. Great! They keep talking and talking. I walk over to the front desk, the first Asian woman is not around. A client and someone at the front desk are having a conversation. The Asian woman walks up, doesn't say anything and stands there. Another Asian woman comes up. The two asian woman speak to each other. The newcomer asks me what's wrong. Okay..I explain the 2pm appt, then 3pm massage I have. At this point it is about 230. The second woman says the sauna needs about 10 min to heat up, and that I can get my massage first. Get this, my masseuse isn't available. Don't worry we'll have someone else available. Remember, there was a note on the schedule about this?? I requested this masseuse that's why I made an appointment. Oh, there was a change in their availability. "No one called or sent a message through the email appointment confirmation system" Oh, I'm sure we did! "No, you did not" In summary, Avoid this place Second time management has changed and it's for the worst read more

Based on my first experience here, I'd give this place 4.5 stars. Staff is very polite and professional. I called and was lucky enough to get a same-day appointment. I decided on the Vitamin C firming facial. I can't recall the aesthetician's name, but she was very nice and explained what she was doing in each step. She did extractions, did a glycolic acid serum, and a couple of scrubs. The upper body massage was great as well. At some point I dozed off because it was so relaxing! She put on a light spf at the end and gave me light head massage. My skin now feels very smooth! Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would consider other treatments as well. I was also able to get $10 off with the Yelp deal since it was my first time there. My only question/concern is that my facial was about 60min or shorter (I arrived at 3:44pm and spent a couple of minutes filling out a short questionnaire before starting. I was done and out the door at 4:48pm.), but their brochure and website pricing states that the Vitamin C firming facial is 75min for $85. I'm just wondering why mine was a little shorter. read more

I just realized that I hadn't updated my review of Body Essentials since 2011. Since my last review, I've switched massage therapists. For the past couple years, I've been going to Joyce, whom my mom sees as well. I always have complaints of various aches and pains from the different activities I do. I can be very hard on my body and massages are crucial to give me a solid "reset". Joyce is very friendly, personable and more importantly, well-versed in making your aches, pains and stresses go away. Unlike most, I don't ever really fall asleep during my massages. Don't get me wrong, she can be lighthanded enough to send you off into a sweet slumber, but whenever I see her, we always pick up our conversations where we last left off. She is very good at applying just the right amount of pressure to where you feel relieved after your session. After a few visits, she'll be aware of how your body responds to certain things and adjust as needed. I love my visits here and time permitting, have her save a 2 hour block of massage time. Best ever! She also does facial massages for those of you interested in those services. My only gripe is the management. For various reasons, I've sent email(s), mind you that's plural, to their manager without receiving a response at all. There was one time I had requested via email to suspend my account because I had accumulated too many massages and needd to use them all. I did not get a response from him until I literally walked in for a massage appointment and he just so happened to be in that day. I found that very troubling. read more

I went to Body Essentials Spa the other day because my normal esthetician that does waxing was on vacation. Body Essentials... Why didn't I go to you earlier? I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of service I received at Body Essentials. The front desk staff was very friendly and professional. I was immediately greeted and felt welcomed. The front lobby is very relaxing and you are instantly whisked away to a happy place. Cecily did my eyebrow wax and really did a thorough quality job. I was happy because my eyebrows were perfectly shaped. She really took her time and made me relaxed. After the waxing, we were discussing my need for a facial. She was able to do a facial right after the waxing. She explained the complete process to me and had a great touch. She used quality products and left me looking radiant.
