The location is perfect, in the heart of Shoreditch, and the walk through the lively and historic Brick Lane neighborhood is a delight before or after your treatment. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed into a calm, stylish space where water and tea are offered, and only whispering voices are heard. The atmosphere immediately puts you at ease. Whether you want a social manicure or pedicure in one of the relaxing armchairs on the ground floor, complete with an entertainment tablet and even a glass of bubbly, or you prefer peace and tranquillity with a facial or massage in the quiet treatment rooms downstairs, the Shoreditch Spa caters beautifully to both experiences. I have personally enjoyed several treatments here, and I highly recommend requesting Myriam or Timandra. Timandra provided me with a manicure and pedicure using the electric foot file, and the results were flawless--my hands and feet felt renewed, cared for, and polished to perfection. On another visit, Myriam delivered an exceptional Swedish massage. She worked with precision and great depth, easing a stubborn knot in my right shoulder. As someone with double knee and hip replacements, and scar tissue, I was impressed by how attentive and on target she was, tailoring the massage to my exact needs while still ensuring full relaxation. The spa offers a wide range of treatments for both men and women, using only high-quality products such as Dermalogica, Aromatherapy Associates, and OPI. They are also proud to offer the HydraFacial experience, ensuring there is something for everyone, whether your goal is relaxation, rejuvenation, or results-driven skincare. The therapists are true professionals, trained to the highest standards, and they take the time to provide personalised treatments that feel indulgent and restorative. Pricing is in line with other quality London spas, and for the level of service and expertise you receive, it represents excellent value. The building itself is stylish and welcoming, and every detail--from booking to treatment to leaving--flows smoothly and professionally. The Shoreditch Spa is more than just a place to pamper yourself; it is a sanctuary in the heart of East London. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Book your appointment today, and when you do, ask for Myriam or Timandra to ensure an extraordinary experience.

Recently, she was away and Yadilene did my facial and I also fell in love with her! Her massage basically sent me to sleep as did my pedicure (I was clearly exhausted already) so I left feeling the most relaxed I've felt in months! I also really appreciate Yadilene educating me a bit about what I need for my skin. They're all such a lovely bunch, even the receptionist Maricela! Highly recommend the spa, but especially Danute & Yadilene. Thank you ladies!

I'm off on holiday as of......NOW…read more But before I skedaddled in search of sun, surf and sand...I needed to get some things in order. High in the rankings was "WHOA, get a spray tan." I'm secretly really obsessed with spray tans, I blame my pale lineage and desire to be a person that absorbs sun, instead of being blistered by it. Pale people want to look tan, too. And for us, there are spray tans. And if you find yourself in East London, the spray tan of your dreams lives at Tao Hair & Beauty. A tastefully low key salon just off Great Eastern Street, Tao Hair & Beauty doesn't look like much from the outside. However, as you enter you'll find a very nice shop with friendly staff and great treatments, hardwood floors, super clean surfaces and a variety of options to make you prettier. My kind of place. I can do without the pomp and circumstance that some Shoreditch spas seem to revel in, so Tao is right up my alley and also close to home. Demet was my spray tanner and she was both professional and friendly. This salon uses St. Tropez system which is a good one that looks pretty natural (not orange). The spray tanning area is set up in one of the rooms downstairs and is clean and private. Never spray tanned before? Here are my top tips: Step-by-step guide to airbrush tanning: 1. Make an appointment. 2. Day of or night before: EXFOLIATE. 3. Show up with NO makeup, lotions, deodorant, etc. 4. Go to Tao. 5. Go into room. 6. Strip to your knickers (ok, its a bit personal, get over it). 7. Demet (or other tech) applies airbrush tan, in your selected shade. 8. Dry a bit. 9. Dry a bit more. 10. No exercising or ahem...other sweaty activities for 6-8 hours. Plan accordingly. 11. Shower at least 8 hours later. Bronzer washes off. 12. Beautiful (fake) tan that lasts for a week+ and all of your friends will wonder when you have the time to sunbathe. 13. Remember to moisturize to keep your tan long and strong. 14. Repeat. At 24.99, it's a bargain. I will now look sun-kissed for a week instead of fried to a crisp. Also, no wrinkles! Hasta luego, I'm off to Mexico!

The woman who ruined my hair never apologized and had a rude, offhand and indifferent attitude towards me. I have had my once healthy hair cut really short, my hair is a extremely dry, frizzy mess. To say I am extremely upset is an understatement. Even though I was given my money back and offered conditioning treatments, I feel that nothing can bring my lovely hair back. And to make it worse the hairdresser who ruined my haiwalked about singing and talking to her friend while I sat there devastated. No, no, Yelpers, I was all smiles. I'm sure this salon is open to everyone, but curly hair is where they really shine. Finding a salon that knows their way around curly hair is FANTASTIC because curly hair has it's own particular biological needs. Not only that, but it also varies in character from day to day, depending on the weather, the humidity, whether you washed it recently, its mood... I was so impressed with how much Maya wanted to understand my kind of curl; not just today, but also in general. She had me pull out my phone and troll through facebook to find good hair day and bad hair day pics. "Oh, I can get your hair curlier than that." she tells me when I show her a good hair day pic. And she totally did. This hair cut made me feel like WTF have I been doing with my hair all this time? It was shaped and layered and styled, and felt light and healthy. I also got some solid tips to take home: 1. Shampoo as little as possible - I knowwww but it feels so good when it's clean 2. Moroccan oil to hydrate - on it 3. A light, non-sticky mousse for hold - a welcome addition to the rotation 4. Diffuse dry upside down, or from below while reclined / laying down on the corner of your bed - oh, hello! Maya and I originally disagreed on the air dry vs diffuse dry debate. I'll fully admit that I'm low maintenance (lazy) and usually opt for an air dry, but I ::loved:: the way my curls came out after drying them ~60-70% of the way with a diffuser. I left feeling amazing and all for a reasonable price. I think I paid ~56 quid for top notch service.

Could have used a little bit more cuticle work but overall, she was a skilled manicurist and speedy without compromising the job. I loved that I didn't have to share the polish color wheels with other tables, which meant I could hum and haw over my color choices while she started working. That made the choice so much less stressful and for once, I didn't walk out of a manicure regretting my color choice! After watching Munni thread multiple women's brows, I had her thread and dye mine (£5+7). It was the first time for me so I can't give a comparison review but I can say that it was fast and relatively painless. She was friendly and informative -- I felt like my brows were in safe hands! I am seriously excited about not having to fill in my brows for the next week! Plus, no awful breakouts like when I get them waxed. The only issue I had was that the two nail techs kept sharing the cuticle tools. Maybe it's not regulated in England but in the US, nail salons have to sanitize all tools for every client.

I'm rubbish at remembering to book and what impresses me is every time I come I always manage to get in! Perfect for someone who lurks to be spontaneous. Treatment wise I've only tried the massages and threading. I'm not a massive fan of threading, but they did a good job and were friendly enough. The massages are what keep me coming back. The Thai massage is insane! The therapist really get rid of the knots and if you're suffering with back pain, it's a must! The Chinese massage is pretty good and I recently got cupping at the same time, which really helped with the pain in my neck and pain. If you're nearby, call in and see for yourself!
