The facade kind of beckoned me in, probably because my friend had begged me not to let her go in there when we were planning to meet for coffee nearby. She can't leave there without a bag of stuff, apparently. I laughed. I was laughing less at her having experienced the place. Agne asked me if I needed help, and I wondered if she could show me how to do a cat eye. She said that appointments had to be booked, and I think they were actually closing anyway. I said it didn't matter and admitted that I was only passing time anyway. For some reason, she decided to make an exception and do a quick job on my eyes. It may have been my bedraggled and exhausted countenance, but I'm not complaining! Not only did she do my eyes, she did my whole face. I can't believe how quickly she transformed me, and she taught me some new tricks - like blending liner upwards to create a smoky eye. I kept staring at my reflection wondering how she'd created the impression of sleep and the reversal of a few years. I wanted to bring her home with me! There was no pushiness. I was asked if I'd like to purchase anything and chose the miraculous concealer. I kind of want everything she used, but will try to hold out and get them bit by bit. I am probably going to have to ask people to keep me out of there now too. Amazing what seeing yourself look not crap can do. Take all my money, Agne and Bobbi Brown!

Come here for a free and fabulous make-up lesson!…read more I booked the day before online and opted for the 45 minute 'party' makeup lesson. To be honest I was having quite a busy week and was sitting on the fence as to whether or not to cancel. But at the last minute I decided to treat myself-and I definitely didn't regret it! When I arrived Mario my make-up artist ushered me over to the make-up bench where I was offered some water and we discussed the look I wanted. He was really informative, talking me through each of the products that he used. What's more, he wrote all of the products and colours down on a sheet for me to take home. He actually spent an hour in total doing my makeup, and it looked absolutely amazing! Smokey eyes, flawless skin and subtle nudey lips, which were perfect for my Friday night out. The customer service was fantastic. He was friendly and obviously very talented at what he does. What's more, I was under no obligation to buy any of the products. I recommend this to anyone who is into their makeup and fancies trying out a new look!

I really dont want to share this secret but as Halloween is almost over I think it's now safe. this…read moreshop is huge and great for costume accessories. The ladies who work here really know their stuff and are fully trained make up specialist, so if its a false nose or false lashes, they will almost always sort you out. What's so great about it is the size, there is room to browse even when you are in there with 30 other Halloween wannabes, and they hold more stoke of white face paint and fake blood than anyone else I know. You can also get bargains here if you ask. When you are at the counter, see what alternatives they have for the products you've chosen and they'll give you cheaper options if available. They also have sales on great branded professional make up. It's like play time for adults in here. So now you know for next year and you'll see me rushing past the other idiots who are desperately looking for fake blood on the 31st October in central London.

If you need it they may well stock it - fake lashes, fake blood, fake beards, fake ears, fake noses and fake teeth. Excluding the prosphectic body parts, I'm quite sure (but yet to test) that some of the theatrical makeup they stock could double up and be quite wearable day-to-day. I'm very excited to find they stock glittery gold make up - solid gold when applied thick, and shimmery when rubbed in. Will definitely come back to purchase it for a Ziggy Stardust karaoke night (if I ever organise one) and then will wear it as an eye shadow. I particularly like the brushes, and make up brush holders here. They also stock a huge range of makeup from Illamasqua - normal consumer make up with a theatrical flair - I have seen it described as the 'new MAC'.

This salon is cute and quaint, and easy to get to from Angel Station. It was nice and quiet I was the only one getting my hair cut, so I got all the attention :) the two girls working there were super friendly and we had a nice long chat whilst getting my hair cut. I loved my hair cut, it was exactly what I wanted, nice and simple! Plus their prices are way more affordable than most high street places. They also do teeth whitening here and they do make-up courses and have a training school when they're not open as a hairdressers. I'll definitely be coming back here for my next haircut!

Upon arriving we were informed that there had been an error with the bookings and the class was not being held! This was very disappointing to say the least, I was only over from Australia for a few weeks and left the following week. My friend is pregnant, works full time and has 2 small children . I booked this weeks ago as a birthday present for her . To arrange a convenient time wasn't easy and to make matters worse we both paid £37 each to get the train to Angel from Ashford in Kent. I understand mistakes can be made , I am in the industry myself as a spa and salon manager . But this was highly unprofessional, a waste of time and money. Such a letdown! We weren't the only customers waiting there were two others, the poor girl who was trying to deal with the uncomfortable situation didn't have the makeup artists number and seemed very reluctant if not fearful to call the manager. I had to insist. I spoke to the manager who informed me that she will reimburse the vouchers and our fare due to the inconvenience. since then i have emailed and called 3 times. No response. I am now going through the wowcher resolution center still with no luck. Like i said a letdown , poor customer service a waste of time and money! I would NOT recommend!

I've been a long time patron of this beauty school. Spa services in London are so expensive and so…read morehit-and-miss that I can't stomach paying a ton for them, so the first time I saw the services menu with the really affordable prices on it, I had to give them a try. In the past 3 years or so I've tried a number of the treatments offered, and they've ranged from mediocre to very good. Never excellent, but also never bad. Your treatment is given by a student at the school, who might be anywhere along the time line of her training. At the end of the treatment you are asked to fill out a brief questionnaire about your experience, how you liked it, what you would have had done differently, etc. So you're also contributing to the education of a student, which feels almost like volunteer work. So, for a full body Swedish massage, one full hour, you pay 22 pounds. I haven't seen anything cheaper in town, and I'm a massage enthusiast. And as I said, I've had some really really nice ones, and some just ok ones. Haven't had a pedicure here because they don't have proper pedicure chairs in the facility, and I can soak my feet in a pot of water at home. The manicure is basic and nice, however. They also do a pre-massage infra-red treatment which warms up the muscles so you get more out of your massage. They're also really good about giving you post-treatment advice about future behaviours and products. Oh also had a facial here once that was really nice. Basically it's the best place to go for affordable beauty treatments in central London. And they're always really super nice to you. Only problem is they don't usually take walk-ins, you have to book ahead. But you can book several treatments back to back and treat yourself to a spa day at a ridiculously cheap price. I'm surprised this place isn't booked out months in advance. Oh also I see men in there a lot, which is cool. All are welcome.

You get to meet people from different places, with different talents and techniques and share experience. You can get any Spa treatment you desire here and you won't have to break the bank for it. The procedures are on the most competitive prices in London. Don't hesitate because of the students, I can assure you that most of the people that study here, work more professionally and have more knowledge that the ones at your local salon. Which is great is that you can give tips, recommendations and tell the person that is treating you, how would you like to be treated or what would you like to change. You can basically instruct the students and you'll also be helping them in their future career. I graduated the Advanced Make-up Design, but like I said, you can get any beauty treatment here, not just Make-up. From nail care, pedicure, beauty therapy, massages, facial care and all of these of affordable prices.

To whom it concerns,…read more I've been meaning to write this feedback for awhile. Firstly I want to explain why I cancelled my bridal services for the 19th May. My trial should not of been booked in the time frame it was therefore not allowing me the option if not satisfied to cancel my services and receive a refund, I feel this was very unprofessional of yourselves and potentially done on purpose. The whole point of a trial is to try a few different hair and makeup styles to determine which I like best, not just one option and that's it! No wonder I asked for another trial to be done only to be met with an response of we may not have time. Seeing as I'd paid you upfront before these services had even been done I feel it is so rude to have responded to me the way you had. I decided to cancel my services as my artist Ashley expressed her tiredness at the time of my trial and she'd basically had a long day and clearly wanted to go home. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable about asking for her to try something else style and makeup wise. It's bad enough I didn't enjoy my experience let alone to be then told I'm not entitled to my money back for a service I wasn't even having. Had you booked my trial before the time frame of being able to receive a refund I wouldn't of been in this situation but clearly this was your intention. On the wedding day the artist arrived and bless her was totally inexperienced to do 4 bridesmaids hair. She expressed a few times she hated doing braids which you knew the bridesmaids were all having from the emails and photos sent in. She also told us she'd be practicing alone just before as wasn't confident and was shaking under the pressure! Not something you want to hear or see from your stylist at the time and on a wedding day and totally unfair on the artist. It safe to say I won't be using your services again or recommending you to anyone going forward, I received an unprofessional service all around and very disappointed I only hope no other bride has to experience this. Avenue manages to be both a neighbourhood salon where little old ladies pop in to have their curls set and chat a while, and also produce some lovely contemporary cuts and styles. I usually try to schedule my appointment at least a week in advance, but if I mess up, they're lovely about trying to schedule a last-minute appointment whenever possible. Fu is particularly good with short hair-- I've had problems getting a good pixie cut at some very expensive salons due to my fine hair, but he consistently does an excellent job. And as others have mentioned, the head massage during the shampoo is amazing! This really is a hidden gem-- a reasonably priced, incredibly friendly salon where everyone is welcome, I can't recommend it enough!
