ZERO STARS!! STOLE MY MONEY!! I paid my $2000 for the 1 week course, took a week vacation from work, and they cancelled the course a day before I was scheduled to be there!! No one told me!! I had to find out in a study session. I lost my 1 week vacation and had to wait a year before I could build my vacation time up again! They never apologized or offered me any discounts or refunds!! I asked for a copy of the email they supposedly sent me to let me know the course was cancelled. Of course they could never provide anything. Because they didn't send me anything!! I had to pay an extra $300 every by months until I could take the course again. After paying that charge twice, I had a week of vacation saved up, but then they told me they couldn't give me the 1 week course because they were, "remodeling the campus." They kept charging me though!! Finally, I just refused to keep giving them money!! I'm so stupid to.lwt HODY DESIGN UNIVERSITY keep robbing me. They are nothing but a pyramid scheme!! DO NOT GIVE THESE SCAM ARTISTS ANY OF YOUR MONEY!! They are vultures. I'm a disabled veteran and prior law enforcement. I used my whole savings on this course!! They've offered not so much as an apology. I gave them $3000 before I realized I was just being robbed. They are pirates living off the meager savings of ppl who just want to earn their personal training certificate. I'm a disabled veteran and prior law enforcement. I'm an honest guy just trying to protect other ppl from these rip-off artists. I'm heartbroken. read more

My wife enrolled in Body Design University based on their written materials clearly stating that the certification exam was included with the course. After my wife completed over 100 hours of work for this course, we were informed that the exam is not included and must be paid for separately. The exam is over $600. The marketing material she received specifically said "NASM Certification Include." While trying to resolve this, we also discovered a BBB complaint from 2024 describing the exact same issue -- being provided marketing material stating the exam was included, then later being told it was not. This indicates this is not an isolated misunderstanding and has been ongoing for over a year. We attempted to resolve this professionally through customer service and the BBB, but it was not resolved. BDU refuses to accept responsibility. We are now forced to escalate further. Prospective students should be very careful and make sure all representations are confirmed in writing before enrolling. read more

My wife attended this program and when she was unable to complete the program Patricia King was assigned to her account. Need to say Patricia is very rude and has hung up on us multiple times when we were trying to figure the amount owed and a copy of the finalized bill. instead she have been treated multiple times of being taking to court even though my wife has full paid off the tuition. now if there are late fee etc, we have requested multiple time to get an invoice or bill. read more

Misleading and Remorseless. I had initially wrote a positive review about my experience with this school but there are a few things that need to be said and should know before signing up for the school. 1- they are a business- after completing the first part of their course I was surprised to get the NASM text book which contains ALL plus more information than was in the first book. I felt like "why am I studying the same things over and over??" Not needed unless you have a problem with memory. Super frustrating 2 - after you complete their course and paying them you still have to Pay $500+ to NASM (or ACE) they don't tell you this, and why would they.. because you might not sign up for their course. I would not have if I knew everything I know now. 3- after Passing the NASM test, I was harassed and told I would be charged if I did not send the NASM text book back after being told it was a "option" but not that I'd have to pay if I did not. 4- I'm nearly finished paying of my tuition and have been struggling financially for the last year since I started my Personal trainer journey. When I tell the financial department what day they can take payment specifically (because I just don't have it) they continually harass you. I am utterly disgusted and wish I knew everything I knew know. I would have NEVER fallen into this trap. 5- you can save a lot of money if you just know how to study and that you CAN go directly to NASM or ACE. No need to waste your Time or you Money like I did. read more

This training was really good. The instructors were very knowledgeable, up to speed on the times and very flexible and accommodating to my needs. Better yet, their commitment to being available as a resource afterwards has been amazing and I am so thankful! Would highly recommend for personal trainers looking to get certified. Body Design University is most certainly a game changer. I love the various components of the course especially the LIVE aspect. There is no better way of learning than hands on in person along side other eager students and receiving instruction from two amazing instructors! Their level of professionalism, energy and enthusiasm from beginning to end made the course fun and exciting each day! They are extremely knowledgeable and want you to learn as much as possible. Truly delivering the success tools to mold you into one of the Best Personal Trainers you can be. Not to mention the Body Design University Staff are friendly and eager to help in any way possible. I loved that the course did not only go into the basic biomechanics and nutrition aspects of fitness, but also the key components of becoming a successful business owner and fitreprenuer. (Fitness Entrepreneur). This is not something you can just learn in a text book. They also offer additional training, services and an operating system if this is something you are interested in. (You must take the course to learn more!) The course is also extremely affordable! Whether you want to get certified with NASM or ACE, the course is a way to prepare for both exams in advance. It's a great way to get a jump start on studying for the big exam. The Body Design University Exam is somewhat similar, but obviously you will still need to do some additional studying. Also the course covers the cost of the NASM or ACE book and exam! In regards to difficulty, as long as you study, review and study some more, you will succeed. It all depends on how much effort and work you put into it. I love the style of learning that they use with Quizlet. Makes the quizzes and tests fun and truly prepares you for the big exam. Also the daily quizzes are exciting and interactive. I wish they had this style of learning when I was in school! An additional bonus to the live course is getting to experience the internship where you will get to observe actual personal trainers in action with real clients and learn the day-to-day business structure of a live gym. I learned a lot of new techniques and skills that I will and have began implementing into my personal business and brand. Overall, this course is an absolute MUST INVESTment! You will graduate being more knowledgable, prepared and have increased confidence walking into the real world of personal training. Either working for someone else or yourself! Good Luck in the course! I look forward to reading about your experience! read more

If it let me give ZERO stars, that would be the case. I am in a very bad situation and fighting for my health at every moment. I'm recovering from a severe domestic relationship and a single mom to two under two and I signed up for these courses since fitness has been my passion my entire life and I've always wanted to get into training. I onew this would save my boys and I. I expressed my situation and my family member helped me with providing her card for payments. Her card was closed for fraud and I didn't know this happened therefore I was unable to alert BDU. They charged the card every day for multiple months and then claimed they didn't Want to hound me or harass me, letting me know months later I owed the 98 Monthly payment charged now every day for 3 months straight.. I was waiting on my taxes while living off food stamps and help from everyone I know and they wanted almost every dime I would have recieved. When I offered to pay any amount I could to get started on a plan, they didnt reply. They have been incredibly rude, especially PATRICIA KING who even stated that I had more assets than I was leading on and acted as if she knew my life and situation when their lat asset check was when I enrolled. I have been called and harassed since. One day she's rude, the next she acts as if we didn't speak the day before and nicely asks to talk about the account when she told me the day before she was going to be reporting me for malicious intent to defraud a lender and has theeanted this many diffenent instances. At this point I have told her, I don't have the amount you want. I will pay it back in a payment plan and if you want to send it to collections, I have no choice and will deal with it there and she keeps insisting that I was trying to be unfaithful to the lender. There are better programs out there. I myself enrolled in another program that was faster, reliable and a tenth of the price. Do your reasearch before letting this scam ruin your plans. read more

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE IT IS A SCAM. They will take your money, not respond to calls and requests to cancel. They are only after your money and will not provide a benefit in return for it. I have spent almost 12 months trying to get them to stop billing my credit card and they wont stop. I have changed card numbers, froze my account, and yet they still find ways to bill my card. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM, THEY WILL BILL YOU FOREVER AND PROVIDE NO BENEFIT. read more

If there was a.eay to give 0 stars I would. Beware this is scam. They wi continuously charge your card. Claim it's declined (which in fact it was not you can ask my attorney and personal banker) then hit you with a $45 service charge and at $25 late fee. Then when questioned their "customer service" is a woman that put me on speaker phone while she did her dishes with her child screaming in the back ground. They will threaten you. Beware this is a complete scam. read more

I took the Body Design Course in January this year hoping to gain knowledge to pass my ACE exam my first try. I was super excited about the hands on learning and not just attempting to learn everything through self-teaching and reading the manual. The program was awesome. Doug is a wealth of not just test knowledge but real life info and pretty much anything else we needed to know or wanted to ask about health and fitness. I came in with a lot of info already and with a handful of personal training clients on the books, and was able to learn so much more about biomechanics of the body and techniques to do the same workouts better. He taught me even more about nutrition, too. The best part is that it is such hands-on learning. It's not like school where you sit hearing info pouring in one ear and out the other. Doug is super interactive and captures your attention, making certain that you retain the info he is sharing daily (super important bc we cover a lot of good stuff)! The program filled in some gaps that I was missing in knowledge, taught me a lot of new stuff, and even corrected some things I was doing wrong without realizing it. It was a great use of time and money and a big benefit for my clients as I utilize things I learned daily in my business. Thanks BDU!!!! I passed my first try on the ace and cant wait to take some CE courses as well!! read more

I am an athlete and alternative nutrition student. Fitness and Nutrition have always been my passion, and I was eager to add to my knowledge in a meaningful, practical way. I would encourage anyone who wants to change their and others lives to take advantage of this unique educational experience. It will add to your practice in many ways - not only personally, but also by enriching what you can offer others. The health and fitness information I learned, along with the business skills and the customer service allowed me to start my personal training carer. read more

Pushy salesmen, always have a special "deal" this could have been better. Firstly, this course seemed off from the start. They DO NOT send you the desired book that you have PAID FOR. You must undergo their "modules" and pass an exam at 80%. ACE, the passing rate is 500/800 or 62.5%. If you fail, you will not get your book that you paid for and you must pay to retake the test at a more expensive price than an ACE retake. Of course they scathe by the intricate details of this matter over the phone. Typical salesman! Very shady in my opinion. As for the modules for themselves, they were very average. In fact one may have been useful, as they outline how to sell yourself as a trainer. But for the price I'm paying, I would have been better not signing up. This might be due to the fact that I myself have been training for 8 years now and kept myself up to date with training styles, nutrition and things of that nature. All the information they provide in their modules can be obtained in your personal training book. There is no "help" with test taking skills other than learning your learning style. They have short 5 question quizzes with AN OBVIOUS answer. No effort on increasing your test taking skills AT ALL. You'd be better off going through ACE or NASM directly as they provide more useful tools and studying strategies. To add insult to injury, they promote more programs within BDU before you even get the opportunity to take their test! It's all about the money and sales! Spend your money elsewhere if you plan to obtain your certification. This one is very average and only cares about pushing their business and getting your money. read more

Highly recommend this school! I've been a fitness professional and competitor for 2 years now and have been wanting to get certified as my next step to expound upon my career. I reached out to this school and spoke with Corey and was already impressed. I did the online option since I live in San Diego and traveling was not an option for me at the time. The program taught me so much even with already being a part of he industry for so long. Extremely informative and easy to follow. The online is also self paced so I was able to knock it out fairly quickly. This program isn't just a course filled with information but guidance on how to get started and be successful. This course gave actual "what to do" things versus just general information. Prior to attending Body Design University, I was attempting to become a certified personal trainer through the ACE course online. I was a bit confused on some of the course work and quite overwhelmed with the amount of information to study. I decided to find a class for added study after failing the exam. That was the absolute BEST decision I made for my personal training career!   I have to admit, I was a worried about how to pay for it, but Corey set a payment plan that worked for me. He was totally detailed with how the course worked and gave me all the confidence that I needed to make the decision. He even called and emailed periodically before my start date to answer any questions.  The class was AWESOME! Doug and Corey are experts and do a great job teaching the material. Everything I was confused on with the online ACE course was thoroughly explained.  So after finishing my internship this week with the Body Design trainers, I am confidently going back into my course work knowing I will pass the exam the next time! The things I loved most about the course were learning the details on muscle structure and the nutrition facts. Also, being able to go to the studio and get hands on experience was perfect for me. I am so much more confident that this is the best career choice for me. Because of the team at Body Design, I have tons of ideas and I'm excited about where my life is headed!! Doug and Corey have insurmountable knowledge about the Personal Training industry that is both literature and experience based. They have upheld esteemable reputations in the Personal Training Industry and have countless stories they shared with myself and the rest of the class. They were extremely professional in not only their jargon, but their appearance and overall conduct. They answered all of my questions with patience and confidence, and they practically held my hand through the entire course. They made the course fun and interactive, providing way more than one learning method. The test was challenging, yet not infeasible. Do NOT enroll into this school. Yes the perks SEEM nice however the manager of this facility in the Atlanta area has no compassion for individuals who experience a hardship in their life. I enrolled into this course 04/03/18 with every intention of following this goal, however I recently as of 04/16/2018 experienced a hardship that I will not longer be able to afford the monthly payments for this course. I explained this to him. He informed me there is not a refund policy I told him I do not want a refund & that he could keep the enrollment fee plus my first "month" payment all I wanted was to cancel continuation with the courses since at the moment I would not be able to afford it. He began to go back & forth with me, talking over me and continued to try to hang up the conversation. This was extremely unprofessional and did not make me feel like I mattered at all as a person. This "university" should not be allowed to even call themselves such since at a REAL university when you experience a hardship they give you the option to withdrawal from a course without having to pay that within a certain time frame. BDU ONLY wants your money. Please consider ALL other options before enrolling. Thank you for the disappointing experience & lack of concern for people. All of this within a matter of 2 weeks after enrollment and the manager of the Atlanta facility refuses to cancel the rest of my enrollment. Also, he kept saying "there is a no refund policy no refund policy" but a refund is when you pay back money someone gave to you already, I only gave them $241+$95 I was not asking for what I GAVE them I clearly told him he could keep that all I wanted was to cancel the remaining course. How can you refund someone something they did not give to you yet? Anyway, the manager at the ATLANTA facility is not someone to work with & I would not waste my time or money investing into this course with these type of ppl. read more
