The cabins were very clean. Probably the cleanest of any stay I have had in any resort camping or resort stay. The showers and restrooms on site had the same spotless cleaning. My sister discovered a mama rodent and her babies living directly underneath her bed. Not visiting. Not passing through. Fully moved in. Nursery established. No reservation required. One night was refunded, but the hours of sorting through belongings and doing laundry afterward were apparently part of the complimentary glamping package. Wildlife? Expected. A rodent maternity ward under the bed? Different category. Future glampers: before you unpack, CHECK UNDER THE BED. And maybe check whether your accommodations already have long-term tenants.

GORGEOUS VIEWS. HOT TUB. FRIENDLY OWNERS. HOT TUB. FIRE PIT. GREAT PRICE. HOT TUB…read more Had an opportunity to stay in these cabins last weekend and had a fantastic time. The owners provided fire wood and had recently purchased a hot tub so we were the first ones to use it (yesssss!). We went with a group so half stayed upstairs while we stayed downstairs. The cabins are separated so I was a bit of a drag walking up a hill to visit friends but also nice to keep our privacy. The cabins are far from the main house so we were able to play music without being overly cautious. The only downfall was the driveway up. It consists of those white rocks so you have to rev your engine to go up the hill toward the cabin without getting stuck (which happened to our friend). All in all, this was a great experience and was only a 20 minute drive to Hocking Hills State Park, a must see. Jerry and Wendy are excellent hosts!

The sites are large with beautiful views, and the entire campground is very clean and well kept. The shower rooms are wonderful: private and very clean. Definitely the best showers I have ever seen at a campground. The showers are like hotel showers! There are RV sites, tent sites, and also cabins available. The sites and amenities are much nicer here than the nearby state park campgrounds. It is an easy drive to the state park, to the marina, and also a beach just a mile down the road. It was very quiet at night. A peaceful camping experience. A Walmart is only a mile away, and a great Mexican restaurant is across the street. This is a perfect location and we will definitely stay here the next time we are visiting Hocking Hills. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for a girls weekend - four adults and 3 children under the age of 12. We had a blast!…read moreThe reservation process was simple and easy, the owner's communication was great, and the cabin was very nice. Pros: *The cabin came equipped with everything we needed - towels, washclothes, dish soap, cooking utensils, bedding, etc. *Cabin was clean and smelled great when we arrived. *Plenty of room for our group of 7. *No neighbors - our cabin was on it's own plot of land and the nearest neighbor was at least a mile away. It was quiet and we didn't have to worry about the kids playing outdoors. *Hot tub! We chose this cabin in part because it offered a hot tub and we were not disappointed. Their hot tub was modern and wonderful and we used it every night we were there. *Beds were super comfy and bedding was nice and clean-smelling. *Small water feature in the backyard had live frogs and our children had a blast watching them! *Upstairs and downstairs patio - upstairs patio was directly off the living room and had a sturdy railing going all the way around so the kids could be out there blowing bubbles or playing without our having to worry about them. *Great fire pit. *Grounds were very nice and well-kept. View off the back patio was fantastic! Cons: *No bathroom on main floor. You have to go up or down to use the bathroom. This was an issue for us since we had a 2-year-old in our group that had to be walked to and from the bathroom. *Cabin does show it's age a bit. Overall, the cabin was very nice but it could use some updating. One of the windowsills downstairs was covered in some sort of mold and several of the patio chairs (and a recliner in the living room) were broken or in need of repair. The fridge had a note telling us not to overload with items or it would stop working which seemed a little strange. *The stairs were an issue for us as the stairs leading upstairs were open slat and our little girls were fearful when ascending. The stairs leading downstairs were wide open and we were constantly watching out for the 2-year-old so she wouldn't inadvertently fall down. If you're nearby, check out the following attractions: Hocking Hills Adventures (http://www.hockinghillscanoeing.com/) - we went canoeing there and it was great! If you haven't canoed before, please ask the staff for some pointers. They're personable and friendly! Hocking Hills Market (http://www.hockinghillsmarket.com/) - Fantastic little shopping spot we discovered. Full of fun and funky shops and they have a small miniature golf course for the kids in your group. Pizza Crossing (http://www.pizzacrossing.com/) - Great pizza place suggested by the locals and we weren't disappointed! Just down the street from canoeing so we canoed and then called to order and picked up on our way back to our cabin.

The reason for me giving 3 stars is that the photos posted by the owners are quite deceptive regarding the distance from a busy highway. As you can see from my photos, CO-19 is approximately 30 feet from the cabin. Without the TV on, you can hear constant traffic even with the door closed. Trying to sit on the porch to relax was impossible because the road is so loud. The cabin is basically as pictured on the website, very homey and comfortable, and the other 3 cabins are far enough from Luna's to allow for privacy. We would have definitely had a wonderful, romantic honeymoon weekend if it hadn't been for the constant noise.

Website says no landline phone so bring your cell if you need to have a phone? However there is NO CELL SERVICE AT ALL. No calling at all....not even texting. This was infuriating because some of us have elderly family we have to be able to contact. Your website is very misleading. My father is almost 90 and I really counted on being able to call him when we arrived at Dogwood. Please update your website? If we would have known this we would have stayed elsewhere. One word for the water.....SULFUR. The water was so bad that it ended up turning all our sterling jewelry orange, and that was bad considering we only bathed twice. :O With all the water treatment options available now and with what you had installed downstairs for water treatment it was too bad about our jewelry and the odor. Hope our jewelry can be fixed! No hand towel rings. There are several places to mount a towel holder by the bathroom sink. Also.... no place to set your toiletry supply bag. Hard for the ladies especially. Lack of dinnerware. Only 2 ceramic dinner sized plates and the rest were tin. Really? Dollar Tree has some really nice ceramic plates for $1 each. Light bulb out on ceiling fan and the whole place is dim so you need all the light you can get. Kitchen would REALLY benefit from light strips under the cabinets. No light at all in shower. Could hardly see to bathe! Also need a lighted vent fan in bathroom. No sponge or kitchen dishrag of any kind to hand wash dishes. Need at least a sponge there and more than just one dish towel. The place was nice enough but not $200 a night nice. Honestly.... this was the most expensive cabin we have stayed in and the least nice, and we have stayed in many cabins. Hopefully you will at least consider our comments to make some improvements. And being that we never received any kind of response from several emails to Doug AND to our comments per above when sent to him, wont be staying here ever again.

When we called to inform them, they denied the allegation and furthermore implied that we must have brought them with us and would not do anything about it. The outcome was that we needed a special extermination treatment at a cost of $2000, a new box and matres set of $1500 and had to discard some apparel. along with all the grief, inconvenience and aggravation. We called again to see if their insurance would cover it and it went on def ears. A little google research indicated that Athens Ohio is infested with bed bugs - unbeknown to us at the time but quite sure the locals are aware of it, let along the hospitality inns. My advice is, STAY AWAY FROM THERE!

The hot was broke our entire stay. When we showed up around 7pm, there was a hose in the hot tub overflowing it with freezing cold water. Their negligence to turn the water off before we arrived cause our future issue. We had tried to call the owner but they were closed so we chalked it up to a loss & figured we'd just use it the next night on our last stay. We went hiking all day and came back under the assumption that the water would have heated up, only to find that it was not working at all. Again we tried to call but they were closed. The price point for this cabin is extremely high for a tiny box with no working hot tub. 3. When I was able to get ahold of the owner to ask for a partial refund due to the hot tub being broke - she hung up on me mid sentence and is now ignoring my calls. Extremely unprofessional. You are almost relegated to smaller coves as you try to escape the waves caused by power boats. Not at Lake Hope State Park as boaters are restricted to electric motors only. My wife is all about the well maintained mountain bike trails. We were both all about the small camping pads and many non electric sites. This meant that as tent campers we were not back to back with massive RVs. And our dog was all about all of it, especially since a state park means that he gets to hang out with his pack!  On the down side, there was only one water spigot, one near the check in, that was marked as potable. Perhaps the others throughout the campground are and are not marked. However, we chose to only get water from that spigot. The spigot that was closest to our campsite was way too close to the pit toilet for me to feel comfortable drinking without filtering/boiling.  While we didn't get the chance to actually take our boats off the car, thanks to thunderstorms, we did drive around and find some spots that would work perfectly as put ins. There's a space just off the main road that would work for those who are kayaking, canoeing, or SUPing. The drive to and from LHSP was beautiful, with the visual elevation changes. I loved that it was almost in the HHills area but lacked all the folks (and the restrictions on dogs)! Lake Hope State Park is a place that we will hands down visit again. Although, our first visit there was filled with thunderstorms- we managed to stay dry and camped anyway!
