Great vegan spot. We came early and got a table without a reservation which was cool! Cool atmosphere and witty signs. Schnitzel was eerily realistic!!! Great chili cheese bites and onion rings. Buffalo cauliflower could've been crispier but still good! Beyond burger was "just ok" according to the carnivores in our group but even they LOVED the chili cheese bites and were fooled by the schnitzel! Meal prices are a bit high but sandwich prices and appetizer prices weren't bad at all

We ventured to this spot from our hotel on foot in search of vegan! We met Mo the server and he was amazing! There was SO much good food and selection as well as full bar. We tried the jackfruit and seitan burgers and they were both delish! The desert is a must (can't remember the name but it is the pancake one). It was out of this world! Mo was a very gracious host and we felt so welcome for the first time in Germany. This place is a must stop for quick drink or full on vegan feast! So glad we stopped in.

Keesspatzn!

Comfort food! Walking through the area, stumbled on this place. Trendy spot. Busy on a summer night, but able to get a seat at the bar without a wait. Enjoyed the veganized version of german classics - we ordered a few plates to share including the Keesspatzn and schnitzel. Had the Apfelkuchen for dessert (yummm).

Bodhi is by far one of my favorite restaurants ever! My favorite dish from there is the jackfruit burger and I can't resist the cauliflower wings. I've gone there often with my non-vegan friends who also think the food is delicious (and they can barely tell it's all vegan). The staff is also very friendly. I absolutely love it!

Bruschetta and the "Käs"spatzn
Mina W.

Had an amazing late night snack here last week. Since we already had dinner before we got an appy and a main to share. Tried the Bruschetta that came with 3 different topping. You get six slices of bread: two with avocado, two with tomato/basil (and garlic) and two with mushrooms/herbs topping. They all tasted amazing! It also came with a side salad. Not a bad deal for 6,50 €. As a main we picked the "Käs"spatzn. A traditional German dish. Egg noodles with cheese. It was the first time I got to try a vegan version. It's amazing what you can do these days! Heavy but soo cheeeesy! Came with rosted onions and a side salad for 11 €. Our waitress was super friendly and very attentive. We sat outside but the inside looked very nice and cosy. So I guess we gotta come back with empty stomaches!!

Schnitzel, and the schnitzel burger with the side of coleslaw

Best vegan food I have ever tried! Amazing food, amazing drinks and amazing staff! Location is so nice and calm too! But the food is out of this world! The fried calamari left me speechless!

Delicious seitangoulash with pretzel dumplings

I've been to a lot of vegan/vegetarian places all over the world but I have to admit that Bodhi in Munich is one of the best places you can go to have a delicious vegan meal. Bodhi is located at Schwanthalerhöhe near to the Theresienwiese where Oktoberfest is celebrated each year. Due to its location in a quite calm street you can sit outside away from the traffic and enjoy the sunshine. The staff is very friendly and fast and the food: You'll hardly find any better! I've been there several times now - almost each time I'm in Munich for work and each time it was just great. Friendly service, vegan food and everything sooooo delicious. Not only the seitangoulash with pretzel dumplings (best I ever had!) also the salads and soja schnitzels or the desserts are so delicious. HIGHLY recommendable, doesn't matter if at lunch-time or in the evening and you won't regret anything ;) If visiting in the evening I would recommend a reservation.

Amazing vegan food, great variety in taste, situated on a quiet road to enjoy your food inside or outside. The dish "Bodhi Pfanderl" is my favourite so far.

AMAZING!

Vegan food without compromising on flavor. Decent prices and service was good by European standards.

Service is friendly and helpful. Also appreciated there were gender neutral bathrooms. The drinks were great - nice to go somewhere with a diverse non alcoholic menu. I had an NA beer and my spouse had a strawberry matcha latte - I was definitely jealous of her drink as it was beautifully presented and well prepared. Food was also very good. We went all out - got a cashew cheese starter, schnitzel, a bowl, and ice cream for dessert. The schnitzel was a standout - my spouse doesn't eat meat but really wanted to try schnitzel - I do and think this one was better seasoned and prepared than the meat ones I had. My bowl was hearty and flavorful - especially liked the peanut sauce. And we loved that we could choose three flavors for the ice cream! Would definitely go back.

California done better than California itself - in the heart of Munich. Visiting Munich - seeing…read morethis place as a breakfast choice was fun - and honestly I wasn't initially enamored as I expect something like this to be a caricature of the real thing maybe. But the menu felt unique and interesting enough to visit. I got the Apple Almond Affair - stacks of pancakes, roasted apples and almonds - interlaced with vanilla cream, whipped cream and a side of vanilla ice cream. The Palm Beach - a coconut infused chia pudding with fruit. And - the Hermosa Beach - hash browns topped with mushrooms, onions, egg, bacon and cheese. Additionally - coffee! I was very satisfied with all the flavors - as I mentioned - better than California actually offers. The apple pancake dish was decadent but not over the top intensely rich as one may expect it to be. The hash brown dish was super flavorful and pleasantly presented, with fried eggs perfectly adorning the stack. And the chia pudding was also delicious (covered in bananas - which I removed for myself but were eaten by my companion). Currents and other fruit was atop this dish - a lovely flavorful pudding. Service was outstanding, welcoming. Seating - busy morning but no real wait. Cash only on this day due to network issues but that was ok. Just a very inviting space with lovely people and uniquely outstanding food. Must visit in Munich no matter where you are from!

It's very interesting/confusing to see other Californians review this place AND say that it is authentic to their experience going to a diner back home. Our table ordered omelettes with toast, OJ, and coffee. While the latter were fine, I take issue with the main dish. Every diner I've been to back home has Heinz ketchup and perhaps a hot sauce like Tabasco or Cholula. Every other table in sight also lacked these items, which definitely made my meal less enjoyable. We need seasoning beyond salt and pepper if we are going to call this place California-inspired. Service-wise....it's Germany, not California. Leave your expectations for cheerful and attentive service back home. It ain't happening here. Lastly, cash only? Even cash only joints here tend to post a sign somewhere to alert you in case you don't know. We found ourselves scrambling due to this policy. Ambiance and decor was boring and I have definitely seen something like this in California. SKIP California bean (unless you're in a bind like we were)

The menu is small but there is no way you could easily get tired of it. We had the hummus falafel platter as a shared starter on both our visits. The fresh sprouts on top give it that amazing crunchy and fibrous texture. You have to try it. My only wish is for it to come with more than the two pieces of bread. For mains, I tried the watermelon steak, and wow, I had had nothing like it before. It was thick, juicy, and red! The accompanying sauces and spices were amazing. Why do people even eat real animals anymore?! The drink selection is sparse, but I enjoyed the hot ginger drink. They do have nice wines and beers. Water seems to be a paid option. He desserts are the signature menu item. I was told that the cheesecake is made fresh every day, although the flavors are kept a surprise. One time I had something with peanut butter and the other time a more plain one. Try to get a table outside. It really captures the essence of dining in one of Munich's youngest areas. I would love to go back on my next Munich trip!

A small tip: this is not just a cafe or a restaurant, this is a community of raw food fans and of nice people that build up their connections and support each other, meet each other very often and organize diverse events or seminars around the Cafe, just ask about their community as well when you will enjoy your time in the Cafe! I was lucky to meet the inspiring founders of Cafe Gratitude in August at a raw food workshop and from what I know, they planned to come back soon, it's a workshop worth attending for all those interested in joining the Cafe Gratitude community. Back in August, Cafe Gratitude Munich was just in plan, now it's a very nice reality and it's one of the places where I could stay all day long, it's part of my favourite cosy homey places in Munich. I recommend it to everyone, whether you are vegetarian or you are not so much into veggies, just try a few raw food dishes and then you will realize that eating raw is much more tastier than expected when it's properly prepared like it is in Cafe Gratitude and it's giving a boost to your energy too! :) I've added already photos of the delicious healthy food that I've got there, more to come from my next visit there! :) And after you will visit Cafe Gratitude, don't forget to let us know here on Yelp "What are you grateful for?" ;))

I was jealous... ...from the moment I walked in. If I had this cafe below me, I'd be a happy camper (and perhaps a little rounder). Cafe Ruffini has two parts: it's split into a "take away" portion where you can point at a window and take cafe eats with you if you're on the go. OR you can grab a seat inside. I was here midday and it was packed! We had to wait around for a little bit. There was something for everyone whether you were sitting for a cappuccino & a cake or there for a whole meal. Upon entering, you'll see an enticing case of pastries. As a non-German speaker/ tourist, I was pretty reluctant to ask, but there was charming man, that spoke enough english to help me with my curious sweet tooth. I picked the walnut cake (see pic). It seemed like the popular thing. By the last bites of it, I saw 2-3 others had ordered the same. If you want to spruce up your normal coffee routine, get the amaretto latte. It's a bit sweet, but a treat to top off a meal along with that walnut cake. Ok...I think I've just convinced myself that I need to go back soon. Walnut cake + amaretto latte. One more thing, I think they screen films there at night and/or have live music too. This might be another excuse to go back. They have an extensive wine list available online. Too bad my friend moved back to Los Angeles. :(

Good wine selection and good food (organic if you care), in the summertime the rooftop terrace is usually open (self-service though, but very nice for sundowns or breakfast). Often quite full, especially on weekends - if you want to come with 4+ people better to reserve a table. Be aware though, that the many good reviews received by this place not necessarily mean that this is a perfect cafe. If you see it from the outside or take a quick first impression look inside you may wonder if this is the right place - I think the reviews just show that people like to hang out here, the atmosphere is nice despite the dated interior. :-)
