Though the office is home to three medical doctors, I have only been seen by Dr. Michelle Evans and I have been very happy with her approach to working with me and with the ways that she has proposed to treat my recent bout of migraine headaches. Now, when it comes to scheduling appointments I am a little old-fashioned and I generally will do whatever I have to do to speak with a live person to set something up. However, this does not seem possible with Buckhead Internal Medicine and when it came time to schedule a physical and then to go in seeking medical treatment I have had to use their email-driven system of scheduling or to call the answering machine there and leave a detailed message regarding the nature of my request. I will admit, they make this system efficient and it works quickly and accurately; I need to get over my worn-out methods. They have always been super-prompt in responding to me and have worked with me very well to fit appointments into my somewhat hectic schedule. I really like Dr. Evans at BIM because she, as well as her assistants and colleagues, is very personable and thorough and neither over-treats or explores avenues that are just unlikely, expensive and unnecessary. In the past, numerous physicians have put me through extensive testing and a gauntlet of procedures that have provided nothing in the end. Today I was pleased to receive a shot and a small prescription that should nip what is most likely ailing me early on so that I can back in working order almost instantly. In addition, parking is always available, though for a fee, and the fact that they are located on the Piedmont Hospital campus allows them to provide quick services to patients that might not be so readily available were they located further away from such a large variety of medical service providers.

They are both very knowledgeable, attentive, and they make you feel very comfortable throughout your entire visit. The office uses an electronic method to communicate and share lab results, and I think it is very effective and helpful. It's called Mychart. I've been able to also communicate directly with my physicians regarding any problems or concerns. The staff is very nice as well. In addition, I can request prescription refills, check my lab results, and look over what was discussed during my visit. I love it! Very convenient!! He went to Dr. Hakky with concerns about a possible physical abnormality. Dr. Hakky handed down a potentially life altering diagnosis for a young male, and then he sent him on his way without any discussion about implications or long term effects regarding having a normal sex life or even having children. My son was nearly suicidal as a result of the very casual way that Dr. Hakky told him a diagnosis which we have now learned was incorrect. We had a second opinion with another urologist in Atlanta, and he completely dispelled the wrong diagnosis that was given by Hakky. We then went to the Mayo Clinic just to be certain. The physicians at the Mayo Clinic also completely disagreed with the diagnosis from Hakky. Not only did we get an incorrect diagnosis from Hakky, but he was insensitive to the impact that his words would have on a young male in the prime of his life. He spent mere minutes with him and then sent him on his way. When we called back later to try to have a more meaningful conversation, he said, "he's a cute kid," and then he told me to let him get back to his lunch. Zero discussion. Zero reassurance. Zero recommendations as to next steps. It's bad enough to get a wrong diagnosis from a physician. It is even worse when the doctor lacks any compassion at all.

They truly cared about me as a patient and as a person. I moved to Knoxville, TN about 2 months ago for work. I've been seeing my previous urologist in NJ for years for my urological issues. My urological issues are embarrassing to me and it is very difficult for me to find the right person I'm comfortable with for treatment. I couldn't find anyone in Knoxville that could help my specific issue and that I was comfortable with as well. I did some research and I found Dr. Cornell and saw he had lots of experience with my issue and offered the same kind of treatments as my previous doctor. At my appointment today I felt extremely comfortable with Dr. Cornell. I was surprisingly more comfortable with him than my previous urologist I've seen for years. He is very nice and listens well. He offers excellent advice. And his treatment was even better and more effective than my NJ urologist as well. I am doing so much better right now and I'm grateful. I have to drive 3 hours each way to see Dr. Cornell but it is worth it to me. He is now my official urologist and I will be seeing him regularly. I am extremely grateful and relieved that I found him. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a urologist. Once I got there and gave his office manager my paperwork, I only had to wait long enough for her to photocopy my license and insurance and start a chart, which took no more than 10 minutes. I was taken back quickly, and waited no more than 10 minutes again to see Dr. Cornell himself. Dr. Cornell was EXTREMELY thorough, and looked over my past history, looking for anything that could help him piece together a picture of what was going on with me; which I really appreciated. He answered every question (even if I accidentally asked more than once), made sure I knew exactly what was going on, and took as much time as I needed to understand his conclusions, course of treatment, and the reasoning behind it. Dr. Cornell listened and made sure he understood exactly what I was saying before coming to any conclusions or making a diagnosis. It was so wonderful to have a doctor that really listened and spent time with me. I cannot say enough about my experience with Dr. Cornell today.

The practice is run efficiently, which does contribute to a "get 'em in, move 'em along" feeling, but this efficiency also benefits you when it is your turn in the exam room or being worked up for your physical. Physicals are in two parts: One date for blood draw, EKG, BP, weight and x-ray, another date for doctor's hands-on exam, consultation and question and answer.

It's not easy to find a good doctor…read morethese days, so I am thrilled to have found Dr. Fredd Miller through a fellow doctor's recommendation. Dr. Miller is an anomaly in this day and age. He was personable, easygoing, and knowledgeable. But what really stands out is that he actually takes the time to talk to you as though you are his only patient. I never felt rushed in any way. I was initially perplexed at the set up for an annual exam since it entails two visits that are billed as one copay. However, it wound up being a great idea. On the first visit they take all of your labs so Dr. Miller is able to go over all of the results when he examines you on the second visit. This was much better than simply having a doctor call you to briefly go over your lab results, which is how many of my previous doctors have operated in the past. The staff was very nice and easy to work with. The online portal works well for viewing lab results and contacting Dr. Miller. He checks these emails multiple times a day and is easy to reach. The office is clean, modern, and conveniently located off Glenridge near the corner of Hammond Drive. There is plenty of parking available and the office is easy to find. All in all, if you're looking for a good PCP, Dr. Fredd Miller is definitely the right prescription!
