This is the easiest 5 stars I've ever written. Our waitress, Autumn told us right off the bat that she was pretty new but no need to worry as she would do her best to take care of us. She was easily one of the best servers. Many of you know my boss has a lot of food sensitivities so ordering can be challenging. She was very kind and patient. The Malfy 75 was perfection. Light and lemony without being too tart or too sweet. Highly recommend. My boss ordered the Octopus as a starter and I had several bites and it was delicious. The spicy Calabrian Chili aioli for dipping was amazing. It had a spicy kick but oh so flavorful. For me I started with the crab bisque and there was A LOT OF crab meat. Very rich and creamy. My main was everything. Lobster Ravioli with lump crab meat and grilled shrimp. Highly recommend. It was delicious. A lot of people at our table ordered and seemed to enjoy the salmon Tuscano. This place is located in a very cute little park area. I'm going to say 4.5 but round up a bit. I frequent the Courtyard by Marriott NE frequently and Bocca is a 30 second walk from the hotel. The hostesses are always pleasant, the place has super relaxing ambience. The food......not the cheapest, but the food here is HIGH quality. If you like Italian food, it's a great option. The Cobb salad is probably the BEST Cobb salad I have EVER eaten anywhere in the US. It's perfection. Truly -- a MUST when you're at this restaurant. I've had pizza here to lasagna. Everything is delicious. Service is good. Both booths and bars and tables are great options -- and usually not too crowded so that you can actually have a conversation with another person and hear what he/she is saying. Big thumbs up. This area of Houston has suffered too long without a place like this. Some say it's overpriced, but that's because they are used to Olive Garden. Very nice place for a romantic dinner for two or even ladies night out. There's plenty of seating as well as a large bar area to relax and watch games while you sip on a martini. The espresso martini was amazing. Nice hint of coffee and perfect amount of liquor. Not too strong. I ordered the shrimp carbonara. Half size. And it was pretty large for half size. You can totally split the half. There was so much sauce. I absolutely loved it. Make sure to order a side of bread. That was our mistake. Then you can dip the bread in all the overload of sauce. Friday August 6, 2021 if your looking for true authentic real italian food, this is absolutely NOT the place. the highlights ( good things ) about this place is: great scenery, nice environment, very nice interior decor, and nice open space. the water served cold flat ( some people prefer sparkling, i wasnt asked if i had a preference ) nice appealing water service, and tasted like it was good water, not tap. (+) i also ordered sweet tea, that was very good as well . (+) as an appetizer i ordered calamari, was ok, i have had better, but i will give them am average rating for it. (+) in order to have bread served, you have to order bread service, its not free like most true italian restaurants are, so for the charge they get a negative review, (-) however, the bread was nice hot and light, (+) then again since this place is not a real true italian restaurant, the bread dip was aweful, (-) sour olive oil, and they use red pepper flakes as their bread dip seasoning, REALLY !!! (-) main course i have fettuccine alfredo with grilled shrimp. I dont know how they could have ruined it so bad. the fettuccine tasted like the noodles were store bought, or cooked wrong, very thick, very powdery, the alfredo was very thick sauce as well, the only thing good about this dish was the grill shrimp, they got one thing right. (-) so finally, i said i will give them one last chance, trying desert, so i order tiramisu, another big fail. it was basically biscotti, topped off with chocolate moose and some small chocolate balls, and a small waffle chocolate roll, served in a cocktail glass, all of which has nothing to do with real true italian tiramisu. (-) and if you thought it couldnt get any worse, every time the waitress, or other staff member of the restaurant stopped by asked if everything was ok, or if we needed anything, they approached the table as they saw i just put a fork full of food in my mouth. sorry i wont be visiting this place again, overpriced for what they have to present and give in return. for half of what i spent at this place, i could have gotten fine true real food, and superior service. read more

Excellent date night!!! Brought my wife out here to try this new spot that is about 10 minutes away from our home. Totally impressed with the ambiance, service and food. They hit it in every arena. I enjoyed the Rainbow Trout meal while my wife had their Bolognese special. Simply delicious! The pasta wasn't cooked to perfection, nice and tender. The trout was flaky with a good crispy skin. Our server, DeAndre was super accommodating. Came here after a church service and my first impression was how clean and pretty the restaurant is! Loved all the lighting and tables! I believe they just opened up not too long ago. Overall.. this was is a great place to try down good Italian food here in northeast area. Love the ambiance, very modern and hip with a touch of class. The food is very good. I didn't care for the shrimp scampi sauce. The pasta was very good but the sauce lacked flavor., We got the mussels as appetizer it was a special and OMG,, the flavor of the red sauce was a surprise. I highly recommend this dish if you like mussels. They were also perfectly cooked. My husband got the brenzino special.. the fish was so delicious, however; we did ask for more pesto sauce. Alrighty, sooo this place is a beautiful spot to hang. Big TV's, a bar with limited alcohol, and comfortable chairs. The menu doesn't offer much, just a few over priced Italian dishes, more over priced appetizers, and "specials" that are more expensive than regular small menu. The bar tenders rush you to drink, order, and leave. The chicken was over cooked, noodles a sticky consistency bc there was not enough sauce in it the pasta. Pizza tasted like it should have been $5 outside a club in Downtown Houston. Definitely do not spend money on pizza unless it's 80% off! If you're a foodie don't go here, options are limited and food isn't great at all. They need to revamp the menu 100%! We've been coming to this place ever since it pretty much opened a few years ago. We haven't been for several months but decided to give it a try this past Friday. Came in for happy hour and the drinks were great but the happy hour menu was a bit sparse. More so, the prices have gone up extremely high and for this area, it doesn't make sense. We go to relatively similar upscale Italian restaurants in downtown Houston and I personally haven't seen a chicken entree for more than $30. Maybe $25-28. Took a picture of the menu a while back and I think the chicken Marsala used to be in that range but now it's almost $34! Unfortunately we just had drinks and small apps cause I was a bit turned away from the price of the main entrees. Ambiance and service were great but if they want to appeal to the general population up here, got to have better HH deals and a more affordable menu. read more

Overall, Bocca Italian was a 4/5 star experience. The reasoning behind not giving it all five stars is because it is a little more expensive then what it should be for the quality of the food. The food is good but not anything amazing. The house salad is really good because of the dressing on it. It's a delicious tangy honey mustard, but the garlic butter noodles just had a really odd taste. For a dish that is so simple, the flavors were just missing. I love bocca - well maybe I should say loved. Seriously we're regulars bc they make amazing handmade pastas! We've had almost everything on the menu and it's always been good. Was so sad to see Lupo pizzeria go away. (Part of BOCCA) which has since then been added to the BOCCA menu. This was a DoorDashed regular for us. They had amazing pizza but due to staffing restraints - they had to put the pause on it. Imagine my sheer joy when I saw pizza was back post on IG !!!! I could just taste the wonderful brick oven, authentic, magical, perfect ratio of sauce to cheese .....Yada yada yada..... Seriously though, their pizza was some kind of incredible. Today was the day. I opened the box with childlike wonder and nooooooooooo..... the pizza looked like a 2 year old through it together... seriously it looked like a tombstone frozen pizza. Oh well at least the flavor is still there right???! Negative - burned but not crispy, seemed like it was par cooked - frozen and recooked. I had the chicken Marsala as mg entree and it was delicious. For cocktails I had two Palomas (sooooo goood and refreshing) and an old fashioned (yummy). The service was great and ambience was nice. The place is pretty cool for dining in, has a nice bar and plenty of space around, either near TVs or in more quiet areas. We ordered a bunch of food for the table; starting with the bread basket which is great. Calamari are super crispy and the marinara sauce was great too. For my mean I had the chicken marsala with pasta. Way too much garlic for me, though the quality of the chicken was pretty good. My friends said their foods (pasta) were very salty. The risotto I tried was a bit undercooked, very al dente which I don't think Risotto should be. Service was great though and the drinks/seasonal specialty is quite unique. We had a great experience this weekend at Bocca. Service was good, but be prepared for a relaxed pace. That's fine, just be aware it's not a quick service restaurant. Sunday Brunch menu was offered and we sampled from it as well as the main menu. Garlic bread was a loaf of ciabatta cut into a tear and share style with a whipped ricotta spread. Bread was great by itself and didn't need the ricotta. The spread didn't bring a lot to the table but thankfully the bread was great as is. We had the Italian baked eggs, the salmon picatta and the bracciole. All were excellent with a lot of bold flavor and high quality ingredients. Sauces were deep and developed, sides were well prepared and tasty, portions were healthy and of good value. We will be back for sure. read more

Went early on a Friday night for a date night. We got there early (before sunset) and sat on the patio. As it started to get dark, the crowd got much larger and more raucous. I hope this place and the ones around it continue to thrive as the area gets built up, as it is a nice area! We started with a delicious old fashioned from the bar and the water is much better than tap water. They only bring bread service if you request it. Caprese appetizer was DELISH! They split it very nicely between us, which most places do not do when you share. It was plain, simple, and delicious! Many places add too much balsamic or putting a bunch of extra things; I like that Bocca made it simple and tasty- exactly how it should be. Main courses were a disappointment. I ordered salmon piccata. The noodles were way over cooked and the salmon was literally floating in the sauce, so the flavor of the fish was lost. My date ordered ribeye. It was cooked well but it was cut in half to maximize profits. It was still enough food, but a ribeye should be a nice thick cut of steak- not pan sliced. The dessert we chose was lemon cello crème brûlée that was to do for! We will go back again to try some other entrees, or this would be a great place to grab a salad, drink, and dessert. read more

First we ordered the calamari, we sent it back because it was over cooked and had no flavor at all. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip instead...it was just okay. My date had a lobster dish, the lobster was tuff like rubber and so was the pasta, we sent that back as well. I had spaghetti and meatballs and ordered the same dish to-go for my date and the meatballs barely had meat in them....mostly bread. For dinner we had the salmon piccata with mashed potatoes and spinach and a spinach salad with shrimp. Plan on trying the pizza tomorrow. Today we went to the Mother's Day buffet. The food was honestly the worst meal I have ever had. The breakfast buffet at the airport Holiday Inn would have been ten times better. The eggs were rubbery. The choices were scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage patties and cubed potatoes. They had a Cesar salad or house salad which were just sitting out in a bowl. And for kids- they had chicken tenders and I kid you not- McDonalds fries. Like they got them in bulk and reheated them. I was so disappointed. Service was just okay the waitor was forgetful however he was trying his best I felt like he may have been new in his role and I am sure with practice he will improve. Food originally i was going to order the Cobb salad with Italian wedding soup but once I saw my friends plate I changed my order to the Salmon that was topped with artichoke and a side of mashed potatoes and Italin wedding Soup w/out the pasta. The Salmon was over cooked and it seemed as though the artichoke were from a jar rather than fresh so it was salty, the potatoes were bland and the soup was salty as well. I did appreciate the accomodation of taking the pasta out. Dessert was good and the restaurant was able to make another accommodation for us by creating the mini desert sample plate the only dessert that was not great was the chocolate cake it was very dry. We tried Bocca for Happy Hour/quick Date night. We had the Arancini for an appetizer which was delicious. Two fried cheesy pasta balls with pesto and marina. Can't go wrong with that. Main courses we had were chicken parmesan with butter garlic angel hair and white clams and linguini. Clams were excellent and tasted fresh. The dish was well seasoned and you could taste the brine from the clams. The Chicken parmesan itself was great. It was well breaded and fried. However, I felt the butter garlic angel hair pasta was tasteless and the chicken parm could've used more sauce. Tiramisu was average. Nothing ground breaking there.  Overall, open space, covid protocols followed, and good food. I felt the portion sizes were spot on. We got a 1/2 order of the clams which was perfect. No leftovers. The full order of the chicken parm produced leftovers which I will enjoy at work. Definitely would visit again. read more
