This is one of the nicest comic/action figure/misc stores I have ever seen. Layouts were clear and grouped by interest. Displays were carefully designed with the collector in mind. The amount of stock is great, especially back issues. I saw something I've never seen before - ECs from the 50s!! One area that I am still collecting. Most stores only carry the later reprints. Nice, but none that I need at the time. There are separate displays for comics, magazines, action figures, sals items, suggested reading, and a nice area just for kids with a great selection. The manager was helpful,and very knowledgeable, and we had great conversations. There are multiple areas marked for sales prices, including several boxes of low priced comics and magazines. And especially of note: I read recently of the difficulty of finding new packs of Pokemon cards. Some dealers were charging $9 to $13 for the new packs, due to shortages. Comic Store West has them for $6, with a limited amount you can buy. That alone tells me a lot about caring and watching out for the consumer. If you are in the York area looking for comics, this should definitely be your first stop! Highly recommended.

Stopped in here to grab a drink newspaper on Wednesday because the name is Colonial NEWS and they…read moreadvertise they have newspapers. The place is dark and dirty. They had expired milk in their small refrigerator and it appears that they just head down to the nearest gas station and buy three or four drinks then mark them up incredibly high. Most of the "snacks" and other things in the area had dust all over them, there was even a dead fly. There was a crowd of people playing lottery tickets and there was no real order. I stood there for more than five minutes while the woman working there waited on everyone around me but me. She had a line at the register and a line at the lottery machine, but she continued to just take everyone from the lottery line, so I got in that line. At that point she took the man who was standing behind me in the regular line. Once there was only myself and one other lady waiting the cashier finally decided to wait on me. She was incredibly rude to me acting as if I was a burden to her, when a minute ago she was smiling and laughing with other customers. I went to pay for my beverage and two newspapers (they still had the one from Tuesday and I hadn't gotten that one so since they still had it I figured I'd pick it up) and she told me I could not buy the Tuesday one even though there were a stack of them sitting on the paper stand out for sale. I didn't bother asking why because at this point I just wanted to get out of this creepy little place and it was starting to fill back up with people wanting lottery tickets. I handed her a five dollar bill and asked if I had anything smaller. The paper only cost $0.75 and the over priced tea was $2.15 but my five was too big for the $2.90 bill. She reluctantly took my five and rolled her eyes at me. I said thank you to her and she just huffed at me. Incredibly rude for no reason. As I was leaving I heard one of the customers ask the woman if she can "front" him a pack of cigarettes because his food stamps aren't coming in for another week. I was completely appalled and this place should probably be investigated.

This is a fine local newspaper. They cover everything from the going ons of the local township and…read moreborough councils to how the local sports teams are doing. They also cover upcoming events in the county. They still deliver a daily newspaper right to your door and also have an online version. A great resource for anyone living in this area or anyone interested in finding out more about it.

I live on the west coast and was looking for a copy of…read morethe previous day's Washington Post (no newsstands near me stock it, I called them all) so I finally called The Newsroom on a long shot and the man was so friendly and helpful, set up an eBay listing for it and texted me the link to complete purchase! So many people these days just want to brush off any requests that mean extra work for them, so it's always really appreciated when someone is willing to go above and beyond to help you out. Thank you again, I hope great karma comes to you all, and I can't wait to visit in person when I'm in town. Long live printed media and the great newsstands!

If you're looking for something to read while riding the train, they have a great selection of…read moremagazines, newspapers, and even comic books. Lots of quick snacks/beverages. Place could use an update in my opinion but I was told because it's a cigar shop that people used to openly smoke in there. Oh ya, and there's lotto there too if that's your thing or killing time.

They have an excellent collection of local books, but the rest of it is just eighties trash. Also, been like really depressed about the local lighter selection. The artwork is a total snooze.
