Requested a riser installed for easy access to tank to avoid the lawn being dug up when pumped each…read moreyear, since we have used them for pumping for 15 years now as a loyal customer. Explained this, was quoted verbally, charged upfront for the service (this came in handy for them later), service was completed, but installed several inches below ground level with no visible cover and they left. When calling to ask about this issue after the technician left, they stated I should have asked for a detailed quote upfront and had them scope/measure the depth onsite first, because the tank was at a depth where an above ground riser would have stuck 3 inches above ground. They said they "assumed it was the proper depth" when quoting me over the phone and not admitting their mistake- and even claimed they had explained this requirement upfront (which they did not). This is a clear example of taking advantage of the customer to get the job and trying to bait them into an upsell- because they tried to upsell me grading of the lawn to make the riser proper depth. Worst of all- they blamed me for their upfront quoting mistake. My only mistake was trusting them to quote/complete the service properly. Will not be doing business with them again since they charged for a service that has no value/did not accomplish what I requested.

Two people spent 2 hours digging around the rest of the pipe seeing where it was connected to. I wasn't connected to anything. I was charged $1,000 for 2 people for 2 hours each! I think $250 an hour is an unacceptable rate to charge for a simple task. I'll be sure to not use them again.

We set up an appointment to have our tank pumped. They gave us a day but didn't commit to a time…read moreframe which was fine but inconvenient. My husband stayed home from work because our tank is in a difficult spot. He was happy to get a text at 10:45 saying the technician would arrive in 48 minutes. At 1:00 when the technician was still not here he called the 800 number and after several questions and holds was informed that the driver was called to an emergency and wouldn't get here at all on that day. After attempts to negotiate by the company that included an offer to get someone here that day, my husband cancelled the call completely. Here are my questions to the company: 1. If you're going to tell people the technician is on the way, why wouldn't you notify them in a timely manner that will not be happening? 2. Why does the customer have to complain before you meet your initial commitment to provide a service? I'm sure I could come up with more but I think you get the point. Customer service is clearly not important to this company so I'd stay away! UPDATE! The company contacted us and apologized for their service. They offered to come another day. The technician arrived exactly as scheduled and was extremely thorough. They provided an extra service at no cost to compensate us for our bad experience. I remember now why we used them the first time. The knowledgeable staff in the field is their greatest asset! I hope they work on the customer service end a little bit we'll definitely call them next time! Give them a try and be persistent if you have to be!

Seacoast Sewer & Drain - Another happy customer!

What can I say about this company? There aren't enough words in the English language to fully…read moreexplain what an incredible experience I had with them. On a hot, steamy recent Sunday night, both toilets in my house backed up. I called Seacoast Sewer and Drain in Kittery, and they got back to me within five minutes. Jen, the office manager, told me she was going to dispatch Bob McDermott to my house and that he would arrive within the hour, which he did. Bob immediately saw that the problem was with my septic system being full, and not able to hold any more sewage. So he called a sewage pumping company down from Eliot, Maine, who arrived in an hour and pumped out 3,000 gallons of sewage and effluent from my four holding tanks. Bob could see, even though he was now working with a flashlight at this point and fighting off mosquitos, that the problem was with my leach field not getting the effluent from the last holding tank, which also housed the aerator. Since he could do nothing further, he promised to come back the next day, which he did. He traced several problems, all related, to a degraded junction box which was improperly installed by the septic contractor who put in the system in 2012. Bob had to dig a fifth hole to get to the junction box which was flooded and the terminals were corroded. So, with the company owner, Jack, who had now arrived from another job, they cleaned up the terminals on the junction box and sealed the whole unit with plumber's putty, to ensure that the pump and alarm would work properly. What a relief!! I would heartily recommend Seacoast Sewer and Drain to anyone with a septic problem. Notwithstanding the fact that Bob came out on a Sunday evening and had to dig four holes to access the septic covers, he and the owner, Jack, wouldn't give up until they had fully diagnosed what the issue was with my septic system. These guys are THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!
